PM Low Thia Khiang

Many would find it strange and uncomfortable hearing or reading this, Prime Minister Low Thia Khiang or Prime Minister Sylvia Lim. There seems to be something missing, not the right mold, doesn’t sound right. Singaporeans have been so use to a PM from the PAP that anyone from anywhere would not be comfortable. PM Chee Soon Juan, PM Tan Jee Say anyone?

There is fear of a big change for the worst. The question is whether Singapore has reached a point that we are already at the worst. Many would not agree when we are celebrating SG50 with plomp and plenty. Look ahead, with the population size and growing, with so many foreigners that would change our identity and demography, our way of life, with so many of our locals being sidelined from the main stream of activities, discriminated by foreigners in job opportunities, with the high cost of living and housing, with your CPF being turned into another form of taxation, with university places going to foreigners instead of Singaporeans, top jobs going to foreigners with funny degrees from funny universities despite our top students graduating from the best universities in the West, what is the future for Singaporeans? No problem, the foreigners will be Singaporeans overnight by issuing them pink ICs!

Today we are starting to hear the Govt acknowledging that the population is too big to handle, but still many are talking of 10m and more. And knowing that there is no other formula for growth except population growth, you are not too far wrong to expect the population to keep increasing at an intolerable rate after the GE. We are also hearing the lost of a Singapore identity and Singaporean core? Did these things happen yesterday? Who caused them? Nobody knows, I bet you, nobody knows how and when did they happened, just like nobody knows that we are marching towards the cliff. Everyone will swear they did not know.

Can a new party in power with a new PM be worse than the direction we are going? At least there is hope in a new party and a new PM to change course, knowing that the cliff is just ahead. And why should a PM Low Thia Khiang or PM Sylvia Lim or PM Chee Soon Juan, or PM Tan Jee Say be a problem? They will inherit a system with some of the best men we have in the govt service, in all the services. These bright men and women will still be there to serve the new govt and PM. What is needed is a new direction with new emphasis on Singapore and the well beings of Singaporeans.

With a new govt and a new PM, the script will be rewritten. The population growth with be halted, the number of foreigners in high places will be monitored and reduced, Singaporeans will be favoured and in charge, not discriminated brazenly. The new govt will run the country for Singaporeans. And the formula, instead of going all around the world to hunt for foreigners when a problem pops up, the new govt will rely on our own top talents to deal with the problems. The new PMs will get the best men and women to assist him in the execution of his pro Singaporean policies.

Is this different from what the present govt is doing? Got problem, set up a committee, pay for expertise. Go to the whole world to find the experts to solve our problems. Our million dollar employees only need to manage and know how to find foreigner talents to solve their problems. The new PM can do the same, but with the heart in the right place, to think Singaporean first. We are Singaporeans, we are good enough to solve our own problems, especially problems that we created for ourselves.

What is the point of having so many top talents from the best universities of the world for? To collect money and not to solve problem, cannot solve problems and needing foreigners paid a fraction of their pay to solve problems for them? I believe we have the best talents to look after our own problems, to solve our own problems like we used to do to build this great city and home before it is turn into another 3rd World slum, run down by 3rd World talents and 3rd World mentality. Lee Kuan Yew said we must have the confidence to look after ourselves, not everyday looking for foreigners to help us solve our problems.

Singaporeans better get used to PM Low Thia Khiang or Sylvia Lim, or Chee Soon Juan or Tan Jee Say and look forward to a better future for themselves and their children. The people in the eastern part of the island have seen the light and know what they want and are voting for their future in a new hope. Going forward is a treacherous affair if things are not going to change for the good of Singaporeans but for the good of foreigners.

  2. Yes! Anyone Can Be The PM Of Singapore!

I m not a fan of PAP or Opposition Parties.

But it is perfectly OK to me to have PM from any parties.

Singapore is bigger than just a person, the PM.

I don't believe Singapore to be ruled by just one person.

We have a world-class civil service staffed by able people.

Believe me, they can run a VERY efficient and a VERY effective
civil service regardless who is the PM!

So, any PM will do! Yes, anyone PM will do!

What is the MOST important to the masses is that the elected PM
must have the HEART for its people FIRST!

Growth for the country comes SECOND!

What is the point of growth at the expense of the well-being of
    the masses!

This is my SG50 dream. Towards SG100!

    Cheers.

  3. RB..it would not be far off the target to declare the oppos as the cleanest, least corruptible politicians in Singapore..in fact..the world. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that the civil service machines have been working day n night to pin these guys down for any evil, wrong doings or behaving horribly. Compare this to the shenanigans in PA, NEA, library etc and we wonder why these guys are not in parliament in greater numbers. Looking for crooks and self interests? Look no further than the grass roots organisations la..see the structure of HDB that houses thousands of chiak Liao bees who are perpetually on 1 course or the other and understand that the real power is at the branch office levels and you'll understand the real impact of the grassroots leaders..yes ..even extending to car parking facilities..it is time for a complete overhaul..

  6. Aiyo, PM Low?

Then why "PM Low" dare not even name his shadow cabinet by now? And if this Teochew Ah Hia does not even want to talk to Hainan Ah Ko now, why u think he will want to make Ah Ko a minister in his cabinet, assuming PAP is voted out in coming election?

To tell you the truth lah, Ah Hia is only good as "nice guy to PAP" opposition MP material. Make him PM, he will screw up lagi more than mai hum Lee.

  7. Want become PM must have 宰相之腹。- Agongkia said.

Compare the political leaders in China and the USA. The Americans all look like Hollywood actors and actresses, and many are just actors and actresses.

The Chinese leaders look nerdy, never the good looking actors, but very strong and talented. That is how they built a nation from dust to challenge the Americans. The Americans used to have great leaders, but now run by good looking and empty head leaders, and fading away.

Good leaders are not determined by how good looking they are. If that is the case, go an ask all the Hollywood actors to come and stand for election. Everyone looking so suave and intelligent and attractive.

    ReplyDelete
  15. If there is a need for PAP to invite an opposition party to be a junior partner, it would be the end of PAP. Why would WP be a junior party when it can be a senior partner in a coalition with other parties?

Why would WP not take over the premiership and instead be a small partner to be boot around?

  16. Why would WP be a junior party when it can be a senior partner in a coalition with other parties?
    RB 11:25 a.m.

Why not, if WP think there is better benefit to be in coalition with PAP than with other parties?

Just like WP think there is better benefit to be a "nice to PAP" opposition, like what they have been all along, than to be a "Aung Juan Soon Chee" opposition?

Or just like RB think it has better benefit for him just to blog to fight PAP than to become opposition candidate to fight PAP mah. Tio bo, RB?

    Sorry for my bad writing.
I meant to say the day will come when PAP will beg to become the JUNIOR partner in a coalition government with WP.
With Low Thia Khiang as Prime Minister of course.

Why would PAP want to do this?
So that they can learn how to solve problems and serve Singaporeans from the WP.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @ RB:

No way lah. Cannot make it, fundamentally because those "alternative" choices for PM from "alternative' parties are simply TOO NICE as human beings to be an effective, DICTATORIAL Prime Minister, which is required for Singapore.

Even LHL is only a very "lite" version of his old man.

IMO the 2, maybe 3 which can be "trained" to be nearly as tough and no-nonsense as Lee Kuan Yew are:

    1. Dr Ng Eng Hen
    2. RADM Teo Chee Hean

    and maybe

    3. Lim Swee Say

  22. The old adage: " Don't count the number of your MPs ( chickens aka 鸡 in Chinese ) before they are elected ( hatched )".

Mr Teochew's team C, D and E are unlikely to unseat their respective incumbents given current dynamics ( though situations are still fluid ).

Their team B's chances are also not very assured of winning in their most promising battleground in the coming hustling.

Furthermore, which other "heavy weights" to deploy to the 2 new SMC?

Other parties might have better chances than Mr Teochew this time round ......

    ReplyDelete
  23. The last two by elections have proven that you do not need heavy weights to beat the super talents. The voters are looking for people with good hearts, not clever people with misplaced hearts.

They want a govt that is for the people. As simple as that.

With so many foreigners in the country, many taking up good jobs at the expense of the local talents, you bet the people will be angry.

A C or D team from the opposition will be enough to unseat the A or B teams of the PAP in this election. Wait for the surprises and the shock and awe when the result is announced.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The highly successful professionals that the PAP are offering to the people may not be seen as the right people to serve the average Singaporeans. They did not know what is the meaning of being average Singaporeans and the kind of problems they are facing.

How could they empathise with the people and their simple aspirations? How could they serve the average Singaporeans with their little irritating problems? They live in different worlds.

So you do your Gerrymandering properly, and you win for another generation or until you get another 5 years to permanently alter the demographic makeup and ensure enmity between locals and new transplant. Its a page from Machiavelli's little book.

In the most unlikely scenario? Maybe another Operation Coldsore? Part 2. Die, die, cannot lose for at least another generation until all the money is safely out of the country, the books are buried, the bodies are all too old, too decomposed and well forgotten to matter.
