Pasir Ris GRC – The biggest upset

Many voices are heard in the social media about Desmond Lim and his SDA. Some even accusing him of being a mole but no one knows. What is this Desmond Lim may become irrelevant for many reasons. It could be the biggest victory for the PAP in this election in Pasir Ris. The voters, from reading the social media, are now one head two big, not knowing what to do. Some were saying they did not want to vote for both.

In desperation, some anti PAP activists are calling voters to vote for anything except PAP. Even if they have doubts about Desmond Lim and his SDA, they are encouraging people to vote for him and SDA just to vote out the incumbent party and Chee Hian.

What would be the contest in Pasir Ris be like assuming that it is status quo with no opposition party willing to step in to put up a 3 corner fight? Would it be opposition versus PAP or as some were rumouring, PAP Team A versus Team D?

There were comments that it is better to have a mole party than the PAP in Parliament and the voters should just blindly vote for Desmond Lim and the SDA.

Another angle to look at this battle will be to vote SDA in and to knock out Chee Hian and his team which may have office bearers or potential ministers in them. So, would the battle cry for Pasir Ris voters be to vote out Chee Hian and his team. This is equally a very significant loss to the PAP and would cost a very big upset in Hsien Loong’s cabinet. It would be unbelieveable but a very strong message that it is all over for the PAP. Actually if this were to happen, it is likely to be the same across the island with PAP suffering a serious defeat.

Chee Hian is a DPM and said what you like he is still a big chess piece in the PAP camp. And facing him is a no hoper party led by Desmond who managed only a few hundred votes in Punggol East by election and lost his deposit as well. This team is about the weakest the PAP can hope to face short of a walkover.

Losing Pasir Ris is as good as losing the whole game. Would there be so much discontent and cross over in Pasir Ris to deliver such a heavy blow to the PAP? Could a perceived D Team beat an A Team?

  2. Can we trust a government that does not keep its promise?
Did this PAP government return our CPF money back to us in full when we turn 55 years old?
If this promise is not kept now.
What other promises will be broken in the future?

It is not strong leadership that matters.
    It is a trustworthy leadership.
South Korea got rid of its last military dictator Park Chung Hee in 1979.
And look at South Korea today.

  3. Here is my take.

Sing first will have a higher chance to win (or perhaps NMP seats) than going to safe seat like tanjong pagar.

I can't believe Oppo teams have not given this place a hard look and research. They are squandering their chance
Even a b team can put a good dent on DPM than any where else.
Winning it may still be a long way to go.

  4. PAP 95% vs 5% OPP!

I can't stop laughing when his name is being mentioned.

    Hahaha....and more hahaha................

Not easy for Pasir Ris GRC to fall. PAP brand there is too BIG
    to fail.

Don't play play. DPM is PM material! I will not be surprised he
    may be the next PM.

    Possible? Nothing is impossible!

IMO, if a feather-weigh team is to contest in PR GRC, then the result
is likely to be........ PAP 95% vs 5% Opp!

    What say U?

    We shall see.

  5. SINGFIRST should look at Pasir Ris seriously and out from Tanjong Pagar. No ego please, straight clear thinking of a sober-minded strategist needed in an election battle.

What's the point of fighting a highly influential death man, who many citizens are still mourning for?

Not very clever or wise. Mr. Tan Jee Say & comrades should revisit their election strategy and cut loss when in a no win situation. 5 years is too long to waste not to get into Parliament.

Contest to WIN, not contest for ego.

As for Desmond, his team is likely PAPPy Team F, helping Teo's the Team E posing as a Team A. What is Teo's achievement since entry into politics for so long? Napping in Parliament, trying to keep his eyes opened?

  6. Teo is not popular. If limelight is on him, his weak performance will become obvious.

  7. Pasir Ris is a heartlander estate with many Sinkies in their 40s and 50s, with many PMETs retrenched, or under great pressure in their jobs from FTs PMETs courtesy of PAPPIES. Focus on this point, it will be a big plus for VTO votes. SINKIES are not stupid, this time their self interests and survival are at stake. More VTOs coming. SINKIES need better opposition candidates in Pasir Ris. Few new citizens in Pasir Ris.

  9. This Coming General Election is not about selected leaders.
Sinkies have been taking care of themselves all these years after Independence. They could EVEN PAY THEIR RULERS THE HIGHEST PAY IN THE WORLD AND THE RULERS PAID AND PAY THE BIGGEST BONUSES COMPARE TO OTHER EMPLOYEES.

THIS ELECTION IS TO KICK OUT THE SHENANIGANS, DEADWOODS AND INCOMPETENT HIGH OFFICIALS FROM THEIR APPOINTMENTS.

WONG KAN SENG, GEORGE YEO, MAH BOW TAN, LUI TUCK YEW ARE ALL REMOVED.
BUT IT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO END THE DYNASTY SAND CRONYISM.

THE OBJECTIVE OF SINGSPOREANS FOR THE COMING GENERAL ELECTION
    MUST BE
    TO PUT AN END
    TO
    CRONYISM AND
    TO END THE DYNASTY
    FOR THE GOOD AND WELLBEING
    OF SINGAPOREANS.

    FAILING TO REMOVE THE NONSENCE
IN THE COMING GENERAL ELECTION SHALL MEAN UNENDING MISERIES FOR OUR CHILDREN AND THEIR CHILDREN FOR
WE WILL BE PAWNED AND SOLD OUT
    TO ALIENS.

  10. I agree with what "patriot" said above (10:26 a.m.), even though it was written all Bold letters.

Remember Maslow hierarchy of Needs? We need to take care of our most Basic needs, before we try to reach for luxury needs. Our most basic need is to stop the arrogance of the PAP, to stop them from destroying Singapore, to stop the flood of foreigners. Note that I said "flood" - I'm not against the entry of foreigners, but the last decade has seen a flood, not an entry; we need to do some decanting of the overpopulation.

So there you have it, our most basic need. We need them to lose the election, we need heads to roll. The bigger the head, the stronger our message to them. Hence the election, this particular one and unique to Singapore, is not to get new leaders, not to get capable leaders, even not to get any leader at all - it's simply first and foremost to kick them out. Never mind that you vote in a mole, never mind even if you vote in a donkey - just don't let them continue to destroy Singapore.

Be very, very suspicious of anybody who advocates 3-corner fights - they have only one motive behind it. Be careful of anybody who analyses who is better or who should give way - they are helping the PAP even if they do not realise it. Leave it to the various oppositions to sort it out themselves. Like Redbean said, the moles will show their hands, as you see in Pasir Ris/ MacPherson.
