Many
voices are heard in the social media about Desmond Lim and his SDA. Some even
accusing him of being a mole but no one knows. What is this Desmond Lim may
become irrelevant for many reasons. It could be the biggest victory for the PAP
in this election in Pasir Ris. The voters, from reading the social media, are
now one head two big, not knowing what to do. Some were saying they did not
want to vote for both.
In
desperation, some anti PAP activists are calling voters to vote for anything
except PAP. Even if they have doubts about Desmond Lim and his SDA, they are
encouraging people to vote for him and SDA just to vote out the incumbent party
and Chee Hian.
What
would be the contest in Pasir Ris be like assuming that it is status quo with
no opposition party willing to step in to put up a 3 corner fight? Would it be
opposition versus PAP or as some were rumouring, PAP Team A versus Team D?
There
were comments that it is better to have a mole party than the PAP in Parliament
and the voters should just blindly vote for Desmond Lim and the SDA.
Another
angle to look at this battle will be to vote SDA in and to knock out Chee Hian
and his team which may have office bearers or potential ministers in them. So,
would the battle cry for Pasir Ris voters be to vote out Chee Hian and his
team. This is equally a very significant loss to the PAP and would cost a very
big upset in Hsien Loong’s cabinet. It would be unbelieveable but a very strong
message that it is all over for the PAP. Actually if this were to happen, it is
likely to be the same across the island with PAP suffering a serious defeat.
Chee
Hian is a DPM and said what you like he is still a big chess piece in the PAP
camp. And facing him is a no hoper party led by Desmond who managed only a few
hundred votes in Punggol East by election and lost his deposit as well. This
team is about the weakest the PAP can hope to face short of a walkover.
Losing
Pasir Ris is as good as losing the whole game. Would there be so much
discontent and cross overs in Pasir Ris to deliver such a heavy blow to the
PAP? Could a perceived D Team beat an A Team?
And
the SDA has also come up with a Singaporean First agenda for the election. This
would put those parties that are anti Singaporeans or foreigner first in a
corner. Anti Singaporeans parties will be put under the spot light. They can
keep on shouting foreigners good, foreigners to help daft Sinkies.
PAP not stupid.
ReplyDeleteDesmond Lim not stupid.
Majority Pasir Ris GRC voters not stupid.
If Desmond Lim can win, PAP would have also announce RB as PAP candidate.
So "big nose" and his retired generals team will win Pasir Ris GRC. For sure.
Bets over at down under offers differing bets options and payouts for all GRCs, SMCs for the coming GE. All covered except for Ponggul- Pasir Ris GRC. No one willing to accept bets for that GRC as its a confirmed lose out.
DeleteWhatever happens I hope the best people win the contest. PAP has the advantage and by my reckoning they will win. Short of something drastic happening in the PAP camp, the PAP team will win.
ReplyDeleteDo the patriotic thing.
ReplyDeleteVote SDA.
Think about it.
Which party is more pro Singaporean?
SDA or PAP?
Which party is more pro Alien?
SDA or PAP?
Which party does not want to return our CPF money back to Singaporeans?
SDA or PAP?
Which party wants 6.9 or even 10 million population?
SDA or PAP?

Tiok, but not 100%. Should be best available, not best, people. Then it will be 100% tiok.
The people can choose to vote SDA, not necessary the best team. Then what?
ReplyDelete10 am Knn u damn sharp as at first I did not notice the subtle difference. Knn u should join one of the parties and run as candidate. Knn u damn good that is all I can say. Knn

Best team?
Best team to do what?
Best team to refuse to keep promise of return of our CPF money at 55 years?
Best team to import more Aliens to increase population to 6.9 million?
Best team to give away university places and scholarships to Alien children?
Best team to train Alien children in sports at the Singapore Sports School?
Best team to "invest" money in loss making overseas companies like ABC Learning in Australia?
Best team to introduce more Generals, Admirals and Police Commissioners into parliament?
Well again, look like nothing much exciting for these 2 Giant GRCs in this GE2015 until now . Lets focus back here again with Elephant OPPs at next GE2020 . Hands-On Green Matters
ReplyDeleteLike to say here that
ReplyDeleteIF THE VOTERS AT ANG MO KIO AND
PUNGGOL PASIR RIS GRCS HELP
FELLOW SINGAPOREANS TO SACK THE PAPPIES FROM THEIR WARDS,
WE SHALL BE SUCCESSFUL IN ENDING CRONYISM AND
PREVENT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN
OLIGARCHY IN SIN.
THOUGH NO GUARANTEE THAT A
MILITARY JUNTA WILL NOT COME
IN PLACE OF AN OLIGARCHY
IF THE PAPPIES FAIL TO WIN THE
MAJORITY
IN THE COMING GENERAL ELECTION.

Redbean,
ReplyDeleteYour dream is quite enjoyable.
Teo & his team looks like an A Team, but in reality a D Team.
SDA Desmond team may indeed is Mole Team, an F Team.
Imagine how hilarious if F Team beats the D Team.
It will send shock waves all around PAP.
And you can be sure, the last of Harban Singh will be exterminated.
Will Sinkies deliver this hilarious dream?
Every clever scheme is a double edged sword. The GRC is starting to cut and costing pain. If Chee Hian and his team got voted out, it would signal the end of the regime.
ReplyDeleteNow, how to ensure that this would not happen? How about last minute disqualification?
Dear Redbean, thank you for this article on Pasir Ris GRC.
ReplyDeleteThere are two points that must be widely disseminated:
1) The idea that this election is to choose leaders is wrong, maybe even fake, maybe just a PAP election strategy. The most vital problem facing Singaporeans now is to end the arrogance of and bullying by the PAP. There is only one thing citizens can do, that's to vote out a strong symbol of the PAP. So the election is not about choosing leaders but about kicking them out. The PAP is cunning to lead you to pick and choose opposition candidates, to scrutinise the qualifications of opposition candidates. That would be a mistake, if you're choosy about opposition candidates, and let the PAP win, then you're screwed.
This is an astounding idea that very many people cannot accept. The universal concept of an election is to pick leaders, you never vote for moles, monkeys or donkeys. Many intelligent people would think within that box. But Singapore is in a very strange situation, uniquely Singapore is terribly apt in this case. You have to think outside the box and accept the reality - how to stop the arrogance and bullying. And there is only one answer.
2) The next point is what I see in many posts - that they will cast blank votes to make the Mole lose their election deposit. Well Hello! The definition of a mole is an agent working for the PAP. It's the PAP who will pay the deposit, and paying that deposit is much, much cheaper than to buy votes. The PAP will be very glad to pay you to cast blank votes, so they will be laughing all the way to the bank if they pay only the election deposit instead of paying all of you!
The strongest election strategy of the PAP is the building up of an army of moles. They are even unafraid that you see through their moles and did not vote for their moles. Why else do you see so many clowns appearing? So there is only one way to counter this strategy - if you want to kick out the PAP, you will have to vote for the mole. This will surely make the PAP see that their mole strategy cannot work any more.
So in short, do not fret over the qualifications of opposition candidates, do not cast blank votes, do not imagine a Mole will feel the pain of losing their election deposits. Just remember how to stop the arrogance and bullying. Cast your vote and make it count.
These two points should be raised whenever you hear people being misled about voting for future leaders or punishing the clowns or moles.
