CPF is not your money, the drumming starts

NMP Chia Yong Yong’s debutante speech in Parliament is exactly the right kind of speech the Govt is waiting to hear, and must be very pleased with it. CPF money is not the CPF member’s money, or at least not all. Her reason, the employer’s contribution would not be there if the Govt did not legislate it to be there. And the Govt also tops up once in a while. So, the CPF members cannot decide how and when it should take it out and how to spend it. Tiok Boh? See, when the Govt helps you, by topping up your CPF, see what is going to happen to your money? So scary.

All the charity organizations in Singapore that I have contributed my $2 to, using the same reasoning, please, the money is not yours and you have no right to do as you please. I want to have a say. All the civil servants and ministers and MPs, your salary is paid by taxpayers’ money and I am a taxpayer, I contributed part of your salary, you cannot anyhow spend your salary without my permission ok?

KNN, I am also confused. So, please tell me the money in my CPF account belongs to who? Who has the right to use it, spend it or use it to buy Medishield Life or CPF Life? Oh dear, if the entity that decides how to spend the money must be the owner of the money, then I retract my question. Sorry, take it that I never ask. It just confirms that the money is not my money because I cannot or did not decide or give permission for the CPF to buy CPF Life and Medishield Life Insurance for me. And yes, I also cannot decide when I can take out the money and how much I want to take out for my own use. So, on these grounds it is not my money. Tiok Boh?

This is the first time when the ownership of a person’s life time savings is in question, and it seems that the Govt or the CPF has a right to it. Not my money. But why the Govt says it is my money, or at least dare not say it is not my money, or says it is the Govt’s money? Not my money mah!

The money in the CPF is like in no man’s land, dunno who is the rightful owner. Got like that meh? While the Parliament is sitting, can the ministers clarify this for once, whose money is it? And if it is the members’ money, what right can the Govt decide how and when it wants to spend it on things the Govt compulsorily made the members to pay for it? Who gives the Govt this right to spend the members’ money on CPF Life and Medishield Life?

What do you think? Keep beating the drums that the money does not belong the the CPF members and after sometime the people will get use to it and will convince themselves that the money do not belong to them but to whoever that has the audacity to take it by hook or by crook. A lie when repeated often enough will be taken as the truth.

I think a legally trained mind must be cleverer than the ignorant and daft untrained mind. The daft Sinkies must get use to this new interpretation of your money, oops, not your money, but the money in your CPF account, is not entirely yours. Other entities also got a share to it. Maybe the employers can take it back. Maybe the charitable Govt that contributed $200 into it can have a controlling say over it.

Tiok Boh? This must be another uniquely daft Sinkie thinking.

  5. Using Chia Yong Yong's analogy, she could say that most of your savings are also not yours, but belong to the companies who paid your salaries, the banks who paid your interest, etc..
Company CPF contributions ARE yours, as they are part of your salaries. Government top-ups ARE yours as government has no money, "their" money is tax-payers money, I.e. YOURS.

When will voters understand that any money the govt, so-called. "gives" Is tax-payers money, not PAP's money

  7. Please lah.Long long before CYY says so, I already said it in blogs .If I know my Garmen likes to hear that, I would have started my own blog just for this topic.
CYY must have read my posting and copy what I said .Typical housewife .
CPF actually is like a tontine or tax to me.
    Its your employer who contribute.
Go to the night Court on Wednesday and see how many pathetic towkays begging for adjournment when they have problem to contribute Cpf in time.
Has anyone contribute cpf monthly or has a giro account to contribute your so claim Cpf?
No right.Who and how many has?
Its your kind employer who are burden to contribute.
And CPF will act kind as if they are monitoring your CPF by writing to you to inform you that they are diligent and found your employer did not contribute but actually it's that the employer facing difficulty to pay in time.Employer are shamed becos of that.

Go work harder and longer hour to show gratitude to your employer instead of dreaming its yours.
If you want talk about owners, the money BELONGS to our EMPLOYERS.
You put money in bank its yours.Employers put money in CPF its theirs.Simple logic.

  10. One thing is certain. However much, often and loud they can drum, CPF will always remain the people's money in the people's mind.

If they cannot, after decades of campaign, to convince people to stop littering, have more children, put their kids in neighbourhood schools instead of elite schools, the drumming will fail for sure. Unless.....

People can even disown their parents, but not money. They swear by it, die for it, kill for it and do any kind of evil to own more of it.

  13. straycatsgp, thanks for the clarification. The Govt took your money thru tax, gave to you by putting up some numbers in your CPF and now has the right to control your CPF, your CPF is now not yours.

    Uniquely Singapore. Singapore boleh.

  14. @ redbean:

Sorry to sound like a bigger asshole than what so many people already think...

What have I been saying all these years? Huh?

Years, ok. More than 15 years already. Thank you MP Chia. I feel vindicated. Stephen Hawking is also in a wheelchair, and also smart :-)

And BTW, didn't I also say that to avoid a "crisis" the govt will hang onto the money for as long as possible? Now Chia vindicates me AGAIN by STRESSING that "flexibility" in the CPF system is UNWISE.

    You go gal!

Is this why the PAP government does not want so many UK trained lawyers in Singapore?
Is it true more lawyers in Singapore means more Singaporeans will have more access to justice?

  17. if you want to get your CPF money back, the choice is clear.

  18. In 2014, Both our Super-Expensive Minister Lim Swee Say and Super-Expensive Minister Tan Chuan Jin in no uncertain terms said that our CPF Savings are our money.

Now, this balls-carrying PAP-staunch-supporter suffering from a physical deficiency (and perhaps also mental deficiency) is being praised by our Super-Expenseve Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, (who is still recovering from his second bout of cancer) and the Super-Expensive Minister Ng Eng Hen for saying that our hard-earned blood-and-sweat life-long CPF savings ARE NOT OUR MONEY!!!!!?????

    WHAT THE FUUCCKK IS THIS???!!!

PAP Ministers, especially PM Lee Hsien Loong,

YOU GUYS HAD BETTER GET YOUR ACTS CORRECT AND RIGHT.

DON'T PLAY WITH WORDS AND DON'T TRY TO USE YOUR SUPER-BRAINS TO INSULT THE CITIZENS' COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE.

THIS IS GOING TO COST YOUR VERY DEARLY IN THE COMING GENERAL ELECTIONS.

  19. CPF is not your money. Lovely! I'd love to see the PAP campaigning on that position in the coming GE.

Roy will probably have a field day writing countless posts on this topic alone. LOL.

  20. Such stupid NMPs should be booted out of our Parliament. They only served their masters and not the people. Their remarks revealed their true nature. Sickening lot!

    1. How to boot out NMP?

As commented by some, NMP is a SCHEME by the Incumbent to install bootlickers in the Cabinet.

CANT VOTE THEM OUT. So how?

  21. NMP Chia Yong Yong, or any PAP MP for that matter, can say what they like what.

And as long as the Sinkie opposition is not ready to be govt, there is also no danger of the PAP being voted out, tio bo?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Once the Sinkie opposition is ready to be govt, 60% for sure will vote the PAP out and the new govt can abolish the NMP scheme. That's how.

Who "nominates" these law makers into our parliament?
If they are nominated, who do they represent?
Do they represent Singaporeans or the committee who nominated them?

  27. No malice intended. This is just a warning of possible Karma and Retributions:

Yong Yong you any how say things without thinking of the millions of people who are suffering under this Dictatorship of the Proletariat, a Party Dictatorship, of a Real Communist Party in disguise as a Social-Elitist and/or Parliamentary Demon-crazy.

The Almighty Up-Above already awarded you with the Physical Disability for what you have done in your past life times. Yet you are still not afraid and repent.

You had better be very careful what you think and say in Parliament and Public. Because if you don't The Almighty Up-Above will give you your "Just Deserts" in Your Future Life Times.

What you have said in the Parliament will affect the livelihood and life of millions of people.

Based on Karma and Retribution, The Almighty Up-Above may award you with more disabilities in your Future Lives, in parallel with your thoughts and your speech (Mental and Verbal Disabilities).

Better repent NOW and ask for FORGIVENESS a few millions of times, one count each for each person's life your speech will impact upon.

Believe or not, it is up to you.

Don't say you have not been warned.
