CPF – Why must the people beg for the return of their money?

CPF is the people’s money, a life time of savings. What makes the few elected individuals think they have the right to decide on what to do with the people’s money? Tell us, the people who put their money in the CPF, who are you and what right have you, how clever are you, to keep our money at your fancy, that you know best how much the people can have their money back, and how much to return to the people?

WHO ARE YOU? WHAT ARE YOU? Are you God, supernatural, human beans of abnormal intelligence? To me you are just boys and girls who happened to be elected by the blind voters to form the govt. Period. Do not act too smart or smug. You are ordinary like every Sinkie, nothing more, nothing less. Stop behaving and acting like smart asses.

It is high time to stop all the wayang and committees to look into the CPF money and how to keep them and not to return to the people. There is no good reason to keep the money that belongs to the people. Return the money to their rightful owners. It is the right of the people to decide what they want to do with their life savings, to take it all out or to put in the CPF. You just provide the alternatives and the choice is with the owners of the money. No one has the right to dictate to the people on the use of their money. It is NOT your money. Keep your paws away.

I say this to you boys and girls, before you start to think clever, to have bright ideas about other people’s money, ask yourself this question,

WHO ARE YOU?

    ANSWER
    Because 60% voted PAP.
I always say if you want your CPF money back at 55 years old, you have to vote Opposition.

  2. If we think deeper I would prefer they Cheongkong all CPF and give free healthcare for all local born Sinkies from the day they are born.
Help to think of solution instead of giving pressure on them lah.
The response at HLP shows that many are not unhappy about the decision to have their cpf hold back.
As such Cheong kong all Cpf and give free healthcare for life.No need complicated medi insurance.
    Give them a break.

  4. WHO ARE YOU?
    RB

    Answer is below:

Mr Low said: "I think we have a competent Government...The Workers' Party (WP) is not ready to be the next government or an alternative one.
He explained: "It is not a General Election. People in Punggol East have no worries (that), if I vote some other way, I might accidentally throw out the Government."
Low Thia Khiang, speaking to the media before going on a parade to thank Punggol East residents for choosing WP's Lee Li Lian.

  5. In principle, I concur with RB. CPF is our money and it is not the right of the government to withhold after the agreed age. No matter what the good reasons they may have.

If the government really have a heart to protect our money from being spent unwisely, the retirement plans that they have introduced should not be forced upon us but sell them to us as part of the welfare scheme. It is for people to decide if they want to take part. For the rich, they probably would not be interested but for others the schemes may make sense. The idea is that government fulfill their obligation by returing people their CPF at the agreed date and allows people to enter a scheme to manage their retirement, if so wish.

    Anon 9:15 am

But 60% had decided last GE that they want to vote in PAP as govt to force upon them the retirement plans that PAP have introduced.

Anon 9:15 am, so who are you to decide otherwise?

  8. ANGRY NOT! ANGRY NOT!

    Slowly Slowly Talk Lah!

It really very simple to solve
    the cpf issues.

    But must FIRST think-out-of-the-
box and THEN must have strong
    will to do it!

    Follow this.....

At age 55, allow cpf members the
option to withdraw up to a max of
    50% of their cpf funds.

The remaining funds in their cpf
    will earn an ATTRACTIVE interest
rate of 6% pa. Those wanting 100%
    withdrawal can apply. Optional!

At age 65, allow cpf members the
    option to withdraw the remaining
    funds in their cpf.

Cpf members can leave their funds
    with cpf earning an ATTRACTIVE
    interest rate of 8% pa.

Age 65 and beyond, cpf members
can withdraw any amount of their
    remaining cpf funds each month
through ATMs. Our banks can help.

    Don't set-up anymore high-level
    committees to introduce new
    additional and complicated
schemes that will cause much much
    confusions among the masses.

    Deserved considerations.

    We Can Do It!

    Cheers.

  9. 60% have lots of money in their bank account, or they foresee that they will have a lot in their bank account on retirement.

Hence they no need to withdraw their CPF money, so they will leave it in the CPF to earn higher interest even after retirement, tio bo?

CPF pays min 2.5% and max 5% interest u know. Where to get this type of returns with no risk outside CPF, u tell me lah?

  12. The son is doggedly perpetuating the mindset and policies of the father. They will decide what's right or wrong for the people and for themselves. They are the elite and only they have the brains to decide what's best for daft Singaporean beans. No way you can change their mind.

Tan Kin Lian has highlighted the superiority of the Malaysian system. It's simple and they allow the owners to withdraw at 55 years. But with good interest returns, it serves as an excellent investment vehicle for most people who will keep their money beyond 55 years.

    >> Return the money to their rightful owners.

The money is already in the hands of the "rightful owners". :-)

The People don't "own" their cpf lah. They never really have, and never really will.

  15. Agongkia has a good point that those incharge of CPF and CPF Members should look into.

As suggested by Agongkia, all CPF CONTRIBUTIONS ARE TO FUND ALL MEDICAL EXPENSES OF CITIZENS NO MATTER THEIR CONDITIONS AND CAUSES, IT MAKES GOOD SENSE.
ALL HOSPITALS SHALL SAVE A LOT OF BUREAUCRATIC PROCESSES. Wards shall all be uniform and so are medicines, treatments and all other services including ambulance and aftercares.

Agongkia has indeed comes up with a very WORTHY IDEA. I WISH THAT HIS SUGGESTION WILL GET THE ATTENTION IT DESERVES.

  19. Hi RB, opinion from afar.

Life in Singapore is not simple. There are those who think that they are managing your CPF for the good of the Singaporeans. Of course Singaporeans have the right to manage their own money that is in the CPF. However, those kind hearted people managing the country think that they are doing Singaporeans a favour by guarding and protecting their CPF from indiscriminate extravagance, cheats, mei meis and other clever conmen. Well, the Singaporeans voted them in to manage your CPF, so you should not grumble too much when they decide what is best for you. If you think that they are not doing the job well, then you put your X against the person you think best suits the country. You wil have your chance in the next GE. In the meantime, you have o accept whatever they dish out for you. What choice do you have?

  20. Evil man needs henchman to
    stay in business.
    Villian needs supporter to survive.

The Blame should be on the
    Henchman and Supporter, NOT
    the Evil or the Villian.

'The Sheeples deserve the Government they chose'.
    Sounds familiar?

  21. I agree that Singaporeans should elect those people that are there to serve them and not to rule them.

It takes a long time to unmask the jokers and jesters exploiting the people for their own good.
