China’s Total Defence is Real

We have heard of Total Defence before but it seems that this is history going by the things that are happening in the country. Foreigners are swarming every sector of the economy, from sitting in top GLCs and ministries to the highly sensitive IT staff in the country’s financial system. One is reminded of the worms all over the place, hiding inside the system and eating up the core or waiting to destroy everything in their path.

In a Bloomberg report on 19 Dec and posted in the Today paper, it reported ‘China is aiming to purge most foreign technology from banks, the military, state owned enterprises  and key govt agencies by 2020, stepping up efforts to shift to Chinese suppliers.’ Microsoft’s Window operating system, Apple’s iPads, security systems by Cisco, IBM, Intel and Hewlett Packard applications, middleware and infrastructure software and hardware are all on the chopping list. Foreign suppliers could avoid being replaced if they allowed China’s security inspectors to access their products and core technology.

IT security is a serious business and how pervasive is American intelligence penetration around the world, peeping into other countries’ secrets could be a warning with the exposure by Edward Snowden. Only fools will think the Americans are priests and have a halo on their heads and their security systems in the govt and the economy are free and safe from attacks.

What are we doing to our Total Defence or has it been dumped into the wastebin? Our national defence cannot be just the army boys. What kind of Total Defence are we talking about when armies of foreigners are living and working among us and infiltrated throughout all the industries, in the govt and GLCs and occupying high positions and very sensitive services. And some are clamouring that foreigners should be in uniforms. Our IT is as good as being outsourced to foreigners by bringing them here in plane loads to operate inside our system and country. Can they turn hostile one day? I bet the intelligent fools will swear it will not happen. Give them a pink IC and they will become one of us. Safe already.

Have we surrender ourselves to technology and the need of foreign talents that our securities are no longer something to protect and secure? Would Total Defence be spoken again or forever be dismantled? How exposed and vulnerable are our systems throughout the country, in the govt and outside the govt?

Are the Chinese doing something foolish to secure their national security that we do not think is necessary? I think hotels too have their security systems in place to prevent a break in or everything being stolen.

Where are we, where is our Total Defence when the enemies are within, like worms inside us? We don’t only operate foreign operating systems but have foreigners operating them and manning them for us, and taking charge.

  2. Dont be so simple leh.

No germ in the body then there will be no doctor, medical equipment and research job to do.

Must create more problems for more people to work, promotion and become specialists. Increase consumptions. Who cares about the country when ones pockets are full.
If there are no enemy in computer games, what good is our military commanders, no war to fight, how to be generals? Must create virtual enemies and tell the people that they must do National Service.
Creation of trouble and problem equal creations for employment and business. Commonsense oni.

No problem when enemies are within, for they are all within shooting distance. Like our army can be activated on the People if they vote against the Regime. Easily contain; what to worry?

  3. China is forward looking. If depends on foreigners esp. USA,
what happens if they decide to
sanction China. China is a dead duck.
Look at Russia, they are out to
destroy it. If they succeed the next one will be China.
    Way to go President Xi.

  5. Even if Bee Kok really want to bankrupt and destroy Russia, China is not going to let it happen and do nothing. Some say the plunge of oil price is targeted at Russia but some also say it is aimed at Bee Kok shale oil. Anyway China sees the siao Jepunkia and the Indians cozying up and the Tiongkoklang feeling very uneasy woh! So Russia and China really need each other now

  9. I doubt they'll be so drastic. China needs the world to keep prospering, even though its domestic economy is growing.

Nothing makes a cuntry richer faster than trading with "outsiders". Trading means selling them stuff and buying the stuff from them which will make your lives much beter -- like software, hardware, etc.

Anyway by 2016 US Foreign policy could change if someone like Rand Paul becomes president, and America withdraws from all the cuntrees she has bases in. Sure it's a long shot, but no one can predict the future with 100% certainty -- especially politics.

I also simply for one moment do not believe that the young people of China are going to give up private ownership (ie no govt intrusion) iPads, iPhones and other gadgets using "foreign technology" or that the private Chinese business space--who are damn good at making LOTS OF MONEY--will give up their foreign tech to have it "infected" by worms and trojans placed there by PRC Tech Inspectors. No, i just can't see that happening.

And if they ban all that stuff, what about Hong Kong? Do you seriously believe that those feisty Cantonese are going to "obey" the apparatchiks in Beijing? No lah, there'll be fighting and killing before that even happens.

And what then of the local suppliers of foreign tech? They will in effect be a CRONY CARTEL sanctioned by the Chinese govt and given full protection. .Can you imagine the amount of corruption which will occur??

This is XENOPHOBIA run amok. To suspect that everything coming into your cuntree is a potential dangerous threat is simply INSANE lah.

  10. BTW NeoKylin the Chinese developed OS for govt and military is based on Berkeley Software Distribution (from UC Berkeley, California US of A) FreeBSD Linux.

Well, at least they made the right choice: from foreign components ;-) BSD---> USA, Linux---> Finland, Linus Torvald creator of Linux.

I'm kinda happy that they fucked Microsoft off and chose Linux. Open Source some more.

    Way to go China!

    RB

The most important total defence for u-no-hu is for Teochew Ah Hia to be and remain as the leader of the strongest Sinkie opposition party.

Once this is defended, or other defences, or no defence, is secondary.

    RB

Since PAP has the mandate from the 60%, they have all the credentials to define what is Total Defence for Sinkieland.

Who knows, maybe if RB were in PM Lee's shoes, he might not have ask the above question.

  15. In the 60s, the domino effect was communism sweeping down southeast asia and the world.

Now different. domino effect is rich communist sweeping across the world with money to spend. China is rich, Vietnam will be rich, Cubans will be rich.

    Poor Americans, poor western world.

  18. Thanks in no small part to Chinese parents sending their children to Australia for a 'western' education, fees from overseas students provide the third largest export income for that country.

  20. 'Vietnam, Cuba will be rich'.

Spent 8 days in Danang and Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese are arriving.

Incidentally me was there with a friend who sent his son there for dental treatment which was oso the Purpose of my visit there.

Do allow me to relate the Reason for seeking dental treatment in other countries. My friends' 5 year old son was quoted $4000(FOUR THOUSANDS) by KANDANG KERBAU HOSPITAL. Reason offered for the High Cost was that General Anaesthetia was required.
I know dental treatment is extremely expensive in Sin with occasional Jover liked dentists preying on patients. Recall the lady charged $600 by a dentist located at Tampines?
After KKH, the Friend brought his Son to a private dental clinic, incidentally oso located at Tampines and was told some 30% discount can be given on the Quotation by KKH. That meant it will still cost $2,800. As me wanted treatment myself, we decided to head to Ho Chi Minh for treatment.

In the End, my Friend paid $50 Sgd for his son's treatment of 4 teeth.

I did 3 Root Canals, 3 Porcelain Crowns, 7 Fillings and Restoration, all for $1, 200Sgd. The Dental Clinic is a Upmarket Outfit which is about 50% higher than the Average.

Before my Friends Kid and me left for HCM, I read a Fb member related his friend having only paid 2(two)Ringgit which is around $0.70(seventy cents) SinDollar for having his teeth done up in Malaysia.

There is MADNESS in the Dentistry Services in Sin. THERE IS NO WAY THAT I CAN BELIEVE A 5 YEAR OLD KID WITH 4 MILK TEETH TREATMENT WOULD GET A FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS QUOTATION FROM A MATERNITY AND CHILD HOSPITAL. BUT, IT WAS NO KIDDING MATTER.

THE QUOTATION WAS IN BLACK AND WHITE.

  23. Cost of dental treatment in Sinkieland is high because the dentists know that Sinkies cannot find any much cheaper ones in Sinkieland, unless they go overseas. But many don't.

Salary of Sinkie ministers is high because they know that Sinkies cannot find any cheaper parties which is ready to be govt, unless they emigrate. But many don't.

Cheaper no doubt, but I am also concerned about issues of quality and standards. For dental treatment, these may not be evident until some years later. And it cost money to fix them.
