I thought about it for one whole night and finally got the answer to
alternative parties’ problem of not enough good quality candidates. Now I
cannot ‘tahan’, must quickly type out my solutions to solve their
headaches. The most basic problem is that alternative parties dare not
dream big and think big. They think they got no money, not enough strong
candidates, so go slow and steady, ‘poon pee pee’. I say think big and
go for it and attract the big boys, the super talents, the successful
professionals, those earning multi million dollars, by offering them
better pay, better terms to join politics, fast track to ministership.
They must be prepared to take PAP by the horns and do better. What the
PAP can do, they must offer more.
It all boils down to the political organisation structure. The
alternative parties must not be shy and say they cannot be the govt or
when they become the govt, screwed up everything as predicted by all the
expert analysts, see them no up. Then ‘kena’ booted out again in the
next GE, easy come easy go. What I am going to suggest would sure to
bring them all the super talents they need to prove to the expert
analysts that alternative parties also can buy super talents to serve.
The solution, provide a lot of opportunities to be appointed as
ministers or as appointment holders. PAP offers only one PM and 13
ministers and 5 mayors I think. Change the organisation structure to one
PM, 3 Dep PMs, 20 ministers, 40 dep ministers, (two to one minister),
20 ministers of states and also 40 deputy ministers of states, and 20
mayors. Like that all the super talents see also ‘lau nuar’, I mean
salivate. Practically everyone can be an appointment holder other than
just be MPs. Then no need to work so hard to go and collect
directorships, so ‘malu’. And some more people make unsavoury remarks if
take up too many directorships and, ‘lagi terok’, no time to attend
Parliament. Always apply leave for board meetings and got criticisms by
people watching Parliament in session. And poor Speaker sometime sleepy
never count attendance then got no quorum also dunno. Make the Speaker’s
job very ‘susah’.
And if the above is not enough, tell them that PM can also be promoted
to Senior PM with more pay, or have 3 PMs to go round, Ministers to
Senior Ministers, Mayor to Senior Mayors or Chief Mayors to manage all
the Mayors. Like that sure ‘jalan’ one.
Where to find the money? What money? You are already the govt, all the
money is your money, like your Ah Kong’s company. All the assets and
reserves and taxes are your money to give to attract the best talents
money can buy. And the people cannot complain either. The people will
know all these are good for them and also to prevent corruption. When
spending OPM, no need to be ‘khek khee’ 客气one, just spend lah. Make
every cent worth spending. Just 3 plates of char kway teow only.
I think if alternative parties take my recommendations, sure a lot of
super talents will join them. The carrot always works, the bigger the
carrot the better the results. And with so many layers of appointments,
can promote them every year to make them happy and laughing to the
banks.
What do you think? ‘Swee swee’. All the super talents will form a long queue for tea sessions to be selected.

ReplyDeleteTalk Big Do Big
"Everything-Die-Die-Must-Be-Big".
If the alternative parties want
to have a chance in the coming
GE, they must not only dream big
and think big, they must also
Talk Big, Do Big and "Everything-
Die-Die-Must-Be-Big".
Remember:
Dream Big
Think Big
Talk Big
Do Big
"Everything-Die-Die-Must-Be-Big".
Cheers.
The solution, provide a lot of opportunities to be appointed as ministers or as appointment holders.

Your solution tak jalan and buay kia(cannot work) lah.
Because u forgot that there are many Sinkie opposition parties, and not just one.
Assuming all can win, can they even agree on who will become PM, let alone DPM, ministers, deputy ministers and so on? Sure fight one what, and Sinkies will suffer from it, tio bo?
And some more ah, even before they can win to be govt, Teochew Ah Hia is not even ready to meet up with Hainan Ah Ko, despite Ah Ko's olive branch to all opposition parties.
Like that how to form govt, even if 60% want to give them the chance, u tell me lah?
So cannot really blame the 60% if they were to vote PAP again next GE.
Tiok.
ReplyDeleteThat's why opposition parties must be big big, like PAP. Big big and contest 100% seats as one party, and not as many parties.
If not ah, they will lose 93% seats, just like in 2011, even though they contested almost 100% seats.
If an alternative party can contest 100% seats by themselves as one party, there is a 93% chance that 60% will vote for them and tell the rest, including PAP, to go fly kite.
As an Aljunied resident, I am very disappointed that till now, Teochew Ah Hia is not ready (or is it not willing?) to meet up with Hainan Ah Ko, despite Ah Ko's olive branch.
ReplyDeleteSo disappointed that I may want to vote PAP rather than WP next GE.
IMO, forget "alternative parties" lah. Most of them are doomed to fail. Look at the Reform Party -- all big noise and bluster, now not even the sound of a fart from them.
ReplyDeleteThe best strategy IMO is for single, independents to run. If you have a number of them running -- all independently -- that would be a better chance for the parliament to become more "pluralistic".
H. L. Mencken said 'Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under.', therefore you want enough DIFFERENT people in parliament to scare the govt., nutjobs should be welcomed with open arms.
In the last 2 Aust elections the independents gave a damn good show. They are the necessary thorns in the side of the assembly. One guy in particular is completely FEARLESS -- billionaire Clive Palmer. He has turned up to parliament in his Rolls Royce like The King, pissing off all the yaya papayas on the front bench. He is the master of the silent "fuck you" to authority :-)
Singapore politics would be a much more interesting place if someone like that got elected.
This is interesting.Another Lui Bin who only gila about high salary and think only good money can attract talent.Kannasai.
ReplyDeleteLook for people like me lah.No talk money type.
So easy nia tee oso can become ChongThong.
Go get those who are willing to sacrifice without the need to be highly paid lah.
Nia Tee if given a chance is willing to serve less than 8 k per month.,as Mpee or PorTio.
Can sompah oso.Balance salary can help resident.
But oppo party no standard yet.looling party say must be highly paid.I paiseh to be highly paid so cannot join them.Wasted my talent.
Go with the flow lah. Why want to be losers like you? You think smart people want to sacrifice like poor buggers like you? Seow.
ReplyDeleteI support RB aka Chua Chin Leng's brilliant idea.
ReplyDeleteIn addition, I propose to include RB's kopi levy to incentivise the MPs. No more free meet the people session or referral letters. See MP must pay. Want MP's letter must also pay. Foreigners pay double since they do not elect the MPs,
What do you think? Boleh Jalan?
ReplyDeleteoldhorse42 3.18pm pls note....
if the MP letters can "jalan", I think people don't mind to pay.....
don't laugh don't laugh, yr idea of charging a fee at MPSs is indeed very very brilliant....
cheers.....
As long as Ah Kong is paying, how much also can. 3 PMs very good idea. WP Low can be PM1, SDP Chee can be PM2, SFP Tan JS can also be PM3 if opposition wins. Every party happy. Singapore got big reserves. Money cannot finish.
ReplyDeleteOnly the daft cannot see what RB is talking about. So pathetic.
ReplyDeleteGov are setup to balance the needs of corporations and people but these days they are just dogs for the big corporations, bullying the people to enrich the big corporations. Best to learn from Matilah and live in Oz and earn money in Sg and have dual/triple residencies. No need to be held hostage by any gov. Gov are just lawful robbers.
