A little degree problem

One company worked up one day to find that all its top management and senior staff did not have degrees. The degrees they declared in their CVs were all fakes. They only found this out when the govt started to check on their qualifications.

So how to solve this problem? They went to the ministry and told them that their staff were all competent, very good workers and knew their jobs very well. They didn’t need to have any degrees. And they were very happy with all the staff in their employ. They would have to close down their business if they could not keep their no degree staff.

The ministry panic. How, the company would have to relocate and there would be one company less and many jobs would be lost. And horrors of all horrors, many companies are also in the same situation, with many staff with fake degrees.

What is the solution?

PS. This story is fictional.

  1. Hi RB, speed. Please get your imagination under control. How can the Singapore government which is noted for its strict control and scrutiny possibly make such an error, by allowing people with fake degrees into the country ? Please do not let you imagination run wild.

  2. Hi Speed, your imagination is more superior to mine lah. This is a fictional story and nothing to do with Singapore lah.

    What have you been reading?

  5. One country woke up one day to find that all its top ministers and senior civil servants did not have any moral backbone or mind of their own.
The oath of office they made were of no use in protecting the country or the citizens.
This country's citizens only found this out when they voted in Opposition MPs to start checking on their government.

  6. Hi RB, sorry about that, I just used your blog to provoke my teacher.

I believe RB is a person with courage and social justice, as seen from his blog.

As for our institution like NUS/NTU, they are still destroying young Singaporeans. I have removed all my offensive posts after I achieved my intention.

If people in civil service and NUS/NTU can have a thought for the young Singaporeans like RB, we will be a better country.

  7. Hi Veritas, I share your reservations and fear. But I have nothing to prove it. The only thing is to see that things are going wrong, very wrong, right at the head. When the head is crazy or mad, everything will go wrong and everyone suffers.

And I am seeing many crzay heads in charge. It is good to talk about the madness that is going on around us and the crimes committed by the crazy heads. They need to be exposed and must not be allowed to get away lightly.

We must not allow them to destroy our country and our lives and our children's lives.

This is our country, our home.

  8. But their final destination is not sg but oz. Recent check with police dept can confirm that. They need to provide pcc from the country that they live more than one year.

  9. Michael Heng is my teacher NTU screwed Mike. He seen what happened in NTU. And Mike is your friend. Also I think you are a good man, so your friend has a special place in my heart. I give your friend faces. Else I will not remove my postings.

Fucking NTU professor bring me no benefit today, as I am really comfortable. My concern is how many young people these fuckers are still screwing and screwing non stop.

Go look at the God damned EMERL (Electromagnetic Effects Research Laboratory), only one post grad has Singaporean sounding names.

I have been working on in this field for long. I know most of the NTU/NUS PHDs left Singapore.

Now this Mike is your friend and my teacher. I hope he still have heart for Singaporeans. He is writing blogs and I hope to see him exposing NTU.

He should do something for Singaporeans. None the less, there are still good teachers like AP Leonard Chin.

To all teachers, treat your students well, love your students, make them successful and they will repay you more than what you have given.

  10. The government policy right now further confirm my doubts that PAP want to make us dalits, and deprive us of education. Now, PAP recent campaign to keep us off college has further confirm my suspicious.

TO MAKE IT SIMPLE. PAP does not fear people like Mas Selamat. PAP fear citizens. If citizens are educated, these will be PAP nightmare.

Hence there is a concert evil plan, to stop Singaporeans from doing post graduates. The plan was implemented by NUS/NTU. Fail as many students as possible, give them very low grade.

So that our students cannot even qualify for oversea junk university. Next flood the post grad with as many FT as possible.

How many of us has seen "O level fail king" go Australia now become lawyers, PHDs or medical doctors?

  11. "They would have to close down their business if they could not keep their no degree staff."
    RB

    Tiok.

And for the same reasons the Sinkie govt would have to close down if 60% did not vote PAP.

Or else how to run the govt if the opposition which is not ready get voted in as govt, u tell me lah?

  12. Just imagine what kind of govt, if instead of PAP, the opposition had won 93% seats in GE 2011.

Ya lah, but u and many like minded Sinkies had been doing that by blogging since 2005, tio bo?

Yet 60% still voted for PAP in GE 2011!

So like that how not to allow them to get away lightly, u tell me lah?

  14. It is a dynamic situation. many people have been enlightened. many pp have changed and no longer blind. The senior officers in the govt, in the uniform groups, in ISD, in the civil service, need to win these people over to the side of the people.

They too have families and children and they must think of them and their future.

  16. Time to shed this "degree fixation"

    P. S. The article relates to reality. It is not fiction.

  17. I fully agree with you. A piece of paper is nothing. Actually I want to post an article on this but since this is a current issue, let me post it now to support your stand that a piece of paper is not important.

  18. Whence Degrees are as common as toilet papers, its worth is as much.
Anyway, with so many private universities dishing out Degrees like toilet papers found at public toilets, no big deal lah except those in specialized fields.

  19. The world and the working world is changing.

If you are a "knowledge" worker, you're competing globally. If you are have a trade or
fix it" skill like plumber or electrician, your competition is only "local" e.g. radius of approx 20-30 km.

In cuntrees like Oz -- many skilled tradepeople like "sparkies" (electricians) make as much or more than DEGREE holding engineers.

When I first came here as a young fucker, I got as many "tickets" (trade certification) and back in the old days I've been an earth driller, heavy equipment operator, commercial painter, real estate broker wake up early morning and work but earn BIG BUCKS (AUD 10k + a month) especially in the mines and outback.

Then I did a silly thing and returned to Singapore as an "expat" and in 1997 just before Asian Currency Crisis the company I work for goes tits up bust. All out of job!

In Singapore, people generally still snobbish. If you are a hawker or a plumber or electrician, all the presumptuous pricks "look down" on you.

Singapore still has "paper degree fixation" thanks to the bigoted, narrow minded PAP.

PAP...got hawker? No?. I thought so.

So are PAP talents knowledge workers ... competing globally?

Or are PAP talents only useful within the 20 km radius (size of Singapore).
Only PAP got use for these PAP talents because their skill is so specialized, they are unemployable anywhere else in the world?
