Roy Ngerng being sued by Hsien Loong

Just got an email saying that Roy has received a letter from Davinder Singh of Drew and Napier, acting on behalf of Hsien Loong, suing him for defamation. The offending article is posted at Roy’s blog The Hard Truth and titled ‘Where your CPF money is going: Learning from the City Harvest Trial.’

Bloggers are advised to avoid being too direct in their articles or comments which could be seen as alleging some wrong doings and inviting lawsuits to themselves. Writing comments, being critical or cynical or humorous is one thing, to allege something criminal or illegal or defamatory is not advisable.

Some comments that are very personal and vicious are unnecessary. Let’s keep ourselves within the limits of decency. Well, unless you are banging with Matilah, then it is no holds bar. For other public personalities or private individuals, better not to cross the line.

Cheers.

  1. My advice to Roy and Hui Hui on their rally on CPF on 7 June to stick to issues, talk about the CPF system or regulations that they are uncomfortable with or wanting to change but stay clear of personalities or accusing anyone for any wrongdoings.

There is nothing wrong with disagreeing or wanting change for the better.

  2. Roy Gerng and Han Hui Hui may like to take Rb's Advice here.
And hopefully, Rb can meet them at Hong Lim Park on the Day to talk to Both of them personally.

  4. Hi RB, this is speedwing. I have been following your articles and my sincerely advice to you is to be very careful what you post. Sometimes very innocent ideas from one person, in the minds of highly paid lawyers could turn out to be personal and taken as an attack on character. If they want to hang a person, innocent comments in the hands of highly paid lawyers could turn out to be chargeable offences. So RB please be careful. I enjoy your articles, and it would be a shame for it to be outlawed.

  5. Another sign of election on the cards?

Is this the start of the blockbuster re-run or re-make called 'killing the rooster to teach the monkey?'

Of course the result of this case, I think, most people can make a correct guess.

But as for what it stands for, well, will it change the thinking on the ground?

  6. Now we see whether Singaporeans are worth fighting for.
Will we say Roy has a right to freely express himself?
Or will we continue to support the status quo?

How are you going to vote in GE 2016?

  10. @RB:

    >> Well, unless you are banging with Matilah, then it is no holds bar <<

    Yeah, motherfucker. Preach baby, preach!

Anyway, my best wishes and all the luck to Roy. Singapore's "conservative culture" is holding back many who have a burning desire to express, but dare not do so fro a whole plethora of different, mostly irrational, fears. However, you can't really heap all the blame on people. It is easy to "psychologically prime" those who gullible and are prone to being controlled by emotional manipulation.

Shit. I make my living by advising clients how to psychologically prime their audience/ customers and manipulate the sucker-fuckers to part with their money -- over and over again.

Theft is illegal. Theft of the mind by emotional manipulation is perfectly legal. :-))

  12. I just surfed over to The Hard Truths Blog. My opinion: Take the deal from the lawyer. After reading the CPF-City Harvest article, my opinion is that if it goes to court, Roy will lose.

  13. Matilar stop your incest talk fucking your mother lar. She has suffered enough through your years of abuse. If it make u feel better I think u should take the suggestion of writing the books especially chapter 2 if u are in that kind of thing.

However I hope that you would turn over the leaf and embrace god. God bless and spend more time on things that are useful like helping others in church or charity though I know with your involvement, it posed a risk to the woman folks there.

  14. Hi Speedwing, thanks for your concern. I have tried not to touch people's tail intentionally all the time. But like you said, even shouting out Matilah Singapura's nick here can get one into deep trouble if that is what people want to do to me. It is so easy.

I still believe that is a higher justice that will be called upon when the time is ripe. I don't believe in immortals that are immuned from the wrath of the invisible hand, of natural justice.

There are so many out there whose comments are really 'tock' and painful to read.

  15. Sinkies have to understand that the law here does not protect sinkies who said the wrong thing but protect non sinkies who burnt properties. This regime will have to be dealt with very tactfully because it is control by dark people who view certain sinkies (especially those bright color ones) as dirt. The PM is just a puppet and is directly controlled by dark people (FM, LM, D/singh). Learn to vote for a party that is not controlled by dark people next election else this place will become darker.

  18. Hi Anon 7:15,

Yes some comments have been crude and overboard. I hope my blogging kakis here will refrain from those expletives against the rulers and don't drag me to sleep with Sue.

Veritas have taken heed and avoided posting too inflammatory articles here. Thanks Veritas.

As for the others, please don't get too work up and personal. There is also the possibility that some of the harsh comments were done by IBs for their own agenda.

Thanks everyone for your ears and conscious effort to stay clean. Criticise, be angry, disagree, but don't hit below the belt.

    Kopi for everyone. Cheers.

  19. Redbean,
you must be daft to think that pinky sue because of defamation. Just look at the coincidence that once india ruling party get overthrown and immediately pinky sue the citizen. Pinky is very likely insecure after realizing that the same thing that can happen to India can also happen to PAP, and therefore resort to suing the citizens to instill fear, and at same time praying hard that foreigner-converted citizens vote for PAP to shore up the vote, otherwise how else can that explain why PAP treats foreigners better than sinkies.

sinkies really need to have critical thinking and smart enough to link the connection.

    read this

  20. Rumours that there is an attempt to get Roy Ngerng disqualified from standing as an opposition candidate in the coming general election

    Possible?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Questions:

Will this reduce the 60% support for the PAP next election?

Will it make the opposition stronger and more ready to be govt?

    What do u think?

  22. I would love to see Roy Ngerng in parliament.
He is a refreshing change in contrast to the old Fu Man Chu style of parliamentary debate.

Young people are the future of Singapore.
Only the young ones can save us from the vampire party.

Dedicate the song "Young Ones" by Cliff Richard to our Singapore Youth.

  23. Regime change or dynastic change is inevitable and only a matter of time. India is the latest in this age of change. Thailand, Myanmar and Malaysia akan datang. Singapore cannot escape this change.

Many dying dynasties esp the Qing, resorted to many repressive means to retain power. The stronger the repression, the greater the resistance. This is the Tao of historical change.

When it comes, there is no where to hide or run. Change it will be.

  24. Singapore cannot escape this change.
    RB 8:56 am

RB, u forget one thing lah. Very important thing.

In other countries, their fertility is above replacement rate. So they have strength in numbers. And growing.

However Sinkies have below replacement fertility rate. At this rate it is only a matter of time before Sinkies become extinct, let alone grow stronger. So where is the strength in numbers to make the change, u tell me lah?

In fact I think PAP, by importing large numbers of foreigners, has already given up on Sinkies as a force to be reckoned with already.

So if there is change, it will be the change made by foreigners, and for foreigners, not for Sinkies.

Tio bo, u tell me lah?

  25. Change will be effected by ALIENS sooner or later.
The Daughters or Sons-In-Law will usurp all.
As it is, there are many aliens(born outside Sg) in the Cabinet.
Ask Minister Khaw who rthymes with In-Law.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Other than PAP;
Does any Sinkie here really think the aliens will vote PAP for the next 50 years?

    Sinkies are daft.
60% still vote PAP after 50 years.
    - Are the aliens just as daft?

    - Or will they form another political party e.g Alien Party of Singapore to get even better benefits for themselves?
    - kicking out both Sinkies and PAP alike to form the new elite?

    - or poetic justice
    - the aliens take over PAP
    - kicking out the Lee family in the process

    ReplyDelete
  27. "Does any Sinkie here really think the aliens will vote PAP for the next 50 years?"

This is what PAP wants, do you think PAP care about whether foreigners will vote for PAP in next 50 years ? No, PAP is now surviving by breathing tube, and want to survive just each day, so what they care about the future when they are already in turmoil now ? Why do you think they quickly shore up the foreigners number even though the infrastructure can't handle them ?

  28. As always, when they see any sign of a potential rising opponent going against them, they start the ball rolling, using the same tactics.

This is blatant hitting below the belt, right on the two balls. Ouch!
