Fixing the Govt

I am sure everyone reading this will have their eyes popped out and couldn’t believe what they are seeing. I don’t think anyone can fix the govt intentionally as they would likely to be fixed instead if they dare to try. I don’t think any opposition party could do this either. We all know how the game is being played, the odds and what would be the consequences. And definitely not for me to fix the govt.

But the govt is being fixed and appears to be ignorant of it. Perhaps they could not see it in this light. Who then could be doing the fixing? We have all been kpkbing about the job market and how Sinkies have been fixed real bad by the foreigners and foreign owned recruitment agencies. But the real culprits include the CEOs of local and foreign companies who are condoning this practice of not hiring Sinkies and replacing Sinkies with foreigners and their own kind. They deliberately, either with one eye closed, or just turn and look the other way, or worse, even promoting it, to discriminate Sinkies in employment.

So the end result, many Sinkie professionals lost their jobs. When the number was small, they blamed themselves, thinking that they were really no good and the foreigners were really better. Today, when the truth is out, many are feeling very sore. And who would they blame? No need to give you this simple answer. Their unhappiness and anger, their feeling of being cheated and short changed, would be directed at the govt for sure. You can read it in the social media. And this will cost the govt dearly and the political price to be paid will be very high. Yes, the govt is being fixed when the people are being fixed. And the fixers are those employers who discriminate against Sinkies in employment.

The lackadaisical attitude of the govt to fix this problem only adds to the grievance of the victims. They may not see the correlation or did not think the people would turn against the govt. They would think that it is not the govt’s fault! From the way they are happily embracing the foreigners and sleeping with them, and keep welcoming them without hesitation speak for itself. It looks like they are blind or choose to be blind to what is happening and feeling very comfortable and secure with the situation. Yes the proverbial deaf frog, always doing the right thing.

As the anger grows against the foreigners for taking their good paying jobs away while they downgraded to underemployment, with many even forced into retirement, unable to find employment, it is a matter of time when they will be break free from their slumber and hapless state to make those who helped in condemning them to pay for it.

Those who fixed them will have to pay for their crimes. They would not be going after the employers and the recruitment agents. They would not want to know that it was the employers and the recruitment agents’ faults.

Who do you think they will go after or put the blame on? This is a simple case of being fixed by others and thinking they will get away with it. The govt appears to be a willing party to be fixed by the employers.

  1. If the CEO is a local Sinkie who hire foreign talents, then of course he is a smart Sinkie.

Under PAP, smart Sinkies know how to make money, or rather getting more value for their money.

Sinkies are expensive what, some more also no guarantee they will be better value, tio bo?

And as long as there are 60% smart Sinkies who are happy to make money, does it matter PAP govt is fixed or not fixed?

In fact perhaps PAP is even happy that these smart Sinkies can make money, or else if they cannot, they may join the opposition to make it strong to fight and replace PAP!

How high? At most 40% didn't vote PAP lah.

And that happened in 2011, when there was already great unhappiness and anger among Sinkies, their feeling of being cheated and short changed.

But since 2011, PAP already changed (maybe not much lah) for the better, tio bo?

So how much worse can it be for PAP next GE, u tell me lah?

Many yes, but still not enough to vote PAP out.

And even if there are more jobless Sinkies since 2011, but don't forget there are also more new citizens made by PAP since 2011.

    PAP sure win.

  4. Only a 10% shift will be good enough and it could mean a new govt.

  7. H.L. Mencken once wrote: “I believe that all government is evil, and that trying to improve it is largely a waste of time.”

The people who comprise government are same as us -- from similar backgrounds in the same culture. The difference is they have got MORE POWER than us, and we know what POWER does even to the most well-intentioned person: It CORRUPTS them.

The best you can do as an individual and (hopefully) as a society is toe LIMIT the influence of government in your life.

If you want to be free, then you have to be responsible. If you rather be a slave, then turn to government everytime you have a need to be fulfilled, and don't even bother about taking voluntary action and forming voluntary associations with others. So bow down to your government and ask for (demand):

    1. Healthcare
    2. Education
    3. Job
    4. Social security
    5. Transport
    6. Housing
    7. Anything else -- just yell "tolong, tolong" and like magic a civil servant will appear to cater to your whim. ;-)

The Sheeple are many. They are blur. They have cognitive dissonance. They bleat loudly. They are never satisfied. They believe their own bullshit, because to be a loser, you need to be a victim and find a big bad enemy to blame for your own short-comings and lack of spirit to try, fail and get up and try again until you succeed.

Therefore: The Sheeple Get The Government They Deserve

"Giving every man a vote has no more made men wise and free than Christianity has made them good."
    H. L. Mencken

Mencken was a witty fellow when it came to quotes about governments. Our present-day "sage" of similar leanings is P. J. O'Rourke.

"Feeling good about government is like looking on the bright side of any catastrophe. When you quit looking on the bright side, the catastrophe is still there."
    P. J. O'Rourke

Seriously folks, do you know how by experience and instinct, there are people who you know and do not trust?

Well, what about the government? It comprises largely of people whom you DO NOT know. Why the fuck are you trusting them? You have to be insane!

  8. Hi anon 10:13, why u not smart enough to be your own boss?

Then u can hire foreign talents to make money or get more value for money.

That's what smart Sinkies do if they are retrenched or force to retire. Under PAP policies, u can make money, even lots of it, if u are smart.

  9. The smart Sinkies are those that are paid millions without having to work, maybe just talking oock once a while.

    1. Right, right, right, invest lots of properties to rent out.

Whether to foreigners or locals who formed so called enclaves and brought miseries to their neighbours. As long as you made monies. That's the most important.

Do not be surprised that the white attire millionaires owned dozens of these properties to collect rents and same time talked of tweaking policies of not forming enclaves.

Local developers cannot compete with the foreign ones in overseas projects so need government's protection in not having too many cooling measures to fleece the buyers.

kampong developers only struct around in own backyards to fleece their own kind which in turn made a vicious circle to also fleece their own fellow men.

Other developers gained capital incomes from oversea projects. Ours in league with the whites for local projects and called them contributing to the GDP

Joining the Opposition is a good idea.
Under PAP policies, it pays very well to be a politician.
And if you become a Minister .... automatic guaranteed become a millionaire.

Yes, but you don't even have to be "smart" in the academic-PhD sense lah.

What you probably do need to be is networked. If you are well networked you will discover that making money in Singapore is not that hard after all :-)

So spend a bit of cash going out for lunch and drinks or catching up for coffee. If you get many people of influence to like you, you will be doing A-OK.

  14. Rather than blaming maybe asked: why do you think the gov want to fix us?
    1) they are super greedy thus want to have more and more
    2) they are sadists thus want to get pleasure from people sufering
    3) they want to spur people to move to greener pastures
    4) they want to lose the election thus can retire and enjoy their riches

Perhaps all the above are true.

  16. CEO's are the pinnacle of what society wants, they bring in the grubs and growth, who would turn down such cash cows, the policies cannot be tweak because this is in tune to the Swan song of what the leaders wanted.

Up till now any tweaks that was done has proven to be yet another plie of shit, please don't put anymore ideas into them.

    - if one can network very well, that person does not need pap and can also make it big. perhaps pap will only limit that person potential.

CEOs are only appointed top managers. All managers are just like gov. They are employed to fix the people / workers. The owners are the true culprits. Who are the true owners and biggest customers of these organisations? They are the real ones that are fixing you and me.
