Yes, he has threatened the govt. But look at it from another
angle, his threat so far was just being naughty. The good thing is that it has
exposed the vulnerability of our IT network in the whole island. We are so
wired, and so helpless to an attack. The success of The Messiah and his
anonymous hackers is proof that we have a lot of holes that need patching. A
dangerous hackers out to create mischief and to bring down our system could
have done so quite easily. We could have had it.
There is also a big danger of playing with numbers
especially those in the CPF and the banks’ accounts. The permutation as to what
havoc can be caused by entering a system is unimaginable. Names changed or
jumbled up, addresses changed, the time needed to debug and to correct all the
errors is horrendous.
The other big hole that is being exposed is the high
reliance on foreigners to run a large part of our IT systems, both private and
public. This is like hiring mercenaries to be our soldiers to guard our
country’s national security. With such a pervasive presence of foreigners in
charge, in control of our IT systems, all it needs is a small percentage of the
foreign legion IT technicians to say yes to a potential trouble maker, and we
had it. Unless we are willing to pay them like our politicians, to keep them
from corruption or free from bribery and other temptations.
And money is not the only thing that could bend a small
group of people to turn against the companies or organisations or our country.
In the uniformed services, the key personnel are all security vetted and
cleared. Are these IT technicians likewise vetted and cleared? This is not a
new development and the dangers have been there for too long. We are lucky that
nothing serious happened, or already happened without our knowledge. How many
or our sensitive data have been downloaded and carted away while we were
sleeping? Do we still dare to fill our uniformed personnel with foreigners like
PRs and new citizens?
The threat posed by The Messiah is a rude awakening. We
cannot behave like business as usual and a major shake up and upgrading of the
industry, hardware and software, and the armies of foreign technicians need to
be reviewed. The Trojan Horse is peanut compared to what we have invited into
our country and system.
The Messiah came with a wake up call to test our system and
cause some red faces at most. Time to move the butts and wipe that silly smile
off the face. It is not a laughing matter. The Messiah has shown how naked we are.
haha ....
ReplyDelete"The other big hole that is being exposed is the high reliance on foreigners to run a large part of our IT systems, both private and public...... "
these simply show HOW FUCK UP .. oops the professionalism of these foreign talents, their ability to code applications softwares
ever wonder why making payments etc at some places are a chore, pity the cashiers invovled
But there is one thing which the Messiah cannot do.
ReplyDeleteThe Messiah cannot contest even one seat, let alone 100% seats, in a GE. And where winning 93% seats is what really matters.
In fact also no other entity, except of course PAP lah, not even the strongest Sinkie opposition.
This is the most invincible trump card of the PAP. And they have used it to the maximum effect, good and bad, on Sinkies.
And suffering Sinkies remain totally helpless when it is bad. And even God, Devil, Messiah and what not also cannot save these helpless, suffering Sinkies.
While PAP able to contest 100% seats is a trump card and a necessary condition, it is not sufficent.
ReplyDeleteSuffering Sinkies must also be kept at 40% or below, and at all costs, including making happy foreigners into citizens able to vote.
@ 10.05 am" And where winning 93% seats is what really matters."
ReplyDeleteFirstly, it is 92%. Not 93%. 91.95% to be exact. Though not that it is material but factually still incorrect. 93% was when eating mangoes, oysters and 笨哪那 " ashleymadison.com" format were still going on.
Two, the question may not be any opposition able to muster 100% candidates. It is more about whether many Sinkies even bother about this SinkieLand any more.
Third, whether incumbent or inexperienced oppo comes into power may no longer matter to more and more Sinkies when there is no more turning back. Even a half green half scorched pasture is still better than a leaking and sinking sampan.
The most fuck up are the irresponsible people who hired foreigners to take charge and control of sensitive IT systems. It is as good as asking the enemies to guard our national security.
ReplyDeleteHow dense can those people be? No wonder there are so many screaming traitors. And the only thing they really care about is to make sure they are guarded by trustworthy and loyal gurkhas.
To gain a 50% is a mamoth task, let alone a 93% to rule, to a state that has total control, vidicating its seat means it will stop at nothing, it has started and by no means will it end.
ReplyDeleteWe have lost the 2nd key due to the ruling, during the polls and the infighting had cause us a plug to at least slow them down, the "growth", at all cost, will not stop, forget about the listening, the at what cost.
"the half scorched pasture", will not even be here for the pay and pay next generation.
Red Bean, as usual a round of kopi kau.

So far the one that has put up the best defence against the Messiah is the ST Group. They threatened to retaliate if no apologies is put up by Irene Tham or her resignation in 48 hours.
ReplyDeleteTill now nothing has happened to ST. The Messiah must be working very hard to penetrate the defensive wall but have failed.
ST's firewall holds. Irene Tham still working and writing like nothing has happened.
...irresponsible people who hired foreigners to take charge and control of sensitive IT systems."
ReplyDeleteAnon 11:33 am
Hahahahahaha. So u think hiring Sinkies will make the IT system more secure and harder to penetrate?
Sinkies very good meh? If so, how come PAP govt take better care of foreigners than Sinkies, you tell me lah.
Only smart Sinkies are good. Good at making lots of money, for themselves lah, of course. And not necessary to be in IT line to do that lah, of course.
ReplyDeleteLeave the IT line to the foreigners, who are abundant, cheaper and faster (younger) for sure. Better than Sinkies? This one not sure.
/// The Messiah cannot contest even one seat, let alone 100% seats, in a GE. ///
ReplyDeleteNovember 10, 2013 10:05 am
exactly.
Singapore is one of the smallest country in the world.
But still need 99 MPs in parliament meh?
Real reason.
To make it prohibitively expensive for any one political party to contest all 99 seats.
Because of the high money deposits the candidates have to put up.
" Two, the question may not be any opposition able to muster 100% candidates. It is more about whether many Sinkies even bother about this SinkieLand any more. "
ReplyDeleteNovember 10, 2013 10:51 am
This is exactly what the PIGS want to do.
They want to force Singaporeans to emigrate and leave Singapore.
So that they can turn Singapore into another for profit Suzhou Industrial Park.
The only thing stopping the PIGS are the Singaporeans and the vote.
So yes. Beware.
They are not on our side.
Rather, we are in their way.
And they will move to get rid of us one way or another.
Sorry lah. Notwithstanding the slap to the govt, I cannot in all conscience condone the hacking and willful defacement of web pages.
ReplyDeleteThankfully, the culprit-- as far as we know-- did not hack infrastructure like for e.g. systems which control hospitals, traffic or utilities.
Therefore if he/ she/ they are caught they should be charged and fined $50, not given death penalty or rotan or prison time.
indeed we should be glad it merely exposed our weakness in infrastructure
ReplyDeleteCurrently it is 87 seats for contest lah, not 99.
ReplyDeleteWhen population reaches 6.9 million, even 87 elected MPs also not enough to care for the residents. Hence PAP for sure will increase the number of seats to contest.
Therefore even more expensive and harder, maybe impossible, for the money and candidates no enough opposition to become govt lah, tio bo?
That's why PAP is very brilliant. Messiah is no match lah, even if Messiah got lots of money and also know how to hack.
@ Anon 10.51 am
ReplyDelete" Even a half green half scorched pasture is still better than a leaking and sinking sampan. "
Reading @ kaki 11.41 am, the above sentence likely is being misunderstood by some.
In context of the comment, clearly it means explicitly that overseas destination, even if it is not fully green pastures but just half green half scorched, is also better than a precarious wooden sampan right? They already insisted SinkieLand still a sampan! Ever seen any made in metal sampan before? After 50 years still toiling in a wooden primitive sampan, what kind of swiss std, more good years, more golden years is that? Even refugees have better boats and ferries than sardine packed sinking sampan.
If that's all the highest leadership could see the future and past efforts, what future and goals can Sinkies hope to have? What for still fight to try tell the dumb sampan chief not to roll head on into a swirl pool and get sucked, disappeared into the deepest sea forever.

ReplyDelete*Typo swirl pool should be whirlpool
To call SinkieLand a sampan same same " Mee Siam Mai Hum" remark. All confidence shattered liao. Time to uproot from this sampan "absurdity".
ReplyDelete// When population reaches 6.9 million, even 87 elected MPs also not enough to care for the residents. Hence PAP for sure will increase the number of seats to contest. ///
ReplyDeleteWhy not increase the number of MPs in parliament to 500.
Also increase the election deposit to $1 million.
So to contest all 500 seats in Singapore parliament will require $500 million dollars.
Like that for sure only PAP can afford to contest all the seats.
And even if WP can win 20 seats ... so what?
20 out of 500 = 4%
Compared with present 9 out of 99 = 9.1% of parliament seats.
So the probable strategy is to:
a)increase the seats in parliament
b)increase the election deposit
c)increase the number of nominated MPs
All 3 measures will dilute Opposition percentage share of seats in parliament.
And make it difficult for any Opposition Party to contest all the seats.
So when I say I'm sorry;
It's just to let all you small people be happy only.
You think you can stop me?

Does the business community including hawkers and bazaar stall holders agree with average Sinkies that 6.9 million in population is bad for Sg?
ReplyDeleteThe Answer is a definite no. Most would want consumption to rise. And the only way is to increase the number of consumers. Even taxi drivers will want higher population.
So, will Sinkies vote against the PAP in future General Elections? I believe the Opposite will happen; meaning PAP will stay as the Rulers for years to come.
careful, poor anonymous might just be the scapegoat to explain discrepancies in cpf numbers.
ReplyDelete@November 10, 2013 11:33 am

there are many good examples out there ...
"I believe the Opposite will happen; meaning PAP will stay as the Rulers for years to come."
ReplyDeleteAnon 1:40 pm
Tiok. And also smart, if u are also part of the business community making lots of money under PAP policies.
Currently I think smart Sinkies, including their close relations and dependents, are around 60% of all Sinkies.
I believe PAP will also convert more smart foreigners to Sinkies in order to increase the percentage of smart Sinkies.
So PAP sure win one, regardless of Messiah or what not.
ananymous will show the daft pap supports that they are themselfs use by evil dynesty and will turn on them to suit their wimps
ReplyDeleteThe Messiah is smart enough to know that taking down Government websites will anger some Singaporeans and give the Government enough ammunition to use this as an argument to support their claim that the Messiah is waging war on 'Singapore' instead of the government.
ReplyDeleteI am sure with their knowledge they could easily have done more damage. After all, if they can hack into the CIA website, nothing is beyond them.
haha ...

Hacking will be like flooding, it will happen every now and then and will be something the million-dollars- paid gov unable to solve.
ReplyDelete@ b 5.12 pm: "Hacking will be like flooding, it will happen every now and then and will be something the million-dollars- paid gov unable to solve."
ReplyDeleteHuman mind, like the foot, needs to grow. When a system, like the ancient Chinese feudalism foot-binding the women so that they can't run far, attempting to restrict dissent via "mind-binding" since young, results in hampering and inhibiting the proper healthy growth of his thinking and problem solving abilities. Just like the 3 inch golden foot, the shrunken mind inability to go far get exposed when faced with real challenges and problems. Coupled with the fact that the highest leadership thinks SinkieLand is just a sampan like 50 years ago, it reveals that almost everybody, if not all, is suffering from this malaise and the future is bleak, if not doomed. The many manifestations in the current system's inability to resolve many abstruseness facing its future in a sustainable manner clearly depicts the many ills of restricting the growth of the mind in the current 3 generations of adults. Resorting to endless unsustainable immigration on a national scale to grow the economy is just one simple example illustrating the "smallness" of the mind's ability and imagination after years and decades of suppressive mind-binding. Just like the ancient foot binding, the enslaved women can't go far and are forever trapped under subjugation and suppression. What is only bound during ancient time is half the population namely the women. In SinkieLand, possibly 3 generations of adults grew up with mind-binding through out their development. Another 10 to 30 years would likely expose the full flaws, repercussions and extent of damage of this mind-binding system.
Seriously folks.
ReplyDeleteIs the PAP operationally ready to be an effective government?
Is Lee Hsien Loong operationally ready to be Prime Minister?
What do you think?
Defence becomes a farce when foreigners are brought in by large numbers and given important positions including finance, IT and defence. They rather trust these foreigners than Sinkies.
ReplyDeleteThese jokers have gone bonkers.
Is the PAP operationally ready to be an effective government?
ReplyDeleteAnon 8:53 pm
The answer that really matters comes from the 60% in a GE.
So you have ask in the wrong place and also the wrong people.
/// So you have ask in the wrong place and also the wrong people. ///

as long as it is the correct question to ask.
Anon 1:40 pm 10 Nov 2013 is correct.
ReplyDeleteOwners of bakery chain, food franchise; senior staff in commercial houses will be hoping, if not praying for higher population. That is where they get more customers. Obviously they will vote for PAP and their employees, family members and associates to do the same. Do not be surprised that PAP can win the Next General Election with a higher percentage with foreigners turned citizens as well.
