Mah Bow Tan, poor thing

The thread on Mah Bow Tan in TRE is getting quite a review of the wrong kind. It was about Mah Bow Tan’s interview by Sin Min on his stepping down as a minister. Mah Bow Tan said he had given his best years to public service and it was time to make way for a better man, in Khaw Boon Wan, to take over the MND ministry.

Why were the comments on Mah Bow Tan so negative? He had done extremely well during his tenure in Housing and Transport. The transportation problem was nothing with SMRT running smoothly and efficiently with the woman in charge, and chalking up millions in profits every year. There were hardly any breakdowns or disruptions of services. COE prices were quite low. Look at the price of COE now, $80K+. It would not have gone up so high if Mah Bow Tan is still in charge. And SMRT would not experience so many breakdowns.

And housing was anything but affordable. There were some complaints but overall housing prices were affordable compare to the prices now. And Khaw has to ramp up the building programmes to meet the unstoppable demands. Looks like Khaw is not doing much better.

And the truth is that he was still the man to anchor his Tampines GRC team to victory. This showed that he was any time better and more popular than George Yeo, and has good ground support.

The views in TRE are a distortion of the truth. If Khaw Boon Wan cannot bring down housing prices to more affordable levels, Mah Bow Tan could make a come back to do what he knew best, making housing prices affordable again. Since Khaw Boon Wan took over, there seemed to be so many housing problems when there was none. The daft Sinkies just do not know how to appreciate the great contributions of Mah Bow Tan and are simply ungrateful and disgraceful.

Poor thing.Hsien Loong should give him a public star in the next National Day.

Not only the truth but also the truth that really matters.

Those opposition candidates who lost in GE 2011 better get some tuition from Mah Bow Tan on this.

And tuition that really matters, more than just tuition for passing or scoring in exams.

    You nominate no use lah.

Tan Jee Say only got less than 40% votes in GE 2011 and 25% in PE 2011. So he even got 2 chances in a year yet Sinkies don't give him chance.

Chee Joon Juan? He lost 3 times, in fact all the time that he contested. Sinkies didn't give him any chance at all.

And of course PAP lagi don't give him chance by making him ineligible to contest after that.

What more to say? It is Sinkies majority votes that matter.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Chee Joon Juan has been discharged from bankruptcy so he is eligible to contest next GE due by 2016.

Aung San Suu Kyi of Myanmar was persecuted for nearly 20 years before being elected to Parliament.

Chee Soon Juan was also "whacked" by PAP in the 20 years he was in politics.

Will Chee Soon Juan become Singapore's Aung Juan Soon Chee in 2016?

  31. SinkieLand current greatest problem may not be MBT's expiration, Medishield Life premium or FCF's impotence but our economic policies. MTI's million dollars paid minister is almost invisible, transparent and non-existent. Historically, really can't find another ministae having such almost non-existent visibility. Our economy might be in shit in 2014, 2015. Why? Under current climate, we should be growing at least 4-6% pa. But from 2011-2015, we are and likely way, way below this potential. This means when interest rate trends up say 2014 onwards, we are done for. Having engineers and hard sciences elites in charge of economic policies certainly has shown to be quite ineffective. Worst still importing massive labour and spending huge figure in govt spending to shore up growth. Seems there is some serious flaws in SinkieLand economic policies.

Amen! But does the 20% diehard opposition knew it? Now they wail diary. They (20%) actually believe the PAP will go away after 2016. Let me make some predictions.

European Union will breakup. Scotland will leave the British Union. France are in deep shit with unemployment now unbearable will bring down EU. Problems still in "PIGS" nations ( Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Spain). Cyprus now join "PIGSFC". When US Fed increase the interest rate, the US will faces a downturn far more severe than in 2008. Singapore with 39% new citizen and population of 5.9 millions is unsustainable. If and when interest rate increase more HDB's dweller will go bankrupt and housing may collapse - depend how many New citizens and PR choose to remain. JB will increase water charges to Singapore - further adding fuel to the mounting problems.

No opposition parties including the PAP can manage this tsunami.

Do you know how oppositions "love" Tan Jee Say. Reading every article posted in TRE by TJS will give a fairly good idea, example: "I support you fully" "Keep up the good work" "Hope’s you form your own party..."

I still cannot understand why TRE support this opportunist and why Readbean remain silence! TJS is dangerous - far worst than the PAP. Many voters "may" consider him as the "lesser of the two evils” or “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Just as voters in the US think Obama is the lessor of the two evils (Bush). Glen Greenwald, Carly Daly and many others believe Obama is far more evil than Bush and both are war criminal.

Given the type of climate, how to really contribute via joining the fray? You tell me lar? Isn't RB and many making some good contributions blogging in cyberspace? Seriously, it is an unenviable task to pick up shit others left behind. Who in their rational mind would want to do that? On the other hand, not every one with some abilities and talents would opt to sell their souls ....... To live at peace with oneself may be far "richer" and "happier" than living a life when using shark fin soup to gargle one's mouth is the norm. I suppose one possible outcome is for the "son of heaven" to abandon the throne on his own accord because by then it could be not possible to sit on the throne any more because even the throne is beyond tenable condition to be seated. This may be the ultimate price to pay when a nation is converted into one revolving door International Hotel and running giant gambling dens is a way of making a living? What is the diff between banks and loan sharks? What is the diff between sanctioning gambling and operating make shift gambling booths in dark, crimes infested back alleys for a living? Morally there may not be much diff. How much respect do people deserve when one need to make a living via operating vices? How much can you trust people who sanction vices as sunrise industries and main stream tenets of their economic policies? How about turning each housing HDB estate into another hotbed like other countries' sex industry when we need to create more wealth and buzz? Where would you end up? Was there any other outcome eventually for SinkieLand when the dice was cast in 2005? Which rational mind would want to get in and pick up shit of running a state economically based on gambling and other unspeakable vices? You tell me lar? Where is one of SinkieLand touted super talents who started and sold SinkieLand loong chong cabinet members this great idea to make a nation's lunch via gambling and probably all kinds of other vices? Do not be made to believe everything you read or what people said, even what I said in my posts. They are there to provoke, to force people to look the other way.

We shall share and discuss and disagree and let truths, half truths and untruths stand out. There are just too much lies and deceptions and insincerity everywhere.

Be cynical, be questioning and scrutinise what you read and find out your own truth and what is right and wrong. Don't take things for granted, read between the lines, read the intent, written and unwritten.

I never lie. Learned very early on in life, it takes more lies to cover a lie. Tell the truth, accept the consequences, get over it and move on!

From past encounters and experiences, one must never trust politicians. They will promise you anything under the sun. After elected turns out to be pigs. Have been wrong many times. But I was not wrong about the PAP and Obama. Remember the last lie publicly "crossing the red line..." on Syria?

I have met my MP Sylvia Lim - a pleasant and likeable person to talk to. She delivered what she would. She kept her appointment. This is a key indicator my first impression of her. This encounter will not make me worship her blindly like many Sinkies. I will continue to vote for her so long she do her job serving her constituencies. However, I don't like WP Slogan "First World Parliament..." What the shit First World for? The poor and needy couldn't give a shit “first” or “last,” so long they have a roof and 4 sq. meals. I didn't vote for the “First” nor her firing speeches or whatever. She speaks her mind and debates reasonably well in Parliament. That’s good enuff for me. Oh, she was a lecturer in the Polytechnic. I too was once a lecturer there too.

  67. Readbean,

Very sorry, I may have gone OT. Trying to tell Sinkies I will not waste my time criticizing that two-bit MABoTan. More important expose to you and your readers - keep an eye on that new liar TJS in the opposition camp. MABoTan is nothing but a small time liar racking million and now the 20% former PAP supporters yelling for his arse. I never voted for him.....the 20% did!!

    Cheers

In the Next GE, if Mah Bow Tan is promised a Cabinet Appointment, I will vote for him.

How does a Cabinet appointment for MBT benefit you or your family?
    You stupid or what?

  70. Mah Bow Tan's talent benefits 60+% of sinkies. It is quite a substantial contribution from a single person.
Imagine 82 of them contributing, jiak buay liao ah. Sin will prosper forever with talent like Mah Bow Tan.

  72. redbean,

I am deeply shocked by your comments on MBT. He had messed up big time in transport and housing and the facts speak for themselves.
The main reason why Khaw is struggling is that MBT's mess is too massive to clean up.
Yet you urge sympathy, even a public star, for such a wicked man.
He doesn't need your affection; he is drawing a nice monthly MP's allowance and annual Minister's pension, along with an accumulation of 40 properties.
However, I have lost all respect for you.
