Did
anyone remember that there were two protests regarding the 6.9m population held
at Hong Lim Park? Briefly I could still
recall being there and taking some photographs and mingling with other Sinkies
that made it a point to be there, to protest. Ok, the Sinkies had their
chances, two in fact, to say their piece about the population issue. Now
everyone back to work, case closed.
Sinkies
should be grateful that today they are given a chance at least to let go some
steam. And they too went to Hong Lim one more time to release another fart on
the MDA regulation to license websites reporting on Singapore affairs.
With
the protests out of the way, with the issues of foreigners discriminating
against Sinkies and Sinkie PMETs having difficulties finding appropriate
employment forgotten, life goes on as normal. Nothing really changed, nothing.
The
6.9m population will be a reality. The MDA licensing means those affected will
have to apply for a licence. The discrimination against Sinkies and PMET
unemployment issue, … never mind, never mind, no more issues already. No one is
talking about them anymore. Let’s move on.
Does
anyone remember about HDB’s affordable pricing and not disclosing the cost of
building a flat? Does anyone remember about all the HDB policies discriminating
Singaporeans and disqualified Singaporeans from buying HDB flats but allowing new
citizens to do so? Does anyone remember that their CPF savings, their hard
earned savings, are locked up because some jokers decided to do so? The list
can go on and on.
Singaporeans
should called themselves lucky and be very grateful that they are now allowed
to complain, to kpkb for a while. And the Govt is listening, but nothing will
change. The Govt will do what it thinks is good for the Singaporeans, including
not selling them HDB flats and keeping their hard earned savings by all kinds
of schemings.
This happens because majority Sinkies think it is best that PAP should be the govt and WP be the strongest opposition but not ready to be govt.
ReplyDeleteNow, as any problem solving guru worth his salt will tell you, in order to solve a problem properly, you need to know the root cause.
So what is the root cause why PAP is govt and WP is opposition? And being what they are?
Your caption says it all, does'nt it? This little corner was meant to let Singaporeans let off steam -to let one's pent-up feelings or emotions(according to the dictionaries) and no more. That master of illusion created it for this purpose.
ReplyDeleteThe root cause is the Sinkie talent pool is very small.
ReplyDeleteAnd for those talented Sinkies, there are better things to do than to become opposition.
And unlike other things, Sinkies cannot expect talented foreigners to become opposition what, can they?
Because strong opposition is strictly by Sinkies and Sinkies only.
So therein lies the root cause of the problem.
Only PAP, being the ruling party, can make use of talented foreigners to help PAP.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, make talented foreigners into citizens. So most likely these citizens will vote PAP.
Secondly, the most talented foreigners turned citizens can become PAP candidates with a 93% chance of winning. And if they win, appoint them as ministers.
So like that Sinkie opposition how to fight? Sure lose one what, tio bo? No wonder WP is the strongest opposition!
"Secondly, the most talented foreigners turned citizens can become PAP candidates with a 93% chance of winning."

It has already happened in 2011. I have no doubt there will be more happenings in 2016.
PAP sure win.
If letting off steam solves the unhappiness, good for all.
ReplyDeleteHowever, if unhappiness leads to bloody conflict, bloodshed and flow then godbless.
Maybe bloodletting could do good for bloodshed.
Oh, getting too cheem! Pardon me, heard someone at the kopitiam said; let go some blood and (high)blood pressure will be relieved. Problem not solved but at least damage reduced. Sounds logical?
What I like here is the comforting knowledge provided by the PAP IB shouting 'PAP sure win' very, very frequently.
ReplyDeleteThis is good because Singaporeans can then vote opposition without worrying about PAP losing. Chiam See Tong was smart when he said 'buy one get one free' and 'you can treat this election as a bye-election without fear of the PAP losing control'.
Thankyou for reminding us the issues that bulldoze and hurt us citizen continuously and deeply.
ReplyDeleteMust remember not to be brainwashed by the distorted, nicely dress up statements in the MSM, never never lost the focus to demand the citizen's right for survive.
Remember the one about PM Lee 'fixing the opposition' being distorted by the MSM to become 'manage the opposition'?
ReplyDeleteThat was one good example of the MSM's slippery hand in politics. The fortunate thing is that every word spoken is recorded and archived. Technology is marvellous for use both ways. It is a double-edged sword, that if not used wisely can be a thorn in the flesh forever.

No lah!
The root cause is the PAP crony pool is too small.
But this one cannot admit.
So instead.
Must say that Sinkies got no talent.
