Sinkie thinking?

Until I left e2i in March this year to pursue my own venture, e2i had helped thousands of retrenched workers over the past 5 years. However, some remained retrenched and unemployed not because there is no job for them but because they are unwilling to face the reality that in their late 40s and 50s, they can no longer command the same pay they were getting prior to being retrenched.

• Many of you are saying you have friends who are very well qualified but still cannot get a job after so many years and their jobs are snatched away by foreigners.

Let me say this: There are many people who have gone through very difficult periods but got up from where they fell and rose again.

If you don’t have what it takes to succeed, don’t complain. Doesn’t mean that by virtue of being Singaporean you are entitled to a GREAT LIFE.

And for goodness sake, please stop instigating Singaporeans to hate foreign workers.

The above are comments by this ex e2i staff in my thread on NTUC helping PMEs in more training posted in TRE. Reading his comments we can understand the few underlying assumptions or principles that he subscribed to and probably could also be the same beliefs and assumptions that he learned from his organizations.

1. A person who is in his 40s and 50s must expect to earn less

2. It is okay for citizens to lose their jobs to foreigners in their home country. Or as he put it, it is okay for foreigners to snatch away jobs from citizens

3. Singaporeans cannot expect anything more than foreigners in our own country. Yes, must compete with foreigners in a level playing field. Try to go to another country and see if they let you compete equally in their country.

4. And there is the assumption that foreigners are fighting equally and fairly for jobs in Singapore with Singaporeans. He has not heard of foreigners hiring their own kind and discriminating against Singaporeans. He has not heard of fake qualifications and experience.

5. Fighting for the rights of Singaporeans to have jobs in Singapore in preference to foreigners is anti foreigners. Singaporeans have no rights to jobs in Singapore vis a vis foreigners.

Could this person be a foreigner, a PR? Is he really a Singaporean? If all Singaporeans think this way, soon all Singaporeans will be out of jobs and their jobs taken over by foreigners.

I believe he is not a retard, so he knows or heard lah.

Perhaps, he is also thinking that Sinkies must be willing to face this reality as well lah, just as they must be willing to face the reality that in their late 40s and 50s, they can no longer command the same pay they were getting prior to being retrenched.

Face the reality, that's his message.

And Sinkies indeed have to face many realities, including the haze and WP being the strongest but not ready opposition.

  2. Are we really "competing" with foreigners or are foreigners imposing a caste system on us.

We know Indian IQ is 82. China IQ is 100. Our IQ is 108

In China, Zhejiang province IQ could be around 116. Why are we importing FT Indians? We could be flooded by Zhejiang province people alone.

Not only that Eastern European have very high IQ. But Why only Indians? Why Why Why?

FT Indians imposing caste system here with help of PAP is very real. If we go on with PAP way, 100 years later we will be as stupid as Indian nationals with IQ 82.

In Singapore, there is no meritocracy, there is only caste system.

  3. We take the foreigners that are best available in quality and quantity.

It so happen that in some sectors, a certain foreign race are the ones best available, and in quantities too.

And if we don't take them, we may have no one to take. And taking no one is not an option. We need foreigners, we need the numbers. And we a need a govt, and PAP is the best available so far.

  4. Is it OK for his parents estate to be given to me instead of to him and his family?

Will he complain if it happens?

People in their 40s and 50s suddenly need to eat less, spend less and have lower expenses? Why don't these people tell the government to subsidize the expenses of people in this age group so that they can afford to take lower pay.

Just because e2i cannot get proper jobs for people, they blame the people for the problem. Can't they see that the jobs created are a total mismatch to the experience and qualifications of the target group.

Thank God that he is now an EX-employee of such an organization.

  5. I think the mentality of the employers to hire younger foreign workers over older S'pore workers is a point that must be looked at.

If you are over 40 and have a degree, ask for a lower pay than a fresh grad, the employer is very reluctant to hire you. Why? Skills not relevant. eg. of a skill wanted in the job - travel arrangement but you have never done that. Sorry, we want someone who has done that. In this way, how on earth are you going to get a job. It is worst if you cannot find a job for over a year, the employer thinks there is something wrong with you.

  6. The reality is that there are not enough Sinkies in their 40s and 50s frustrated enough to vote out PAP in a General Election.

  7. The reality is that only SOME(maybe 40% or less)Sinkies in their 40s and 50s are unemployed and retrenched and cannot get the same pay they were getting prior to being retrenched.

  8. Those certain outsiders from those country did not go thru. the harsh elitist educational system like we do in Spore. They are cheaper to hire for sure but is it fair to Spore citizens????

We go thru. the national education system imposed on us by the PAP
and the compulsive national service only to see the outsiders creating their own educational system --study in their international schools in the thousands across the island, skipping national service.

We are threatened with military detention, fines and other punishment when we miss the military/remedial training, not going to national schools., not reporting change of address etc

When come to outsider PAP use suggestion, persuasion when come national education, national service.

  9. The original writer is echoing what I've been saying all along, attracting all manner of 'spirited responses' ;-)

If you're in you 40-50s you really have NO EXCUSE for being a wimped-out pussy limp-dick victimhood motherfucker. You're at the age where you give advice to the young'uns and whether you like it or not - - are an example ; a role model.

So step up to the plate and be a fucking adult, for fuck's sake. You need a few slaps to wake up more than you need "sympathy", and quite honestly your SELF PITY is annoying.

No one goes through life without having curved balls thrown at them. You are not so special that you've earned some 'right' not to get 'challenged'.

    Man the fuck up! :-)

  10. Dear Ex-e2i Staff:

You are not the elected representative of Singaporeans. You don't speak for any of us.

I challenge our PAPig MPs to repeat what you said to all Singaporeans.

If there are no privileges to being a Singaporean citizen, then I don't want to do my national service.

  11. The government under PAP is overrated by their media, their supporters to be given 60% of the votes.

  13. 'jobs are snatched away by foreigners'

    - Many I know actually willing to lower their pay and expectations but still cannot find jobs.

    - Why should we be ruled by people who cannot create jobs for us but create jobs for others? This kind of ruling is disgusting and should be discarded like garbage.

    - Submission to an authority cannot be taken for granted by the ruling party. Such submission is only valid for a gov that is willing to provide good jobs and safe environment for the locals.

  15. At 40 to 50, these are prime years. Many professionals continue their prime to 60 or 70s.

Here our jokers are writing these people off and expecting them to downgrade, to earn less, to lower their expectations.

And they are going to live till 80 or 90. Sickos.
