Silent protest against haze invasion at Hong Lim

Dear Fellow Singaporeans,

There will be a short silent protest against the worst haze invasion by our neighbor Indonesia at Hong Lim Green tomorrow at 5 pm.

We need to stand up as a people and send a clear signal to Indonesia that we will not tolerate this harmful incursion to our health and economy.

This is also to demonstrate our solidarity with our government which is trying its best to bring pressure on the Indonesian government to stop the forest burning.

As haze condition is getting hazardous please just pop by wear black, wear mask and bring some water for the short duration you are there....

This is a called by Patrick Low posted in TRE.

  1. It is not wise to go out now. The new trend is to protest via social media. Like the malaysians changing the cover pic into black.

  2. I hope Millionaire Bala stays in Jakarta.
And don't return until there are clear skies in Singapore.

  3. All those millionaire ministers most likely leaving sinkaland now to other places not affected by the haze - leaving sinkies to die. People must learn from this episode that this regime is made up of a bunch of useless mpigs.

  4. RB, I could not secure a mask out of stock so won't be attending though love to attend

  5. Get a mask from Zorro Lim. He should have some extras.

But on second thought, he would not spare you one because he does not support strikes or even silent protest.

    Hehehe

  6. How to attend? I can't see you, you can't see me. Who is who? Who wants to go there to be smoked?

  7. Hahaha

When we protest at Hong Lim against the PAP population white paper, nothing changes.

When we protest at Hong Lim against the PAP internet restrictions, nothing changes.

Now, we are trying to stage a protest at Hong Lim against the Indonesian Government and we expect something to be done? Joking or not?

Too many protests and the PAP will once again treat these as the norm, like the floods and MRT breakdowns.

Please, tolong, pai toh and how to say it in Tamil.

  10. aiyoh! have you seen the size and the way indonesians protest in jakarta and other cities? do you know of the slaughters, the massacres, rape and plunder that go there when the people or the army is angry? it is such a violent, violent country. and insurrections, the separatists movement, the guerillas, etc, when they don't agree with the govt? i watched on tv just now an aljazera reporter interviewing a drinks seller in sumatra whose livelihood was affected by the haze. he said if he knows and gets hold of just one of the persons who started the fire, he will throw that person in the fire, and burn him to death. the indons when they see on tv sinkies at hong lim protesting, they'll just laugh at the sinkies and called us pussies.

  11. Why cant they get a few water bomber jumbo jets to solve the problem? waiting for bloggers to tell them what to do again?

  12. Put it this way lah. If the haze had been from Singapore and Indonesians given free undesirable smokeout like rats in a hole like what we have been subjected to, what do you think the Indons will do?

Silent Protest is just not their cup of tea. Even loud protest, with only shouting and clenched fists, is out of their imagination. They will probably resort to confrontosi and burning Singaporean flags, embassy, offices, shops and other properties belonging to Singaproeans in Indonesiawe.

Singaporeans over here will be cowering in fear, just in case they slip into Red Dot at night and massacre some Sinkies in their sleep. Highrise quite safe though, but bungalows sure gone case lah!

Singaporean protest tak boleh jalan lah!

  13. This prove that they are not wrong to call Sinkies acting like baby lah.

Haze is common and this only tell others how vulnerable we re.

If we cannot take it,how to deal with those more serious toxic? You are only telling how pampered and weak we are.

Please dun protest just because there is a HLP.This is misuse or abuse.

Haze has indirectly chase away mosquitoes and dengue .Tbink of the positive side.Sinkie ah Sinkie ,when are we going to learn.Keep on being a cry baby.

Instead of going HLP to show how weak we are,Sinkie must go HLP only for a good reason. To show that we are strong and can adapt to all environment, and go without mask .

The more you show others your weakness, they more you are going to get shit.

Think of a solution on how to prevent haze or other toxic landing here.Maybe like giant fan surrounding our island to blow it away or extendable pipe that can panjio at far distant .Its much cheaper than buying expensive aircraft.
Tell Patrick dun boleow and strain our good relationship with my friendly Indonesian neighbours.

  14. FUCK HONG LIM lah. Wake up!!

If you want the protest to be EFFECTIVE, firstly, don't be SILENT -- that is the wrong strategy.

Also pick the place which will have the BEST IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

If it was up to me: Everyone go to 7 Chatsworth Road (flash mob style) and on signal, all together drop trousers and take a big shit. If you can get inside the embassy, and do it, even better still.

Then immediately disperse, buy some makan, and wait for the evening news.

If they can dump their smoke into Singapore's air, you can take a dump on their embassy -- which represents their government.

Also, FUCK THE SINGAPORE GOVERNMENT lah. They are too fucking soft. It's ok to take all that corrupt Indo money and allow the motherfuckers to buy Singapore real estate, use our banks...what the fuck ...still must kiss their arses ah?

Fuck them lah. Can you imagine some of the very young and the old folks gasping for oxygen?

Enough is enough. Every year the same old shit.

  15. I say man. This MF cares about old folks and children.

  16. MS - dont talk big lah. Obviously, Indo wants to create trouble. They have always wanted to take back malaysia and sinkaland. Now is probably the best timing cos mnsg people very unhappy with their gov. Strike when your enemy is at their weakest.

  17. Btw, they bought a lot of weapons.

  18. the only way for s'pore to stop the haze is to bribe the indonesian leaders. big big bribes. no other way. every year just before the burning season, s'pore must send delegation to jakarta and pay tribute - send the bunga mas, 12 s'pore virgins carrying 12 small pots of gold coins. delegation must sit on floor and crawl like the thais do when in the audience of their king. the money will come from the miw's salaries and we'll appoint 1 minister to be delegation head and feet kisser of the indonesian president. the delegation head will be the only minister with the million dollar salary. every year different minister. can start with yacob or vivian. s'pore needs to get creative, think out of the box. old solutions don't work. then during rainy seasons, we do the mass shit thing at chatsworth road. come may, june we become servile again. need to survive, cari makan.

    [Coping with the hazy situation]

"THERE are times when Singaporeans would feel themselves lucky
for avoiding typhoons, earthquakes, floods, or the feared tsunamis – the bane of South-East Asia.

Last week wasn’t such an occasion.

In recent days, some of the optimism dissipated with many inhabitants asking themselves:
“What on earth is happening to Singapore?”

At the same time, Singapore is bracing itself for the worst dengue epidemic
as the number of infections this year has exceeded the total for the whole of last year.

As Singapore was covered by the strong acrid smell of fog,
some transit stations on the North-East line were disrupted for two hours.

The commuters were stranded for 'an unacceptably long period' before they were eventually detrained
and asked to walk towards the nearest station."

  20. Anon 7.53 has the best diplomatic solution.

When we are small, we have to act small, not trying to wear big shoes and the moment our leaders open their mouths they start with 'we demand' or 'we will give a million $'. The moment you do that, we get fucked off and they start looking down on us like 'pee sai'.

Unless we climb down from our high horses, a superiority complex derived from our wealth and the highest GDP in this region, does not mean we must expect to earn respect from others around us.

When leaders think they can treat citizens like serfs and dirt, they think they can extend their superiority outside their territory. That is one big mistake that started from the Great Leader and still thought to work very well. They are dead wrong.

  21. Trust me, Hong Lim Park is going to turn into the 'graveyard' of the disillusioned.

You think the PAP is so benovelant to provide a place for Singaporeans to protest against them so willingly?

Hong Lim Park is going to be the place where all grieviances against the Government is going to end and be buried for good.

What has all the protest achieve so far? It is just a showpiece for the PAP to show the world that Singaporeans are given space to protest. Democracy at work? My big foot.

  22. RB, when Singapore see other countries in crisis, such as tsunami, earthquakes, etc, our country would help them by offering sending teams over to their countries with medicine, money, aids, doctors, etc.

How it is when we have a crisis now (worst haze ever), no country is bother with us, worst still are the Asean countries ? They all keep quiet and not share our concern. This bad for our country. What happen to diplomacy when they say mutual co-operation to do this or that ?

  23. @FL

The meanings of "help" during our kampong days, and these days, are different.
    Very different, actually.

  24. Time to punch above our weight. Heheheheh

    ReplyDelete
  25. When leaders go for Asean meetings, I think they just eat, drink, enjoy the tours, talk cock and sing song and forgot their proclamations after they returned home.

In any case, I think our neighbours do not help because this is not an earthquake or tsunami, or something catastrophic, but which to them is a normal cycle of nature.

It is only a matter of how different people are able to tolerate different degree of discomfort wrought about by nature every now and them.

Singaporeans chould be thankful we are spared earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis. Otherwise....

    @bond 1245:

This is precisely the type of incident you need to talk big, and walk big.

Why do you think these cunts get awasy scot free, whilst our young and our old are -- by no fault of their own -- exposed to life threatening consequences? The reason they get away with this shit is because THEY DO IT EVERY YEAR AND ** NOTHING IS DONE ** !

Everything smells like SHIT. Your clothes, your home...everything. Time for their govt reps to have that shit smell multiplied by several orders of magnitude, right in their faces. PUT YOUR FAECES IN THEIR FACES.

Fucking Indos are cunning: if you try to broach an issue by sweet talk, they'll just IGNORE YOU and continue doing their nonsense. If you try to get a bit 'firm', they act all 'offended' and 'sensitive'. Fuck that shit, they are master manipulators -- and why not? They have grown up defending themselves against allegations of corruption, "corruptasi" being as much as a cultural fixture as rendang and nasi padang.

  31. Some protest in the Embassy needed to send a real message; and may be throw some really rotten eggs inside to signify the bad smell from the haze coming from Indonesia!!!
    Someone need to organise this.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Indonesia should not play the blame game. If foreign companies burn and polute, penalised them. Enforce than talk rubbish. Indon govt need to get tough and S'pore/M'sia govt also need to get tough. Make agreement if Indon govt if they are serious, every 10 increase of API after unhealthy mark to pay S1,000,000. Let them come and measure, set the right tangible expectation, then result will come. Take care.

  33. Indon minister said S'pore acting like child and haze is nature; I guess S'porean can dump their natural calls (Shit++) at Indon embassy as it is nature too. The point is not to dump unwanted naterual stuff to ur neighbor. Some have to organise this and they only then will understand and realised how selfish they are!!! They have not felt it yet.. Someone have to teach those high ranking Indon govt folks staying in Jakarta as they did not get the haze. S'pore should invite Indon President adn his cabinet to come here and stay outdoor and smell whole day! most will not last an hr!!!
