Bomb threats or pranks intolerable for public safety and security

An Indian national by the name of Aditya Bhatia, a foreign student at the Global Indian International School, has posted in his facebook a threat against Singapore. He wrote that he would take a ‘big big revenge” on Singapore when he leaves the country… he is going to spit everywhere…he will “plant bombs on Marina Bay Sands”

This is no joke and no small threat. Anyone mentioning the word ‘bomb’ in the airport can be expected to be whisked into custody and subject to intensive interrogation by the police. Here is an explicit comment on an act of terrorism, planting bombs at the Marina Bay Sands.

For the police not to take action or to treat this case as a childish prank is unacceptable. Some had been arrested in the past for making reports of bombs over the phone. The country cannot afford to take such pranks or threats for granted. If this is not curbed immediately, it could lead to more of such nonsense being repeated. After a while, nobody will take them seriously, just like crying wolf. That will be serious as the guards will be down and a genuine threat may be mistaken for another prank and lives and properties could be lost.

No one, yes, no one, must be allowed to make such threats even as joke or a prank, or as an expression in a moment of folly or anger. The police must punish the culprit severely and make this case or any such cases forbidden to fool around with.

  1. The word "BOMB" is banned in SingaPAPore...the airport/STPB should highlight this to visitors in Tagalog/Hindi/Putonghua

  2. If you are a Sinkie then its considered serious and get ready to face the music.
Anyway, dun be paranoid over this remark. You must know how the threat is being implied. Its not someone saying that he had plant a bomb on a premises and it will explode soon .
If someone says he will plant a bomb,it doesn't mean he will do it.If I say I had voted for PAP,you all can Tulan me.But if I say I will vote for PAP,doesn't mean I will,so please dun be brain dead .

  4. Arrest the bugger and hand him over to the US for immediate check-in to Hotel Guantanamo.

Reasoning : bombing inS'pore is likely to result in American citizens residing in Singapore to be harmed. Therefore treat this fucker as a terrorist.

  6. Haha.

Empty vessels make a lot of empty threats

    Just like Selamat Mas.

  7. How do you know it's an empty threat?

The average peaceful person has been fear-mongered out by the govt and their lapdog media about terrorist bombing. Only an asshole who lacks restraint and cannot express anger properly gets himself in a situation where he "asks for it" by allowing his negative spirit to do the public speaking.

He needs tobe treated like a terrorist.

  11. Arrest that bugger, hand him over to the SAF as live target for grenade throwing practice. Or use him for bomb disposal without protective clothing.

  12. "Only an asshole who lacks restraint and cannot express anger properly gets himself in a situation where he "asks for it" by allowing his negative spirit to do the public speaking." - If people here can express their anger more actively, they will not be treated like carpets by their ruling gov. If they do not dare to take to the streets for their rights, any parties will screw them over and over again. The bus drivers who went on strike have more leadership qualities than any highly educated people here. People here simply too timid to even stand up for their rights.

  14. Is this going to be brushed aside as an isolated case, just like floods, MRT breakdowns, opposition victories and the like? I hope not.

Anyway, another good distraction apart from the headline news from India that will fill up the pages of the MSM. Probably hoping this will keep the lid on the PAP Town Council software sale fiasco that is consuming the PAP right now.

  16. As a Sinkie, me feels much more threatened by the never ending rising costs of living and scandals plaguing Sin than those empty threats made by barking dogs.

  17. Hi Aditya, welcome to the blog. I hope you are the same Aditya that posted the comments we are talking about. This kind of things cannot be anyhow said, especially in the internet, and in Singapore. This place is too small and cannot afford to go through a bomb attack.

The matter is now in the hands of the police and you would have to explain to them of your motive and intent in that post.

As Sinkies, they can forgive you for your ignorance. But they will be very angry with you and indirectly also be very angry with all the foreigners here. You gave them an excuse to hate foreigners and feel cheated and betrayed.

  18. Why would this boy developed such a hatred for Singapore when he is enjoying all the hospitality here?

  20. With havin so much content and articles do you
ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation?
My site has a lot of completely unique content I've either created myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement. Do you know any ways to help prevent content from being stolen? I'd definitely
    appreciate it.
