This is frightening, really, please wake up.

“For a member who passed away on or after 1 July 2006 during his/her hospitalisation, he/she can use his/her Medisave savings to pay for the last inpatient hospital bill in full, without being subjected to the existing Medisave withdrawal limits. This is because the need to save for future healthcare needs is no longer relevant”.

The above was quoted in Leong Sze Hian’s article on the ‘Erosion of CPF protection from creditors’ in the TRE. Read the intent and purpose of this change carefully. I swear I will not admit myself to any hospital in my dying days to help them clean up my savings in the Medisave.

No say I never warn you. This is a very brilliant and compassionate and merciful change to help the decease pay for everything he owes to the hospital, to the last cent in his Medisave. He will die a free man, free of his savings in the Medisave, with not debt to the hospital and nothing left for his dependents or children.

  1. In Singapore there is a saying "You can die but cannot afford to be sick" It is very sad that our government is very moneyism. Take the example of filial piety by children who take care of the aged parents but their aged home bill is loaded with GST which is not medical related cost adding to higher cost. No wonder some of them abandon their parents.
Not eveyone can have a medical bill of $8 only for a heart bypass.
Wake up man the poor and the middle class.

  3. It is so difficult to claim from Medisave to pay hospital bills when one is alive. When one is dead, they want to clean up everything from the Medisave.

  4. redbean, you make it sound that just because it is medical care given to a dying person, it should be "free".

Everybody gotta die sometime. And it usually is a period where there is heavy use in medical facilities.

User pay. That's fair. That's simple.

  5. CPF saving is like 棺材本, coffin money, and creditors are not allowed to touch. Now this last bit can be taken away by the hospital now. May end up with nothing to by coffin.

  6. Yet the old man did not answer publicly "Who pay for his heart operation over the years and medical bill ? Did he even pay $8 like Khaw ?"

But your guess is as good as mine.

  7. If you owe money, that debt must be paid.

You want "freebie" just because you die?

Everybody dies lah. It doesn't confer any "special" treatment as far as debts are concerned.

    Hospitals are not charities.

  8. The high medical cost in SG is totally LKY's wicked fabrication. I remember during my school days until JC, dental healthcare is completely free.

We use to have universal dental care for students until 18 years old. Each students are entitled 2 visit a each. How much monies it cost to run this business?

It around 1 dental per school, each one maybe got paid SG$4000-SG$5000. Considering around 400 schools in SG, just $30 million is going to provide all students free dental care per annum.

Then for some reasons, LKY cancel this whole thing. I believe LKY wants to give private dentist business.

Assuming we have 500,000 students from 6-18, and each visit to dentish cost $100. So the cost impose to society is S100 million a year, if our students are going to get back their healtcare service level.

We have to think, why when we are poorer, we can have free dental care. When we are richer now, PAP say this is going to bankrupt us.

  11. Oh! Now I understand why the CPF Board do not want to let me have a breakdown of my mum's balance CPF monies when I requested them for one.

She passed away in the A&E after a heart-attack and the final bill was only S$95.00 presumbably for the ambulance fee.

I had put in 20K for her CPF Life Annuity and I believe the last balance balance in the Medisave account is about nine hundred plus.

The Board said NO and a court order is required if I want to know the breakdown. They gave me a lump sum amount for the balance CPF's Life annuity.

  12. PAP need more Matilah this type of people. Our MIW will become BIW (Billion in white)

  13. Hi Virgo, this is not acceptable. The CPF has to account for all the transactions in an account. One lump sum is a no no.

There must be accountability and transparency. Keep demanding for it. Every account holder has an absolute right to know how much he has and where the money goes to. No grey area here.

  17. Vote Opposition for greater government transparency.

I really don't see how voting for the Pro Alien Traitors will benefit me.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Voting for the Pro Alien Traitors will only benefit the selfish rich - not the middle and lower class of people. We only need another 10% of people to think like that and we will see pigs in white flying thru the air. My guess is they will put in a bigger bag of goodies next election.

  19. For those not updated, I read matilah does get some free stuff that is the incest relationship he has lar. That one he never pay

  20. Hi Virgo, I can understand your position if the amount is insignificant. But the logic of CPF is flawed. If that is what CPF can do, does it mean that an account holder cannot ask for a statement of his balances and transactions because it is confidential.

What is needed is to prove that you are the beneficiary of her estate or the executor. That means her estate is now yours or in your hand and you have every right to know what went on in her account. CPF can only be right if the applicant for disclosure is not a beneficiary to her estate, a non related party.

Now you have the internet to post your position. If would be better to discuss it in the ST forum.

I have been checking my accounts very frequently and CPF had obliged without a question ask. An account holder and the beneficiary of a deceased account holder must have all the rights to know the transactions done in the account.

When and where have I ever claimed to be a "deep thinker"?

I am definitely not that. I write rubbish. But for strange reasons I caanot understand, people read my shit...and get mad. Then they start taking vicious shots at me just because they don't like what I write...which I do for FREE.

    WTF?

  22. Do you still believe the money in CPF is "yours"?

Now there is yet another proof that they can take your money to cover debts you incur.

So much for your flawed concept of "ownership" of your CPF.

YOU DO NOT OWN "YOUR" CPF

ave you accepted that as fact yet? Or are you still the stubborn arsehole (_*_) who cannot understand the use of LOGIC?
