HDB flats costing $1m in the resale market, or near to $1m. COE for small cars is now $64k and big cars $91k. And the best part, Sinkies are all celebrating, or at least none is complaining. The property owners are feeling so rich. The car owners who can afford to buy just a piece of paper to entitle them to buy a car must definitely be very rich.
These are happy problems. It only means that Sinkies are getting richer by the day without having to work. No wonder they have to import foreigners to do all the works. Sinkies only need to sit on their properties and feel richer everyday. Now they can also buy cars, park in the car park and wait for the prices to soar with COEs costing more than the value of a car.
With the million dollar flats, they can make a quick pile and spend a little on a brand new car. Who cares whether the train is delayed or not moving? Who cares if COE is $100k? A million dollar HDB flat can buy several COEs and cars. Life is wonderful in this little paradise.
The best plan is to sell the million dollar flat and switch to a 2 rm flat and take advantage of all the subsidies. Don’t work, so will qualify as low income earner. The extra cash can buy a Mercedes to drive around. Hear only the good stuff.
The modern days exploitation technique is a little more complicated. In the past, the elites simple uses violent, in the form of enslavement or taxation, to plunder the fruits of labour.
ReplyDeleteThese days, things are done in a more subtle way. In SG, laws are enacted to plunder our land-- the famous Land Acquisition Act. When government completed their plunder, land price are driven up, way higher in relation to wages.
Our high land price, is not just asset inflation alone, it is in another perspective, a necessity that everyone need, but jack up stratophere in relation to salary. And magically, our fruits of labour are transfered to the pockets of elites, meanwhile, those being exploited people even fight to defend the ponzi system.
If people understand this, it would not be difficult to comprehend many other financial tricks employed by the government.
True. Just an example, they are harping on the claim that 50% do not pay taxes, but GST is even more drastic in time to come. It affects the unborn, the living and the dead.
ReplyDeleteHahaha.....
ReplyDeletethe higher the prices of property and car, the more proud i will be of owning them. Better still, i do not have to work for HAVING OWNED them.
Good that my assets are being enhanced FREQUENTLY for me to get richer each time. Why should i not be happy?

The policy of tyrant like Caligula, Hitler or Stalin will benefit some people. But we must ask whehter it will bring well-being in the long run. This asset enhancement is a tax placed by government, the old, the landlord, the parents on the -- young, the working class FT, the small businesses, the entreprenuers-wannabe.
It perpetuate dynastic wealth and lucky sperm club. It sterilize the whole nation. It transfer wealth from productive people to the most lazy pig. It allows the most useless landlord to behave like talent while the most hardworking workers to stooge.
You know what the communists did to the landlords?
ReplyDeleteNo wonder productivity is so low..everybody wants/are a rent-seeking landlord. They make money out of money..not real work. We are on the road to Athens in no time.
ReplyDeleteThose who cannot afford the COEs should not drive and should take public transport.
ReplyDeleteI agree absolutely with Anon 1.44.
ReplyDeleteWhy work so hard when speculating in properties is so lucrative? Everybody now thinks he/she is already a millionaire, or at least half a millionaire already. Yes, we are on the road to somewhere everyone thinks is paradise at this rate.
Everybody wants to be towkay, landlord, gang chief and ruler. To those who can achieved, kudos to You.
ReplyDeleteFor those who cannot or failed to achieve, work harder. And if You work to help others to achieve, You are contributing too and that is not bad shall I say.
