Stop the raid on your CPF

I have to pick this issue up regularly to remind the Sinkies that the CPF savings are their money. No buts, not even legislation is allowed to take them away from you. I have read in many blogs and feel very embarrassed and shameful that Singaporeans are resigned to the fate that their CPF money is as good as gone, forever. Some meekly took the position that it is another form of tax. Please, do not allow that kind of mindset to let your money slip away. It is Ah Q mentality. When people slap you, try to rationalize it away as okay and meekly walk away pretending to be happy.

Just remember the obnoxious HDB housing policies, the wind down of the building programme despite the huge demand, the long wait, the runaway prices. If Sinkies have accepted them as given, can’t be helped, can’t do anything about it, these policies would still be in place and the Sinkies will still be taken for granted.

The same goes to their CPF money. Once Sinkies stop the fight, it will be the end of their money. The minimum sum will keep going up and up and away. If the Sinkies want the raiding of their CPF savings to stop, they have to start right now, together, to kpkb, to make sure that the govt heard you. All the money must be returned to their rightful owner by 65 at most. The senior citizens are not idiots or of unsound mind, not all. They can manage their money and know how to use them for their own benefits.

After 65, any money to be left in the CPF must be voluntary. And the govt can explain all the good reasons why the Sinkies should keep putting their money in the CPF and to encourage them with positive incentives like higher interest rates or whatever perks. It must be done on a willing party basis, optional. Is there such a word called ‘optional’? I think many did not know of its existence. The only word they understand is compulsory. No one must be coerced by legislation to be parted with their hard earned money.

After 65, life can be terminated at any time. Let the people decide what they want to do with their money. The govt has no right to do that. Legislation is force, is crude and ugly.

The minimum sum in the Medisave is another issue that is intolerable. It is as good as paying your medical fees in advance, in the tune of $30k when one may not even need it. It is a farcical reasoning. Not everyone wants to spend his money on expensive hospital bills to be alive and have nothing left, and become stragglers or crawlers to pass their meaningless living in oblivion. It is pathetic.

The raid on the people’s CPF must be stopped. And only the Sinkies can stop them. Never give up on your blood sweat money. You earned it and it must be yours to spend, to do as you please unless God says otherwise. No human gods should think they are wiser and can assume the role of God. Anyone supporting such a policy, to deprive the people of their hard earned money without good intention, better be mindful of what you are doing.

  1. THANK YOU RB . I am very very angry with what PAP is doing with my CPF. I want it back , I too , refuse to be robbed blind by the PAP . Instead of just being a key board warrior , is there anything concrete that can be done ? Readers prease dun just suggest voting against PAP in 2016 , how about any concrete action Sinkies can do within the limits of the Law to claw back our blood money?

  2. All sinkies can go and see their MPs and given them a piece of their mind and tell them to bring it up in Parliament. Make sure all the feedback channels can hear this voice, that the people want their money back. Tell the servant MP to table it as a motion in Parliament.

This will be a test who is master and who is servant. If nothing is heard in Parliament, then the Sinkies should know the right version of the master servant formula.

And with Hsien Loong on a willing to hear mode, this is what he must hear, and don't later say no one is complaining so the policy must be fine.

  3. No one should be forced to contribute compulsorily to the cpf, medisave when they are already 60 yrs old. They should be allowed to spend what they earn as they please at this age The people who thought of this policy of forcing cpf contributions after 60yrs should be committed to IMH ! What if these over 60 do not work - then there's nothing to extract from them to put in the cpf.The fact that they are still working n not begging for help speaks volumes!

  4. What raid? The money's gone as soon as it is taken from each "member". (Don't you love it; sounds like some exclusive club).

Redbean is flogging his dead horse, so I'll respond in flogging mine :

    1. If you don't have exclusive control over something, then you don't own it

    2. Thus the CPF "contribution" is a TAX -- rather, a form of tax cleverly disguised as something else, probably to "fool" people.

    3. This tax is used to fund an on-going legal pyramid scheme.

    4. All government social insurance programs are essentially legalised Ponzi Schemes.
Why do you think just because you are Singaporeans it should be any different?

    5. The State can and will tinker with the scheme to ensure it is kept alive. If they left it alone it would collapse from a cash crisis. For eg. They had to tinker with it. No choice.
Babyboomers are retiring and will be getting sick in one huge lump of a statistical cluster. Supposing the money was really theirs to draw upon, that would bankrupt the entire con game, and there'll be blood on the streets.

    6. CPF provides the capital base which enabled Singapore to become te FINANCIAL TITAN and ECONOMIC MIRACLE it is today, and likely to continue for awhile yet, until the day The People FUCK IT UP COMPLETELY. (the basis of my Matilah Singapura hypothesis)

    7. CPF has allowed Singapore to own ALL it's SOVEREIGN DEBT locally therefore never to be subject to the whims and power of foreign financial manipulators. In fact, CPF provides the war chest for Singapore's Temasek to become a fearsome foreign raider.

    8. Once paid as a tax, you have no more claim on your payment. The idea of "rights" is based on the same bullshit hope christians have that they have a right to be saved simply for believing in a zombie jew. Your rights in CPF == complete nonsense.

    9. Your energies are better spent treating this thing as a tax and getting on with your life, because you will die eventually. Consider CPF as one of the imperfections of living in a modern world, government inefficiency and annoyance which everyone has to "tolerate", a "cost" of existence in Singapore.

    10. Every tax scheme / con job suggests some form of social contract between citizen and government. CPF does offer some things in return. It is up to you to GRAB AS MUCH AS YOU CAN WHEN YOU CAN. You get no medals or reward for being passive.

CPF, together with MediSave and HDB form extremely sensitive emotional triggers for most citizens, thereby allowing them to be manipulated for social engineering objectives and political outcomes.

Sorry to say that redbean has been ensnared into this emotional cauldron, and by fighting a fight he (and anyone else) cannot win (he has not defined "win", which means the battle is futile) he has been sounding increasingly more negative as time goes on. This is a sign of desperation and victory fast becoming elusive.

In this life, pick your battles wisely. Nothing which is centrally planned through force and fiction can ever work long term. Don't bother fighting, because there is no "raid"

  5. The government has been losing billions of dollars of tax payers' money in foreign investments and CPF money is a handy source of back up capital for it to dabble with so long as it is other people's money and in this case it is the people, the workers, the tax payers' money. The government can just legislate and make it legal for it to hijack the people's CPF and no one can say anything. But the government cannot be more wrong because nature has its own way of championing the people from wrong doing by the government when the right moment comes.

The opposition parties MPs will be deserting their duties if they do not take up the CPF case in parliament. If it comes to the worst with no turning point then the opposition must take up the case to the world assembly in the United Nations to fight the government's wrong doing and help the people to get back their rightful ownership of the CPF money .

  6. Matilah is trying to tell the Sinkies that they are daft and nothing can be done without even fighting for it.

If the people are willing to stand up and tell the govt, and if the govt is willing to listen to the people, the picture can be changed. Of course it is going to take time to unravel and untangle the money from all the nooks and corners.

If the people adopts the defeatist attitude, they have lost their money for just doing nothing. It is not a done deal.

It all boils down to communication. The people must communicate with the govt.

    ReplyDelete
  7. .Ah redbean misquotes me again and is bordering on dishonesty by labelling my attitude "defeatist".

Nonsense. People who read and spar with me know darn well that I'm all about WINNING in the real world which is (like it or not) a highly competitive MERITOCRACY.

This means at any given time your options and resources are limited. If you really want to WIN, pick your battles wisely.

A tax is simply a cost. It is not a "problem". It is an EXPENSE. Pay, shut up, and move on to WIN, as a winner, not as a defeatist

  8. Sinkies need to learn the meaning of and unlearn "learned helplessness" . Years of clever indoctrination by PAPppy has made us very dumb. Not just dumb as in stupid but also dumb as in duuno how to make noise. SINKIES WAKE UPPPPP !!!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Matilah, please don't misquote the govt. CPF is officially a people's saving. You don't mislead the people into thinking that it is a tax when it is not.

The Sinkies, yes, must learn to decide their own future. They need to wake up and stop being Rip Van Winkles. Unless they did not want their money back.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Dumb Sinkies = Defeatist ? If so , MS not defeatist cos he sure is not dumb. Sinkies need to "un"dumb themselves.

MS , CPF belongs to sinkies, it should be returned. If CPF is a tax , then convert the term CPF into a Tax but not labelled it as CPF conning ordinary folks into believing otherwise.

If CPF is Tax , we are really getting conned outright. Welfare states like UK , Auz , US all extract high taxes in the name of Tax to subsidize the Welfare provisions such as national health care , housing as well as $8 CABGs.

If CPF is tax , let PAPPY subsidise health care for all age above 60s / retirees with free basic health care and not Tax in the guise of CPF and yet asking sinkies to pay out of pocket in addition to their CPF/Medisave contribution.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Realise what the younger generation of smart sinkies do these days ? Why get married ? If get married , why have kids ? Don't be daft enough to produce offsprings only to provide meat for PAPPY to exploit via CPF, HDB , COE in generations to come. PAPPY also not dumb , import lorr ! Importing these daft FTs who will provide the base for more contributions via CPF and entice them with the sinkie citizenship so the CPF cannot be withdrawn. New FT will provide the fresh blood for Pappy to feed on, who needs sinkies who are already spent and waititng to erode the gold pot ? Hmm ?

  12. @anon 1106 I'm familiar with Dr Martin Seligman's work and have actually attended his lectures. I highly recommend his work. This is not pop psychology self help new age bullshit. It is science.

    Redbean and the other anons:

I remind everyone I have no dog in the fight. I grabbed what I could from CPF and shovelled it onto property long time ago before they started changing the rules.

Thus I don't give a shit on whether it is "defined " as the people's money or the dog's testicles -- call it whatever the fuck you like. Change the wording to tax? Like I said, I don't care. In fact just be honest and change it to Ponzi Scheme Tax. And I still don't care.

I don't really care if you believe me or even if I'm right. There's nothing for me to win or lose. As a curmudgeon, I offer up (hopefully) an inflammatory or controversial opinion. I don't write for approval. I write for my own selfish entertainment. :-)

So fuck you and your pipe dreams of getting any "justice" from a tax you think you have some property rights over. Go ahead -- your lives are your own to waste! :-P

  13. Okay guys, don't push matilah too hard. It is just his opinion that CPF is a tax. Just agree with him ok? Pressing too hard will force his Tourette Syndrome to appear and it is not nice at all. That is his defensive mechanism.

This is a family blog, wholesome entertainment.

Although I can most definitely "do better than that", you'll have to accept my presentations as is or use your search engine to seek out the perversions of your dreams. Sorry, I can't help you there.

  28. The government is supposed to have the best top talents in the world. How come they don't know it is morally wrong to hold the people's CPF money, the people's hard earn savings to ransome? How come instead of making profits the government is always losing billions of dollars in investing in US dubious companies or institutions ? Don't the ministers know that US is run by crooks, rogues and scoundrels whether it is in the government or private sectors? Why is the Singapore government so sucked to the Evil Empire and believe everything that the Evil Empire plan or schemed. This unqualified trust in the Evil Empire is causing Singapore to lose the billions of dollars of tax payers' money. The ministers should use their own money to dabble with and not using the people's money to gamble on untrustworthy US or Western toxic financial products or whatever.

    An angry Citizen.

  29. @Anon 4 Jan 8:46AM,

Too bad, the ONLY way to prevent CPF from being robbed in broad daylight was to vote Oppositions in GE2011. Unfortunately, many dare not act. So good luck to the rest of those that are awake!

  30. The best recommendation by the salary committee is to change the pension scheme to CPF. Then we their own money are locked up, they will know how it feels. They may then want to find ways to release it back to the owners.

But, the weakness is that the amount locked up will be too insignificant to them to bother.
