The lynching of Pte Daniel Chen

Pte Daniel Chen, a 19 year old Chinese American, joined the US Army to defend his country. He was sent to Afghanistan and was lynched, oops, they have sophisticated weapons today, they shot him in the head. No, no, not the Afghans. He was shot by his own comrades in arms, the Americans. His sin was that he was an Asian, a Chinese.

Poor Danny thought racism is passé in modern America. He lived and died just to find out that racism is deep in the blood of the Americans. They put on a façade of modernity, denounced others for abused of human rights regardless of colour or race, but they remained the same as their forefathers, racist of the first order.

Danny was abused, insulted with racist slurs, and beaten up, stoned by his white fellow soldiers, and shot by them in the head. The reports did not say that he was killed. It even implied that he shot himself, committed suicide. But eight soldiers including his platoon commander, have been charged for manslaughter and homicide.

And the Army spokesman proudly pronounced that those who killed their buddy soldiers would be charged and dealt with by the law. Sure, they would be found guilty and sentenced to two months jail before they become free men again. And with parole and whatever mitigating factors, they may not even spend a day behind bars. Because the victim was Asian, and worst, Chinese.

The myth that the Americans have become a new and better beast is still a myth. The racist beast is still hidden beneath the white skin and waiting to surface at the earliest opportunity. If they could do that to their own comrades in arms, dragging him along the floors and shooting him dead, what do you think they would do the Arabs and Afghans in Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib.

Yes, they never leave their soldiers behind. They will bring back Danny Chen to his parents in a black plastic bag, after killing him. I am jumping the gun to pronounce them guilty. They could get off, acquitted for any flimsy reasons, maybe a full stop missing in the charges. There are too many of them to pay for the death of a Chinese American. Don’t worry, they will now find all ways to help the lynch mob, to free them. Every loophole in the law will be exploited.

Mark my words. The whole wayang will go through its motion and none will be punished, at worst a slap on the risk. The case will be different if it was a white boy shot by black American soldiers.

  1. My Paper 23/12/11 calling it "us army charges 8 after asian hazing victim dies".

    HAZING! what/why is my paper...

top down no need to add any more noise on my part.

  2. And don't forget the other recent case of Harry Lew.

/// In October, three Marines were to face court-martial in charges on the death of 21 year-old Marine Lance Cpl. Harry Lew of California, another Chinese-American.

Lew was found dead on April 3rd from a self-inflicted gunshot after being hazed and allegedly beaten by fellow members. ///

  4. That's why I say RB, be careful of what you wish for. Letting those savages onto out shores with the USN while they release their pent up money spending urges and what nots. Beware Beware Beware.

  5. The issue here is 'hazing' -- a kind of ritualistic bullying used on newcomers as part of the 'initiation process' in military units ALL OVER TE WORLD.

It would be obvious that ethnicity (or what S'porens still call 'race') would be chosen, as the idea of hazing in the military is to 'punish' newbies for being different.

The best way to handle rascist attacks is to ignore them. Physical attacks however require you to stand up to bullies.

No one can make you feel bad without your permission

The military is like every other collectivist organisation (eg organised religion, ideologically based political movements) : individual and individual differences must be attacked and eliminated. If one can't handle that Don't join the military!!

  6. Pte Daniel Chen asked for it!

Before you guys start pelting me with stones, let me explain.

In the US unlike here, soldiering is volunmtary and not conscription. Why join when you are the minority and know that you will be subjected to bullying andd other unspeakable actrocites. These yanks are animals.
those charged looks like the Who is Who list from Redneck Amerlicker.

If these kind of victimization carries on, the day will come when asian enlistees in the us will turn their guns on their so called brothers in arms when there is a conflict with China.

  8. Getting Enlisted in the US army is One of the fastest way to get US Citizenship. This guy went in with his eyes open. He died , but at the cost of a citizenship , a right of abode for himself and his immediate family in the land of opportunities. On the other hand , FT are imported in bulk without having much to give except to breath out more CO2 during the 7 hr breakdown.

  9. Matilah, please read more about the case and tell me if it is just hazing, initiation, orientation or pure racism.

Hazing or initiation don't end up with a bullet on the victim's head.

  10. It was a racist execution. Period.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Wikipedia should now redefine Hazing to include a bullet in the head.

ANYONE can edit wikipedia. Don't tell us, show us...or go the fuck home.

  14. That is your definition. I never believe that hazing should lead to a bullet in the head.

  15. redbean, really please grow a pair...or buy a pair .

It is all very well for you to sit on your high and mighty throne pontificating your neurotic moral code, but you can't/ won't even go to wikipedia and do what you so famously edict for everyone else.

What a fucking joke you are.

  16. P.S. Anything can lead to anything. Smoking can lead to cancer. Smoking can also lead to making new friends, and hanging out with current friends.

Hazing can lead to bonding and esprit d corps. It could also lead to suicide and murder.

Consider your state of neuroses. Perhaps consider alternatively:
Get real and be rational. Do the math!

  17. @anon 151

    Another ethnic-centered neurotic asshole.

Pte Chen is an American. He was intent on defending his country.

  18. redbean and many other "Asian" types behaviour:

The moment their neurotic ethno-centered, over-sensitive radar detects (alleged) "racism", they lose their shit and go nuts...and respond with, yep you guessed it RACSIM.

You can observe this in the debates about open borders and immigration into S'pore.

1st argument is always RACISM...and the race argument continues..."foreigners this that the other", "Singapore for Singaporeans" and associated bullshit. Irrational. Illogical. and downright ignorant and ugly.

What an embarrassment to the level headed Singaporeans (who want their country to prosper by being friendly and opening the door to everyone), and more mature examples of humanity in general.

  20. Dearest Matilah, have you finished your ranting? Let me refresh you with my Art of RAR, the Art of being reasonable to being ridiculous. Anyway you have been ridiculous from the start of this discussion.

To cut things short, being Singaporean is about NATIONALITY, nothing to do with race. Eh, this can understand or not? Got Chinese, Indian, Malay, Eurasian, Russian, American and all kinds of Singaporeans. Singaporean is not of a particular race.

To defend the interests of Singaporeans has nothing to do with racism. Betul tak? Boleh?

Ok,ok, let me try to make it simpler. You know ABC? ABC are alphabets, got nothing to do with numerals.

I am running out of simple explanations oredy. I hope you get it.

  22. Whereas in US, the chinese is bullied by the white, in Singapore, the citizens are bullized by the government.

    Anyone remember Allan Ooi ?

Oppss... we still have compliant press that mislead the public on Allan's case.

We should look at our own backyard first.

What is worse ? Been bully by local because you are foreigners or been bullied by government ?

  25. Redbean,

Whether I rant or not will not change the fact that you have some serious mental issues about race.

But that's ok. We are all flawed in some ways.

    I trust. ==> YOU <== get it?

    1) peranakan
    2) FT
    3) citizen
    4) indenture workers/maid

  29. So many narrow minded people here.. . Asian Americans have led America at the highest levels. One good example is General Eric Shinseki, former US Army Chief of Staff. Not to mention Senator Daniel Inouye, President Pro Tempore of the US Senate

  30. As for successful Japanese in the US, this is a strange phenomenon of the love hate relationship betw the Americans and their enemies in wars. Japan bombed Pearl Harbour, Americans nuked Nagasaki and Hiroshima. And American ruled Japan for many years. The Americans will have the same kind of relationship with the Vietnamese as they were arch enemies before.

But the hatred of Americans against Chinese went back to the days of indentured labour and semi slavery of the gold mines and building of railways by the Chinese coolies. After bullying the Chinese for centuries, the Americans have this hate Chinese psychic in many of them till today.

And the Chinese prolonged the hatred by being dismissive and apologetic whenever they were bullied by the Americans. This has encouraged the Americans to see them as inferior to them.

The Chinese need to stand up and slap the Americans when they were slapped. Only then will the Americans start to respect the Chinese as their equals. When Bruce Lee was around, there was some respect and some change in attitude towards the Chinese. But these were lost again.

The Chinese have to stop being apologetic when being bullied. They must stand up against the bullies and the villians and earn the respect if they want to go forwards without being bullied. They did not have the love hate relationship like the Japanese and Vietnamese, and even the Afro Americans who have been locked in war or a big struggle to know one another.

Also, after centuries of creating the yellow peril bogeyman and living with this myth, many Americans grew up hating the Chinese as part of their psychic.

There you go MS , shooting off your gob in a tangent again. That certain slang of english inferred by Anon 535 is referring to the Peranakan slang larr.
