I read about the posting by Jason Neo of YPAP yesterday. I saw the picture in the net. The offensive word or words were blanked out. I could only read, ‘Bus filled with young…’ I tried to guess and a few words came to my mine. They were quite innocent really. And I thought people were over reacting.
How could a young YPAP activist be so politically insensitive given the party and the country’s stand on extremist views and words that could stir up ugly emotions? How could political activists of any hue and colour, of any political party, be so ignorant and blatant to post hate mails in the net when several have been taken to task by the law.
I must say that I was taken aback when I read the missing words in the ST…’Bus filled with young terrorist trainees’. I could not believe my eyes. I was stunt. It was senseless. What is his motive for posting this?
Everyone is watching how this episode is going to develop. Hsien Loong Lee is in Jakarta. I think we will have to wait for his return to see what he will say or do. This incident should not have happened at all and must not happen again. The govt has to be very tough on such violations.
" Hsien Loong Lee is in Jakarta. I think we will have to wait for his return to see what he will say or do." .....
ReplyDeleteDear redbean
Not you too?
We are sheeple?
We are helpless.
We have no values of our own.
We must await official guidance from the annointed one to comfort & guide us in something as blatant as this?
Mati-lah Singapura, may be extreme, but sometimes he does have a point.
Singapore like this really mati-lah!
Will Jason Neo be prosecuted? Let's see whether there r 2 types if law in SG. 1 for PAP and the other for non PAP.
ReplyDeleteIt cannot be helped?
ReplyDeleteIt has happened, let's move on?
It is a once in every 50 years flood?
What do you want? 3 meals in a hawker centre, a food court or a restaurant?
Hsien Loong Lee is the boss man. Kuan Yew Lee is happily giving lectures in the world circuit and Chok Tong Goh is busy coaching TPL.
ReplyDeleteNo one else would dare to make an important decision like this except the boss man himself.
Rightfully, the Sedition Act shd be thrown at Neo. Or will it be selective punishment?
ReplyDeleteIs this a matter of party discipline or a police case?
ReplyDeleteJason Neo being a YP member should have known better than to spout nonsense online. He should be subjected to the full force of the law. Read more about it here.

Me would not blame Jason nor the People who lodged the Police Reports.
ReplyDeleteMe deems it as unavoidable development when there are religious manifestations displayed and whence some become sensitive to those manifestations.
It is only natural as one man's meat is another man's poison.
So long as there are religions, there are going to be sensitivity, some vehement and some violent.
I like to add to the above-mentioned comment that Jason is sensitive and so are those that reacted similarly liked him.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a case of the kettle calling the pot black.

Hi Darkscorpion, welcome to the blog. Absolutely agree with your observation.
ReplyDeletePatriot, I don't see this as a matter of sensitivity over religious matter. The calling of people as terrorists is just not acceptable.
Over sensitive is like someone does not like dogs and complains because another travel with his dog.
RB,
ReplyDeleteThe 'law' or practice of precedence says that JN would escape lightly given what happened to TPL. He would be characteristically 'pardoned' and given the light touch because of his association with the 'untouchable' party since as always, any blemish to any associate or underling of the party is considered a direct slur on the party itself. Now who in the party in his right mind or otherwise could possibly countenance such an catastrophic outcome? Not LKY, not LHL, surely not emeritus GCT, dah, dah and dah.
Which AGC, no DPP, no DISD, worthy of their next promotional prospect could possibly gain any brownie points for daring to initiate or suggest any correct positive legal sanction IN COMPLIANCE WITH AND IN CONGRUENCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE COUNTRY ON SEDITION TO REFLECT THE COUNTRY'S ABHORRENCE OF SUCH BEHAVIOUR AGAINST Jason Neo?
We must be joking in our dreams!!!

Ahem, you mean Pei Ling Tin?
Hi The, apparently everyone is very comfortable about the way Chinese names are written. LPPL, anything goes: )
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was a facebook administrator problem?
ReplyDeleteNo one coached Jason to blame the admin and he has since resigned from YPAP - perfect candidate for the book to be thrown at him to show that there is fair application of the law.
ReplyDeleteSaycheese
Chin Leng;
ReplyDeleteme appreciates your response and thank You for the explanation.

Straits Times say posting made in Feb.
ReplyDeleteJason joined PAP in June.
Timing relevant or not ah?
Timing of him writing the post prior to him joining YAP is totally irrelevant! He is a PAP supporter prior to joining YAP right?
ReplyDeleteOk...let's get one thing straight : Political Correctness is BULLSHIT
ReplyDeleteYou cannot progress as an individual or a nation if you tip toe around issues which inflame the senses. You need to be able to speak and express freely -- with the full gamut of emotion and the use of that special lexicon reserved for the most cutting metaphors you can come up with.
Here are some I've invented. Please feel free to use them, and perhaps they might catch on ::
SUCK THE COCK OF JESUS!
E.G. Eh, I accidentally erased your hard drive. Sorry ah...
Suck the cock of jesus lah you!!!! (expression of anger, disbelief and frustration)
LEE KUAN YEWS CRINKLY ASSHOLE
E.G. Wah very tired lah...yesterday I fuck 2 girls 5 times each. Must drink some Red Bull now.
Lee Kuan Yes crinkly arsehole lah you!!!! (expression of extreme skepticism, tinged with jealousy and intimidation)
...and so on..
Fuck you very much!
Why do people who don't like people (including small children) want to be politicians?
ReplyDeleteIf you don't love fellow Singaporeans.
If you don't respect fellow Singaporeans.
Why you want to be a politician?
Why you want to be my leader?
Anon 8:31, you asked the right question. The answer is money, and maybe ego, maybe power.
ReplyDeletePlease do not say our political leaders do not love us.
ReplyDeleteThey love us a lot in my experience as a Singaporean. They promised to deliver meals to those who do not have food. No Singaporean will be deprived of medicare, education and $2 health screens are made available to the elderly. As they had said many many times, no one will be left behind though they knew many had fallen through the cracks over the Last Decade.
However, it is obvious that some failures are unavoidable as no system is perfect. Negligence and incompetence are also to be expected of any human, including man and woman in power. Singaporeans are of course very forgiving and loyal to the Leaders, reason why they chose the same leaders election after elections.

If our "political leaders" really "love" us so much, then why do they have to take such a high salary, the highest in the world, in order to "love" us through their work? Why do couples contemplating marriage have to pay so much, and to wait 3-4 years for a new hdb flat? If our "political leaders" really love us, why are these couples in such a state now? And I'm sure there are plenty of similar egs of the "political leaders" "loving" us a lot that actually result in our lives being screwed. Please, for everyone's sake, sto "loving" us and just do your jobs properly. If you don't know what is the goal of your job, then remember these, ensure even distribution of wealth as the nation progress, not just a few, make cost of living and necessities cheaper, not more and more expensive. Make public services and related goods more quality, etc.
ReplyDeletePatriot, I'm glad u r so forgiving and still optimistic abt e current group of political leaders. I really hope you are right and that lives of singaporeans will be much better in a few years time. And I hope also that you have never being screwed personally by the policies of these loving political leaders. Cause I'm sure you'll be really sad to experience that. Anyway, in anytime when you decide otherwise and change your opinion of how loving are these political leaders, rest assured you'll be understood and find company with the 40%. We have been in your shoes and we will welcome you with open arms. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteHahaha
ReplyDeleteThe party will destroy itself. The sweetest icing on the cake was that Jason Neo came from the party itself. How ironic that it is happening. Or should I say Karma-ic.
The PAP in the minds of many people already destroyed the country with mass immigration.
How much longer will it last?
Openly cheer PAP on.
ReplyDeleteBut always vote Opposition to make sure things get done properly.
Single engine propeller aeroplane good.
Double engine propeller aeroplane better.
Thank you very much. We've learnt our lessons.
We are daft no more.
I have seen the truth many years back. I was part of the 60% for many years, long long ago.
