Like a prostitute

This is exactly what a truly free economy is like. Offer to anyone who has the money to pay for it, citizen or non citizen, good or bad person, no question ask as long as the party is willing to pay. The door is always open, and so are the legs. There is no consideration about right and wrong, about morals, obligations, loyalty and responsibility. A prostitute is only responsible to provide a service to satisfy the customer and collect her keeps. Period. Please don’t ask the prostitute to be nice. A prostitute is only nice to the one with the dole and for the moment. Do not bother about charity from the prostitute. Her mind set is that if she can offer or sacrifice herself, everything, pride and dignity, to earn that dollar, you better take care of yourself. Can prostitution be an honourable alternative for the viability of a state? I mean figuratively of course. Is our country just another prostitute?

  2. I have always discouraged my clients from touching S chips.

Prostitutions is in every aspect of our society. Lucky is talking about one specific section, in fact a sub section only.

  3. Those who sell their bodies are still better than those who sell their souls to the devils. At least the former provide services whereas the latter scheme through every deed with or without services. And if any service is provided, customer satisfaction is last in their motives.

Your underlying premise/ pre-supposition is that somehow you have morally judged prostitution as being "immoral" at best or "evil" at worst.

Is it? Not to me. A person owns their very existence and they are free to choose what to do as long as they do not force themselves (physically) on someone else.

Anyway, you have got one thing completely WRONG:

You can only buy what is for sale.

Free trade is a voluntary, 2-way contractual agreement between buyer and seller.

Not everything is "for sale" at any price.

Here's a harsh, stinging example to drive home the point:

If I offered you money to buy sexual services from one of your family, I would soon be feeling the effects of your fist on my face. No trade would occur.

The free market or free trade can sometimes look "unfair" and favours those with economic power (buyer) or supply power (seller). In this "game" some people "miss out". In a "hot" market buyers are pressured to pay more, in a "cool" market suppliers are pressured to accept less...that is the nature of the game.

The "free market" is not a "right". It is an honourific -- you have the right to choose to play in the market, but you have no right to "win" -- i.e. if you don't have the means to play (buyer or seller), that is just too bad.

  5. Matilah, do not confuse a prostitute from a non prostitute. A prostitute, anything goes as long as there is a willing buyer.

Prostitution as a state craft is base. Some prostitution is acceptable and some time unavoidable and could be coerced into it. A state that willingly prostitute itself at all cost, without moderation, is like uncontrolled capitalism. The freer it is, the rich poor gap will reach its climax earlier and a revolution will come earlier as well.

Unrestrained capitalism, free economy or prostitution is dangerous.

  6. Oh, prostitution as a profession has no morals or good or bad. It is just a profession unless it is forced prostitution.

Like patriot said, it is a business for willing buyer and willing seller.

In reality many prostitutes are better human beans than the ruthless professionals who unashamingly charged people whatever amount they want without mercy and at a time when the victims needed their help most. Helpless victims are easy prey. Prostitutes don't prey on their victims. They only solicit. They are solicitors that made their clients happy at a reasonable price.

  7. redbean -- making no sense again,

    > A prostitute, anything goes as long as there is a willing buyer. <

Rubbish lah. Even for commercial sex there are "negotiated terms". You and your hooker agree to what the service entails. "Anything goes" means for e.g. I can shit in her mouth and vomit on her hair? No way -- not unless it is agreed to first and the price negotiated accordingly.

Prostitution is one of the epitome's of free-wheeling capitalism, not the other way around as you have it. Prostitution is only one example of what is available in a free market, so don't be so dishonest in trying to evoke negative emotion from your readers by being overly "sensational".

Then again, you do have a media background, so if I am expecting objectivity instead of editorializing, exaggeration and borderline hysteria...I think I may be expecting too much. ;-)

  8. If the strings were not pulled back, the crazy people would have continued happily with their affordable housing, importing hundreds of thousands of foreigners and housing prices hitting the roof. And who knows what would happen.

That was the kind of prostitution I am talking about. Everyone enjoying a good fuck and getting delirious without a worry that the roof will collapse on them.

It was sheer madness, and like all drunkards, not knowing that they were high and insensitive to what is happening around them.

  9. I think you exaggerate too much.

But for the sake of argument, let's presume that you are orrect -- that the people are carousing without any care for tomorrow...

...do you think that anything you say or do will make any difference; do you think anyone would give a moment's thought to your "The Sky Is Falling" theory and stop their fun?

    You have to be kidding!
