More kicking around
Asia Media Journal, 13 May 2010
Hong Kong – Singapore’s future as a regional media hub is under threat as a result of new government rules for the pay-TV industry, said the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA), which represents the interests of 130 content producers, pay-TV platform operators and equipment-and-service suppliers across 16 Asian markets.
The above extracts showed how a stupid decision could snowball to bigger problems and requiring ever bigger intervention by the govt. And this thing is not going to stop and the international players are not going to say, 'Enough, let's move on.'
Maybe the three telco should be merged into one to avoid more problems coming our way.
This KASBAH clique, for their own selfish reason, don't like two telco giants to come together to avoid paying a ransom individually to put up something for stupid Singaporeans who like watching 20 grown men kicking a stupid ball for 90 minutes.
ReplyDeleteMr. Bean, did I get it right?
Hehe.
In this case we deserved to be kicked around.
ReplyDeleteEver since the lions rule Singapore, the sheeples have been frolicked, is being played and will be kicked infinitely.
ReplyDeleteAll the bullying will only stop when the lions' claws and teeth are removed.

To the big media players: don't waste your time -- move on. Media is state-regulated in S'pore.
ReplyDeleteMe thinks that; if regulators are removed and a real genuine free market is established. Then the more players there are in goods and services, the better it will be for everybody.
ReplyDeleteSo, let's do away with regulators.
THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD ENSURE FAIR COMPETITIONS AND FAIR DEALINGS IN EVERYTHING. IT IS THE ONLY DUTY THE GOVERNORS HAVE TO DO.

"Maybe the three telcos should be merged into one....."
ReplyDeleteDon't say maybe. It will be!
The problem lies in having regulators who are also connected with parties playing the game.
ReplyDeleteI love the wayang, especially the Indonesian kind called 'wayang kulit'. It is the person behind that moves the puppets.
