Casino Autonomous Regions

Smoking allowed in the two casinos. Isn't that great? While Singaporeans have gotten rid of this dirty and smelly habit and could not stand the sight and smell of tobacco and cigarette butts, we know have to bear with them all over again, all because of money. For money's sake, what else do we want to sell out? Maybe we can turn the casinos into autonomous regions and allowed whatever we do not allowed in the main island. Let them have chewing gums, littering and spitting are ok too. And let the Ah Longs operate there. Oh, move Geylang over there too. Just keep all the sleaze there may be a way to keep the main island clean and healthy. What am I talking about? There is one casino in the main prime city area. How? Imagine all the hard works and campaigns and money spent to educate a population to be like the civilised first world, clean, impeccable and sauve, and we are going to abandon it for money. We allowed the foreigners to come here to spit, litter, commit crimes and now to smoke in our midst, in our island in the sun and our prime Marina Bay. What is going on?

  2. Allow me to say that i have been smoking for over 5 decades and shall i say i do look younger than the Minister of Health of SIN.
Me will also declare that i abide by all the Laws of the tiny dot including those governing smoking.
Despite the above-said, the DOUBLE STANDARDS pertaining to smoking in this land is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE to me.

There are other double standards, even multiple and variating ones as well in other areas in SIN.
    AND
the SINS lie in not having principle in implementing LAWS. In AIRCONDITIONED CASINOS, smoking is permitted in designated areas. In much of other open areas, smoking is ban, where is the SENSIBILITY ???
Because of money, the LAWS are made flexible, where is the PRINCIPLE ???
Why don't the LEADERS go and make their wealth in the private sector since they claim they could very well make much more than they are doing now.
Go, go and make your monies and stop leading us, we are likely to YOU ALL not fit as Leaders as there is glaring lacks of principle in YOU ALL.

  7. I have a better idea------ have printings on the cigarettes with the word "casino". So only those cigarettes with such printing are allowed to be sold in RWS, otherwise it is an offence.

  8. Hi Redbean, I think it is OK to allow smoking in the casinoes as long as it is only confined to certain areas of the complex. Furthermore most of those people who are in the cosinoes will be foreigners not Singaporean. At the end of the day, money for Singapore is more important the health of foreigners.

  9. yup, we've heard that one before.

And you're not quite correct to say that most visitors to the casinos are foreigners. Look around you and you'll see more Sickaporeans than the rich high rollers we're supposed to be attracting. The business just went from the bookies, gambling dens, Singapore Pools to the Resort.

One rule for the sheep in the pen and another for the gawkers. Not that the french gourmet amateur cook's men are doing much of a job enforcing the no smoking rule in airconditioned premises, eating houses or entertainment outlets.

  10. The smokers need some place to smoke. But they should ensure that there is no second smoke for the non smokers now that we know how dangerous it is.

And a central aircon system sharing the same aircon ducts, not only non smokers will be exposed to second hand smoke, the place will smell and the clothing will smell.

I thought we are going to have the most wholesome family casinos. Apparently it is not going to be. Can't believe we can compromise our policies and healthcare to such an extent when we are almost there in curbing smoking to the future generations.

    Now no need to quit.

  11. I don't think the state should allow or disallow smoking on private premises as that decision is entirely the owner's business and no one elses.

The casinos can and will do anything it take to make as much money and attract as many gamblers as they can.

You don't like it? Then stay the fuck away from those unholy smokers and their evil ways and stroke your genitals in the privace and smoke-free comfort of your home, perhaps with all your holier-than-thou friends.

  12. Poor Singaporeans. They are worse than second class citizens, delegated to living lives like lambs and have no rights whatsoever.

But, think of it. They seem to be asking to be screwed and shouting more, more, more.

  13. Matilah, like it or not, the smokers are smelly and dirty. And the non smokers are keeping themselves as far away as they can get. But a smoker will spread his smell everywhere he goes, and leaves behind all his dirty habits as evidence, match sticks, cigarette butts, cigarette wrappers etc etc. Yak.

    Please stay away from me.

Emerging from the casinos in Genting Highland makes one smell all over and need an hour of scrup down to smell good and clean again.

  14. Redbean Sir;
me thinks You are guilty of discriminating smokers. One mans' meat is another mans' poison. What sin is there in smoking for You to say what You did above.

Me smokes since the age of seven and is the second commenter above. I say Geylang is a place of SIN, but i will never say that those husbands and fathers that patronize the place are sinners. Those that allows the place to run and operate are.

If they can ban chewing gums from being imported, WHY CAN'T THEY BAN THE SALES OF TOBACCO ??? HYPOCRITES !

  15. Oops, I was just being cheeky with Matilah. Not wanting to offend the smokers. But smokers should also be mindful that non smokers have more acute senses and cigarette smokes and smell are very offensive to them. It is a kind of two different worlds.

Smokers please have a thought for the non smokers.

  16. as I said before: redbean is free to be a "good human being" by staying home and playing with his dog's balls, instead of coming out to a place which ALLOWS smoking and telling everyone who is smoking THERE (only there, not anywhere else) how fucked and evil they are.

Hey redbean, take it out by fondling your dog lah, and do humanity a favour as well as pleasure your pet. It is "win-win" for everyone.

Leave other PEACEFUL people alone to kill themselves if they wish to, or to simply enjoy an "expensive" pastime and bet their money on chance.

  17. P.S. Smoker's habit does smell -- and it lingers.

The smell of durian lingers too. That's why they are banned from many places. However people can still enjoy smelly durians, even thought the odour lingers.

So what the motherfuck is "wrong" by allowing smokers to enjoy smelly cigarettes?

Can't you be tolerant? Bigoted fuck head :)

  18. Ok you win. When comparing the smell of smokers to durians, this kind of logic I can never beat. I concede: )
