The political party that will last a million years

Hsien Loong has announced that the PAP is all ready for the next General Election. It has another slate of high calibre candidates all ready to serve the people. This self renewal process of a political party, running in clockwork precision is second to none in the world. With such an efficient party, recruiting the best people into its fold, there is no chance that any other party could ever think of unseating it from power. Then there are other great factors in the PAP's favour. A great record of 45 years of achievement. An electoral system that is designed by the PAP and is obviously more favourable to it. And there are all the machinery that counts during a general election that will be activated to support the party. And there is a grateful people all sold by what the PAP can do for them. How else can any party hope to challenge the PAP? The PAP is probably the only political party that is designed to rule forever. This is another uniquely Singapore invention. It is an infallible party.

  1. You are so right when you said that this will be the party that will hold power for all eternity. Everything is in theor favour. If there is anyhting that it amiss, then they will "fix" it. Any loud-mouths who dare say anything that opposes their policies, eg. transparency or checks and balances etc, sue them and make them bankrupt so they cannot stand for election or even send them to prison. That way, we will have a govt that will last forever and ever and we will all live happily ever after. God save the PAP and long live the emperor. Clap clap clap cheer cheer cheer. Uthopia forever, great...... or will it?

Oops, sorry, I forgot that the PAP was founded by 'God' himself.

  3. I beg to differ. If you are able to see deeper, PAP will lost election if their candidates corrupts just like what Taiwan Ex President Chen.

  4. hi Toothless Tiger, welcome to the blog.

corruption is another plus to the PAP. All its candidates are corruption free, especially with a system that pays them so well that there is not need to be corrupt.

so my motion that it will be The political party forever still holds: )

  5. The problem is that in other countries they still managed to allow a semblance of opposition and avenues to change the system.

Here, they have invariably closed all loopholes, defanged any strong opposition movements spouting green shoots, and creating a sham election system by changing the rules to favour themselves.

On an optimistic note, even centuries old dynasties can fall and dictatorial rule can crumble.

But sadly, Singaporeans can never see the day of people's power. Not in our lifetime, and by the looks of things, never.

Please do not bet on that. Singaporeans love candies, a little of that just before GE and they keep the dynasty going. Suckers forever.

Why Government Grows & Grows & Grows
The bad consequences of a government program usually don’t show up
immediately. And the delay may be long enough to hide the connection between
    the program and its results.
So government never has to say it’s sorry — never has to take responsibility
for the misery it causes. Instead, it can blame everything on personal greed,
profit-hungry corporations, and the “private sector.” And the government’s cure
for the problems is to impose bigger programs, more regulation, and higher
    taxes.

Hahhahah... my balls are laughing, not at the sillyness of LHL's statement, but THE FACT that the majority of people actually BELIEVE HIM!

Remember folks: THE PEOPLE GET THE GOVERNMENT THEY DESERVE!
