No shame, no guilt, no remorse

Did anyone notice any sense of shame, any feeling of guilt or any hint of remorse? Any sensible person faced with such blatant and outrageous acts of impropriety would have long said, enough, can’t take it anymore, run away to hide, and not to face the world again. But no, there is nothing wrong. Everything is justifiable, can be explained and is reasonable or normal. I am above the law, above all human norms and behaviour, nothing can stain me. I have done so much good, so much merit, whatever things that I have done were mere little indiscretions. No, not indiscretions, they are normal acts of a human bean and I am a normal human bean, with all my greed, lust, and extravagance. The above probably explain why all the shit were allowed to be aired in public over so many days, for all to see. Is there any decent man kind enough to advise the tart that the whole thing is so ridiculous it is better to call it off immediately, not even to have it started in the first place? Anyone with an ounce of intelligence could see the senseless nature of the whole proceedings. But no, it must go on public record that I have done no wrong. I am beyond reproach, and if I have done anything stupid, they are excusable as I have done big things and done great things. All the great things that I have done must be enough to mitigate the little silly things that I have done. Oops, whatever I done were not silly or wrong. I have done no wrong. That is why I am standing here facing the music. For no dirt or shit can stain me. Oh come on, spare the people and the teacher and the truth from being tarnished by your stupidity. Or have we reached a stage when all the rich and powerful believes that with money and fame, there is no fear of shame, there is no shame as long as your bank account is full of money.

  2. Redbean,

More and more beans have no shame. Did something evil ? No problem, especially those with high academical qualifications, they have received sufficient training to be able to use words & jargons to mystify their shameful act. Twist the fact, use their words to confuse you.

  4. Trust No One, especially those that walks on two legs.

This is an imperfect world. Even the Earth's orbit around the sun is not totally perfect or the same, year after year, what more the fallacies and imperfections of Man.

All Men are greedy. Gordon Gecko, Presidents, Monks, Priests, Politicians, et al. All Men (and Women, although they don't express it openly)are lustful, deceitful and full of avarice.

The sooner we accept this imperfection, the wiser we will be.

  5. Hi Redbean, what are you talking about? Am away from Singapore so have no idea who or what your article refer to.

  6. hi everyone, and hi speed,

just the ST over the last few days and you will know what i meant. but this is what our society has become when everything is commercialised, including religion and charity. now you aren't sure who is good and who is bad. the good could be badder than the bad.

  7. Yes Redbean,

This society has more leeches now. These leeches indulged extravagantly on the expense of others.

  8. the new entrepreneur class.

put on a robe, any kind of robe, put on a front, full of kindness and compassion, vow to save the sick and the poor, go on stage and beg in a big way. engage all the professionals to volunteer their expertise for free.

this is the new short cut to riches, to become multi millionaires.

  9. So good to be rich right? Especially when it means using other people's money. Thus it is tolerable to receive some public scolding la, worth it la.

  10. In the old days when you call a person greedy, he is bound to feel the shame. But this is a 'greed is good' society now, so no shame, no guilt and no remorse.

And saying that because everyone else is doing it, and by following them, does not mean one is not doing anything wrong. Such an argument is just not justifiable.

  12. maybe the whole episode is staged to educate the stupid masses not to easily believe in what they see. for what they see is not what they get.

think, question and look at the truth objectively. do not be blinded for your own good. do not be deceived. look at what they did and not what they claimed to have done.

  13. Walau,

Look at the friggin' market. I hope you fellas made some money.

Didn't I say that the market is going UP, UP and UP?

And the brain dead PRC offered another $20K for my 3 Room HDB!

    Greed IS Good!

    :-))

  14. as a first time buyer, new citizen?, he is entitled to a $40k subsidy. split half with you. still gains $20k. not a bad deal.

    ReplyDelete
  15. And if true, this $40k subsidy came from the pockets of Redbean, Lost Citizen, Jaunty Jabber and the Anonymous posters. Matilah out of reach for now. Not bad.

I am proud to say that I did not donate one cent but my wife is regretting she rang the phone non stop to throw away MY money down the tube to a cesspit.

  18. Wrong.

  19. if everyone, or every 3 rm owners, sell his flat to the new citizens and downgrade to a rental flat, what will be the eventual outcome? but one good thing is that after their lifespan is over, there will be no traces of them left behind.

no one will know what happens.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The only trace that will be left behind shall be the housing debts.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yup, the subsidy comes from all citizens of Singapore. Let them have it with our blessings. It is not our money anymore, since it really belongs to the Government. Anyway, what is a few thousand K compared to the tens of billions lost by Temasek/GIC?

    Lost Citizen

    ReplyDelete
  22. Lost Citizen,

Anything that belongs to the government, you have a share in it although minute. Every morning when the Prez drinks his cuppa, you, me and everyone also partly owns this cup of coffee. My coffee is mine and I will drink it anyway I like, with or without sugar.

    Redbean,

Don't worry too much about the hereafter. Just rake in the dough now. The PRC is no duffer. My 3 room HDB has another 69 years left. He can stay at most another 15 years after which it will go en bloc and the govt. will pay him the market price then to take over the apartment, again out of the Jabbers' pockets. By which time, his son will graduate from the University of California at Berkeley and a nice big house is waiting for him there.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Haha Wally,

The money that belongs to the Government I would not dream of having even a 'molecule' share of it, not to mention a minute.

It is an unquestionable fact. Do I have a say in whatever is done with it? Nothing. That's the happy part, because I don't have to worry about how much they lost on investments or that they spent the money in helping the rich.

Of course, the fact that I stay in Hougang makes it even more obvious in my belief.

    Lost Citizen

  24. "....because I don't have to worry about how much they lost on investments...."

    Hehe Lost,

Sorry to spoil your reverie hor. If they keep losing and the stash we have in the kitty is about all we have since we have got no diamonds, oil or iron ore underneath the Island except a lot of MRT tunnels, soon, one Malaysian Dinggit will be worth 100 Singgit.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So be it, Wally.

Someone else's kitty is still someone else's kitty whether it is empty or full. Why worry unneccessarily about that. They don't worry about my kitty.

If Malaysia does eventually do better than us, we still have to survive, so, again, why worry about that. Right now we are doing very much better than eg Myanmar, but the people over there are still surviving, on good honest hard work.

At the most, over here, we can still have red bean soup for breakfast and lunch and red bean bun for dinner. It makes one healthier on a vegetarian diet, without the sickness of the overfed rich. And red bean may turn out to be our savior.

In the end it is still ashes to ashes and dust to dust. That's the time when you can say that all men are equal, earthly speaking.

I know you do not worry about the hereafter, but some people, like redbean and me, do. You may call us silly, so be it, for now.

    Lost Citizen

    ReplyDelete
  26. They don't worry about your kitty because your kitty depends on their kitty which ultimately is your kitty.

    Geddit?

    I'm a bit confused myself!

  30. Redbean,

Your writing skills have escalated quite alot, subtle yet obvious, obvious yet subtle.

It is enjoyable to read when you point at something/someone in particular while at the same time machine-gun swept across to some other things/people in general.

  33. haha wally,

soon i will upgrade myself to write in parables : )

or maybe i shall write in koans. but koans will be too tough, insolvent, to borrow a financial term. actually unsolvable.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Dear Redbean,

When is your first parables coming out? Your fan wants your autograph.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sir,

    What's koan ?

    ReplyDelete
  36. hi jaunty, i need to spend a month in the desert first before my first parable is out.

oh, koan is a kind of parables of sort used by the zen buddhist as a guide to meditation. it is a kind of unsolvable problem. eg, clapping with one hand. just think about it, put all your thoughts into what this means.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thank You for the explanation Sir.

    Much appreciated !
