The best foreign talents in finance are not found in Wall Streets or any European cities. These people make money by cooking the books. The real talents are in the Middle East. The Arab sovereign funds are making billions while we are losing billions. What more to say.
Quick quick, send our recruitment team there and stop wasting money recruiting from the US or UK.
Sorry to disappoint you but the Arabs are not doing the job. Their hired hands, meaning westerners are. Probably paid a handsome commission or bonus based on performance. No paltry sum when you consider the amount at stake.
ReplyDeleteWally Buffet.
The PRC are going to own it all. The communists are going to give the capitalists a well-deserved lesson in economics.
ReplyDeleteHere my middle finger to the PRC to remind them about THE MASSACRE they brought on their own people 20 years ago.
ReplyDeleteQuick quick, send our recruitment team there and stop wasting money recruiting from the US or UK.
ReplyDeleteyes yes, the arabs will like it here, we have great homos to make them happy happy.
matilah, why no third finger to the US for the May 4 1970 massacre of students of Kent State University by the Ohio National Guards.
ReplyDeleteshooting and killing unarmed students is not necessary the specialty of PRC.
KSU was a random event. Tiannemen otoh was blatant state-sanctioned oppression of a group of citizens using raw military might. their sole 'sin'? Asking for the one basic thing that all human beings should be accorded: freedom.
ReplyDeleteFreedom and Democracy. Nice sounding words. But hollow substance when total anarchy reigns. When anarchy rules, everyone loses and suffer the consequences. No regime anywhere on this planet is free from being tainted with excess but when trouble makers who may be just puppets seek to usurp the lawful government of the land, some drastic measures will have to be taken.
ReplyDeleteOnly the very naive will totally believe that what happened in Tiannemen was just some students wanting more freedom.
Wally Buffet.
They always want you to believe what they want you to believe.
ReplyDeleteIs the war in Iraq about freedom for the Iraqis? Or about oil?
When this is ended, we soon forget about the dubious reasons for the war while they will start another war with even more dubious excuses. And we will still continue to believe them.
Lost Citizen
And only the morally bankrupt will believe that crushing student protesters with tanks in the name of preserving status quo and preventing anarchy is totally acceptable.
ReplyDeletewhy is tiananmen such a big issue? ok, it is a big issue and should be remembered.
ReplyDeletedoes anyone want to remember the slaughtering of 80m red indians in America so that the white men can take over their land?
So sorry to say this but only the very naive and the politically gullible will believe that allowing puppet student activists to create anarchy in the name of democracy and freedom to bring down the country like what the USSR was ignominiously made to splinter,is acceptable.
ReplyDeleteGreat people in Singapore professing to the (China)Chinese on the Art of Governing their huge nation.
ReplyDeletePlease show your mettles by helping the Local Leadership, which suffers from unceasing and relentless scathings from the citizens especially the Net Savvy ones. Show You can help to build a model nation for the World to see.
The Local Leadership does not need help because their iron grip is even more secure than the Chinese Leadership nowadays.
ReplyDeleteThe Chinese Leadership seems to show more signs of loosening up and forging a more gracious society. I just saw on TV Hu Jintao mixing with the ordinary Chinese people a few daus ago. You could sense the sincerity, warmth and friendliness in their exchanges.
I won't say too much otherwise some people cannot tahan and may threaten to ship me out to China.
Lost Citizen
And I am also sorry to say only the utterly ruthless and those totally devoid of any morals will nonchalantly justify the state sanctioned murder of its own citizens as acceptable so as to prevent so-called anarchy.
ReplyDeletethe circumstances of china then was very precarious. it was and is always wrong for a govt to kill or jail its people for political reasons.
ReplyDeleteon hindsight, if the students were allowed to run anarchy and break up china, would it be better today? or after tiananmen, the loss of some lives, is it worth it looking at the progress china made to bring food on the table of more than 1b people, and giving them some pride to live as an equal among peoples of all nations?
redbean and his moral or in this case IMmoral equivalents:
ReplyDelete> does anyone want to remember the slaughtering of 80m red indians in America so that the white men can take over their land? <
What the heck? The indians don't even want to remember. They're too busy getting drunk and enjoying all that money from the casinos they own!
Anyway, it is America — no one is preventing them from rembering if they so choose.
The case in China is different: the government continues to lie to the world, and imposes brutal restrictions on China's own people honoring their fallen friends and loved ones.
Really redbean, if you are going to make some form of "equivalence" at least make it clever.
