Notable quote by Hsien Loong

'On a long term basis, overall, the way the Govt has managed the money, we haven't done badly.' Lee Hsien Loong I disagree. We have managed our money well until we started the shopping spree. And the last few deals to buy the banks, were at best, good intention but poor execution. Losing $100b can never be called 'haven't done badly.'

  2. Well, too abd for her then. With al those perks comes responsibility as well. The buck has to stop with her. There can be no two ways about that. She should have been made to pay for those costly mistakes, instead of being allowed to just walk away and hand over the mess to the incoming Ang Mor. I guess if your husband is the PM, you can get away with anything.

  3. Up to now they still obviously do not understand what the gripe is all about. People are asking why they bought into the troubled banks when so many experts were raising alarm bells about the impending mortgage crisis since early 2007.

Whether we are buying those shares for long term or short term investments is another issue. We could have bought in now and saved billions if we had listened to those experts. I guess they think they are over themselves trying to prove the experts wrong.

  4. Gordon Brown bankrupted the UK.
    German rebulic — bankrupt
    Iceland — beyond bankrupt
    California — bankrupt

C'mon PM Lee, you could do better than that. How come you still have money left over?

Get with the program! The idea is to BANKRUPT your state and country so that you can seize the opportunities which arise in times of crisis.

PM Lee, you have my blessing and encouragement to go out and lose some more money, and show the white-man your resolve. You must rise to challenge Robert Mugabe in terms of 'statesmanship' and legalised gangsterism and nationalised, organised crime — The Grand Prix: The World's Biggest Winner.

  6. ok, ok, it is just a difference in perception and opinion, just like $600k is a peanut to some but a fortune to others.

everyone is entitled to his opinion. everyone has the freedom to agree or disagree.
