The evolving A Team

The recent events that are turning paradise topsy turvy is churning up an unexpected result. We are seeing the spontaneous appearance of people into the political scene. This is the kind of development in history, that in times of crisis or of need, able men and women, some kind of mavericks, will stand out to find their rightful places, to do the needful. Tan Kin Lian is one of them. Then you have Leong Sze Hian and to a certain extent you have Goh Meng Seng, and a few others sprouting out in the field of Hong Lim. Another one that is increasingly making his presence felt is PN Balji. And when Subhas Anandan made his mark yesterday in the Probono, he too could be another new maverick in the making. Among them we can easily field an A Team for a GRC. A Team like this will easily win in the next GE. And as the day progresses, more of these men and women will step forward to be counted. This is the kind of development that will occur when change is inevitable and is near.

  1. Whatever you say and however you say it, Redbean, you live in a dream world. Fielding a GRC with your A-team is an impossibility and the chances of winning is absolutely and/or definitely zero.
There will be hurdles, obstacles and all sorts of new laws and regulations yet to be introduced that will make your A-team a sure loser before they start. Want to bet on it??

  2. the position of presidency has been barb wired and only the whitest of the whitest, the cleverest of the cleverest, can ever think of getting near it. shit, my ambition of becoming a president got hijacked.

in the case of becoming an MP, the conditions are not that stringent. so far so good. so these fine gentlemen should not encounter any great difficulty if they were to run for a GRC.

  3. Dear Beanie, hate to burst your bubble. Last I heard, no one from TOC was or is interested in joining a political party. I see more walk over for the next election simply because few experienced professionals or none are stepping forward to lead. This time, there are critical voices, but no one is committed enough to take that additional step to lead. In other words, all talk big but no action.

  5. Shows scraping the drain if Balji and Goh Meng Seng are mentioned in same breadth as the three vv suitable "good men".

Vote PAP if Meng Seng and Balji stand.

  7. Dream on.

The So-Called A-Team have only appeared because of specific issues and have only been prominent because they have latched on to a specific groundswell of unhappiness.

Beyond these specific issues, these guys really have nothing to offer and possibly fade when these issues fade into obscurity.

  8. hi A Tan and puppy, welcome to the blog.

an A team is a relative concept. also it depends on what they are good at and who says so.

this A team is the best at this moment in time. there are many who are better in the pipeline.

as for goh meng seng and balji, they are good enough, and decent enough, as good as many in the ruling party today.

my view is that if they really can stand together, the time is ripe for the people to vote them into parliament. but this is only my assessment.
