Invasion of the journalists and reporters

Yes they are coming. The Straits Times is unleashing them into cyberspace to compete for readership. And ST has assured that they will continue to provide the quality of accurate reporting that is its trademark. So we will see more blogs by the professionals and read their views of things, events and issues. I think this is implied, other than just reporting on factual stuff. And would their blogs be censored and edited by the editors first before they can be read? This is getting interesting. Cyberspace will never be the same again.

  1. What make you think that people would want to go to their(reporters) blogs?

  2. Not everything we read on cyberspace can be taken at face value. Lots of stuff have to be taken with general doses of salt :p

  3. I bet what they blog about would run counter to the thoughts of redbean. Therein lies the problem. People would avoid them like the plague. Then it is back to square one if the purpose of the invasion is to compete for readership by dishing out propaganda. Readers are smarter than what the government thinks.

  4. there is now a prevailing trend of avoiding TOM. and this is all TOM's own doing. when they enter cyberspace, they will come in with a lot of goodies like STOMP did. win prizes and freebies. these will be attractive to some.

what we need to do is continue to write sensible views that is as near to the truth as possible. or like what ho kwon ping said yesterday. speak with conviction and sensibly. this is especially true for the younger generation. you will take over whatever that is left of this country. better speak your peace or you may be left with nothing.
