Foreign Talent as PM
Are Singaporeans ready to accept our political leaders who are Singaporeans but also hold foreign passports? Are we able to accept our future PM to be a “foreign talent”?
Lam Pin Min |
I would like to know what is MP Lam Pin Min's view? He posted the questions on the p65 site. The people will be more interested to know where he stands on such an issue and also where the other MPs' stand on this.
Would he agree and would the govt agree if the people say it is ok to have a foreign talent as our MP? In fact many voices have expressed why not? Why not pay a cheaper foreign talent to do the job at probably 10% of the pay?
this is exactly what i have in mind, we brought in more than 1 million foreign talents, from skudai, pontian in their secondhand scooters to hillbillies from ho chi minn etc, and we welcome them into every industries EXCEPT this one.
ReplyDeletewhen you tell us singaporeans are not afraid of competition, i didnt think you wud double talk; just becos millions geniuses from india, china, vietnam wont mind taking on your job for a fraction of your pay and with a 100% increase in performance, is not a good reason to not welcome them.
The sheeple can vote in whoever they want.
ReplyDeleteBack in the early days when Lee Kuan Yew was campaigning as a "foreign talent" he nearly got voted in in Malaysia. UMNO had to step in and "sabo" him.
There's a good number of your outstanding ministers who were Malaysians. That's foreign talent for you guys - or is it because yellow-skinned ones are easier to digest?
ReplyDeleteprecisely, why stop at malaysians? our gov shud venture further and not be afraid to embrace super talents from the region that are smarter than our ranks a thousand times.
ReplyDeleteHow about a great computer A.I. - like, the successor to Deep Blue?
ReplyDeleteSince Singaporean ministers are largely dictated by logic, and computers are far superior at abstract logical games.
The priority is to get a FT as our PM. Should keep him foreign by issuing him only an employment pass only. And to be fair to all citizens, put such FT candidates up for election.
ReplyDeleteGood to have one of the Myanmar or Thai Generals to become our PM. Then we can get free drugs and rice.
ReplyDeletei still like the idea of deep blue. it is quite easy to manage by logic. and definitely deep blue is easier and cheaper to upkeep. it is very intelligent but no emo or ego or desire to worry about.
ReplyDeleteOh, bring on the Malaysian foreign talent! (and keep the free drugs from Burma)
