It is starting to happen
Two Bangladeshi workers were charged in court for the murder of a Singaporean, a security guard. Two other suspects were still at large. The security guard and his girlfriend used to rent a room to several Bangladeshi workers.
This is a case that is waiting to happen. As the foreign workers get more familiar with the locals and the environment, some will get into mischiefs. And as the frequency gets higher, things will only get worst.
Soon Singaporeans would live in fear of the foreigner workers living next doors. We have been living in a peaceful paradise for too long. Things are going to change, very fast. It may get to a point that we would be worried of our children and daughters walking out of the flats or coming home at night.
Singaporeans must be prepared to accept such a development as they open their flats and homes to foreign workers. Not that all foreign workers are bad. Many are good and decent fellows. You only need 1% and our lives will be torned to pieces. We have 1 million foreigners living in our midst. 1% is a big number to terrorise the innocent, unprepared and unthinking locals.
Redbean, if you were white, I am certain that you'd be a Grand Master in the Ku Klux Klan.
ReplyDeletelet me bleach myself first and call myself bean red.
ReplyDeletei am singaporean and i am thinking singaporeans first.
like it or not, foreign workers from anywhere, are hungry and at times desperate. it is natural that when they are in such a state of mind that they will return to their basic instinct. and they will do anything against conscience and moral of a civilised society. the danger is that you do not know when or how many will be in such a mental state of mind to resort to hurt and harm others.
ReplyDeletethe rottweillers are also in such a state. feed them well and nothing will go wrong. but once their animal instinct takes over, they will behave like animals.
never take them for granted. one moment they can be loving pet. the next moment they will tear the owner to pieces.
Animals react because they are "programed" by nature. If they're hungry, they will search and kill for food.
ReplyDeleteWhen humans get humgry they buy food. Humans are capable (although they don't always do it) of making moral choices based on ideas formed in the minds of humans; ideas relating to ans defining what "morality" is.
That is the difference between humans and animals. And it surprises me that you don't seem to know the difference.
> i am singaporean and i am thinking singaporeans first. <
That parallels the philosophies of 2 incestuous organisations UMNO and redneck/trailer-trash KKK.
I'm Singaporean, but I think of myself first. Somewhere down the list, I think about Singapore.
And the reason foreign workers are there is because they "cost less" to do certain jobs. Even your $5mil Caucasian CEO "costs less" than a local, because there is no local capable of being hired at ANY cost
Having an ample supply of labour at "the right market price" boosts the country's aggregate productivity, enhances opportunities for wealth creation, and in general is good for all our lives, and my life in particular.
It is purely in my self interest that I defend the open borders and the open labour market in S'pore. But I can tell you, the whole country benefits as a result too—and lest we forget, the foreign workers send money home so that as time goes on, the levels of wealth in their own society rise too.
And in case readers have forgotten:
The businesses who hire foreign workers do so out of self-interest. The foreign workers who choose to work in S'pore do so out of their own self-interest. The only way to a "win-win" creation of wealth is to allow humans to act in their own self-interest.
whether it is kkk, umno or matilah or redbean, it is always self interest, for self or group. no diff.
ReplyDeletei am not against foreign talents per se. there are many jobs that singaporeans will not want to do. there are jobs that singaporeans cannot do. in between these two, singaporeans or fts both can do all the jobs. the question is how much?
as a private organisation that is profit oriented, it is only natural that they look at cost effectiveness.
but as a country, if it just look at cost effectiveness and does not distinguish between singaporeans and others, then either the govt will go or the country will go. initially the people will go first. later all those who cannot go will have to make a stand.
How do you know what jobs a Singaporean is capable of and which one's better suited to a foreigner?
ReplyDeleteIt is IMPOSSIBLE to even consider. The ONLY way is for the market to work it out.
The Xenophobic Nationalism you display does not serve the long term. If a govt goes, a govt goes—the sheeple WILL ALWAYS get a govt they deserve. That is also beyond your control.
If the sheeple lose their cuntry, they'd deserve it — also beyond your control.
You "make a stand"? What for? It's futile. Markets are DEMAND DRIVEN, i.e. you are only one player in the market—that is IF YOU are in the market as a player per se. Why?
Because being in a market is an "HONOURIFIC", not an entitlement. Menaing, you have to CHOOSE to be in the market ans others have to ACCEPT your presence there.
