Return of the Knight
It is good that Glen Knight is allowed to practise his trade again. He had gone through very rough time and had paid a very heavy price for his mistakes. He took the punishment gentlemanly and quietly and had lived a life of a reform man, in the wilderness.
Though the reason to take him back into the law fraternity was because of the good words of eminent lawyers, I am more impressed by Knight himself. He is every inch a repent man. He went about his life in his darkest hours, alone, far from the main stream of all the glamorous happenings. He could be a very rich man today if not of the lapses in his life.
He deserves to start life anew, albeit too late. He was out cold for too long for not too major offences that he committed. It is good that he is given a second chance.
I don't think it is that simple. As you know, I never believe in anything broadcast in PUBLIC as "compassionate" or "altruistic".
ReplyDeleteThere is no telling on what went on behind the scenes, what deals were cut...etc etc
Anyway, specialised skills are in demand today. No point in leaving a talent and highly skill professional out in the cold.
Let's face it, if the state doesn't cut him any slack, who else will? The state it seems, is his only hope.
...and that ain't a good thing, if you get my drift. ;)
knight will be a millionaire in a year's time. he deserves a break. poor bugger.
ReplyDeleteif he had played his cards right, he could be the law minister today.
Dun play play with an ACS boy :)
ReplyDeleteI think it is a good thing to see Mr knight back. Cant help rembering abt Deng xiao peng's own hardships and how formidable comeback kids like them can be.
ReplyDeleteHis referees must be good people indeed, to come forward so selflessly in support of his return. I believe he is a good man too.
of all those who have erred, knight came out as one that is most remorseful of his past and most sincere in wanting to start anew.
ReplyDeleteif you look at the nkf case, there was no sense of guilt or remorse. it was just a party.
Well said mr bean!
