the fortune and misfortune of thaksin
Here in the Paris temple, (King)Philip became aware, perhaps for the first time of the true wealth of the Knights Templar. It was here in the protecting arms of the order that he first manifested the idea of stealing their vast wealth for his political agenda.
As the Templars were free of all authority save for that of the Papal Throne, the only way Philip could lawfully seize Templar assets was to accuse them of magic and heresy, which he did through his right hand man, ….
On Friday the 13th of October 1307 (the real reason the day carries bad luck) all the Templars in France were arrested on a variety of charges and accusations. The trials of the Templars lasted from that date through until March 19th, 1314 when Jacques de Molay the last (known) Grand Master of the order was burned at the stake. ….
There is no doubt that the fortune and power amassed since their(Knight Templars) humble beginnings two centuries earlier, had made many monarchs and citizens jealous. It was this jealousy, combined with greed and a nearly bankrupt nation, that prompted Phillip to make his move on October 13th, 1307 - arresting all the Templars in France. Under the inquisitor's torture methods, all sorts of confessions were extracted. Clement using these confessions to his own ends was able to suppress the order of the Templars in 1312. What follows are the Papal Bulls that crushed the Knights Templar.
The above is copied from the site of the Knights Templar. The Knight Templars were wiped out by the collusion of King Philip and Pope Clement whose real aim was their wealth and growing popularity and power.
It seems that Thaksin's fortune could have done him in. His $3 billion fortune and business empire are now going to change hands. Who is going to benefit from his misfortune and his wealth?
What will happen to Temasek...
ReplyDeleteThis is millions and millions of people's monies...Singapore's monies.
Well... according to FACT$ and FIGURE$... we don't see rebellion coming... Hahahahaha...
Sigh...
Now Thai history will have a Singapore-induced coup... and Singapore will be labelled as totally doubtful on political competency.
Singapore writes history for Thailand...
Technocrats... domestic and foreign alike, they like to make "histories".
Sigh... ... ...
elfred,
ReplyDeletethis is risk taking ala IR.
but we really do not know the whole story. perhaps, perhaps, we should have more faith in the deal makers.
When Mr Lee announce quit from Singtel... I oredi expecting this to happen. Cos there must be something bad seriously happen for him to have such quick withdraw before next book keeping...
ReplyDeleteIt's gone case, Reddie. If those MFA or what people read our little exchanges here, and think properly, they might still had a chance...
The only way to "kill" Thaksin without a commotion is via public anger, and the Singapore-Shin deal just does that...
Why would the King goes to such length of a coup and keep Temesek's deal...? In fact, by collaborating with Thaksin, Singapore was on the opposite side of the King, believing Thaksin was in control against the King...
If I am not wrong... Singapore's lack of political appreciation would strain regional ties and stuck itself further...
Technocrats... Reddie, what did I said?
So it is a 1.9b prophecy? Hahahaha...
Singapore is also pending a huge crush with China... secretly tell you. Hahaha...
Today X billions gone, tomorrow Y billions... Aiyah... in the end, the SMART technocrats will still come after us for $$$ in fees and such... for their misfiring.
Must think of something... such as where to run...
why would they want to kill thaksin, i mean the thai people who benefitted from thaksin's generosity?
ReplyDeletethe people who are trying to kill him are people who have done hardly anything materially meaning to the people. if i were a thai farmer will want to have thaksin back.
the thais are like the chinese at the end of the 19th century. still believeing in a king and the country belongs to the king. once they got wise up and understand what is the meaning of the people owning the country, the king will have to run and hide.
investing big money is like the hedge fund boys playing with other people's money. when you win, you will be paid handsomely. when you lose, it is someone else money. you still get paid handsomely. for without your talent they could lose more.
Hehe... I am no fund manager and make those comments back then.
ReplyDeleteBut here... lets just say that if PM really thinks as you have... he's kinda waiting for disasters to come. Hahahahahaha...
Thaksin is a scam, he's a skunk... and those who wants him in power in Thailand are ignorant.
With power, he never sees the need for political wisdom. As Mahathir and Suharto, his disposal is justified.
Thaksin had his chance. But he's just insisting on being an idiot.
But then, almost all such leaders are very happy just before the day they got removed... believing all the reasons other than political ones that they should be in power.
Crazy Thaksin. Nice he's gone for good.
Politics... still trying to deny it, Reddie... Never mind.
thaksin is as crooked as any politicians. but the good thing about him is that he shared his 'loot' with the poor.
ReplyDeleteunlike many royalties who did not share anything with the people.
i see thaksin as a modern sun yat sen, taking thailand on the road towards a republic. that is the threat he posed to the monarchy and he had to be removed.
and thaksin is no fool. he did not succeed because time was not riped.
Hahahahaha...
ReplyDeleteThaksin is a fool. He'd never be Sun Yat Sun. He's a crooked greedy corrupted XO and you compare him to Sun... Reddie, are you ok?
He shared what?
What time are you waiting to be ripe? Hahahaha... You think with the King around, he'd ever "ripe"? No. He's just a greedy skunk blind with the goal of absolute power, bully those poorer and less powerful who can agree on his performance and suggest otherwise.
His refusal to embrace political wisdom allows the Military to take him out without a fight... cos he embraces Temesek. He should know Singapore can't be bothered about political well-beings. Just look at Singapore's political leaders...
Before he even entrenched himself, he's already a despot with the media plus the corrupted minds on greed and power... what are you expecting once he consolidate, if he ever had the chance to?
Don't be kidding... Reddie.
Thailand... Malaysia... Indonesia... Just you see, with this kinda political thinking, it won't be long before this PM finds himself stuck in a China animostiy and an Indian "unreasonbleness".
Aiyah... Thaksin has no interest in a what Republic. He's just after power to free his hands to bigger monies. And how can this XO stay?
is there any politician that is not after power and money?
ReplyDeletename me one.
