everyone is eagerly awaiting for some singapore shares to come their way before christmas. but for many their pockets are already burnt, a very big hole.
another round of steep hikes in secondary school fees is gonna hurt bad. cannot believe that secondary schools shall charge almost as much as a university education. or they are planning to pay their teachers as much as world class professors?
but must say that all these increases are probably well thought out, and definitely affordable.
In Singapore you have to be born to a rich family. I know some friends whose children are in ACS. The hike in fees is at ACS is not affecting their budget at all as they are rich. However, I can visualise what a worry it must be for parents who are not poor enough to qualify for Govt aid, but not rich enough to be able to afford the hike in the fees. I suggest the affected Singaporean better start cutting down on material acquisitions or holidays.

just wonder how long this will go on before it snaps.
I do not think the "snap" will ever come. The system is setup in such a way that it will be a long time before it breaks. There are many sweeteners in store or up the sleeve, to be release one at a time, at the appropriate moment, to make sure that the snap will never materialise.

ReplyDeleteLet us hope that changes must be for the better. Changes for changes sake is pointless. I am not too sure Iraq has gained anything with all the changes that have been forced upon them??
However, whatever changes that happen will be like a breath of fresh air, I am sure.
