Shangri La Dialogue - For who, against who?

It is not just widespread views that the dialogue is to give a platform to the USA to control the agenda. It is the agenda to allow the USA to create more fear and unease in the minds of those 'dull of mind' who attended, brainwashing them to buy into the fear of China. The Chinese know that attending it is of no value. It is just a 'sham' dialogue.

I could not help going over what Pete Hegseth, the drunkard, just said that allies of the USA must spend to take care of their own security. For once I do agree with his slip of the tongue-in-cheek honest revelation.

The Gulf countries had been spending their defense budget leveraging on the USA to defend them, from I do not know who, probably Israel, before the war against Iran, but all that spending has gone into a black hole without the benefits to show. So, I would also say that the Gulf countries must rightly take care of their own defense matters, rather than depend on the USA. Am I right after witnessing what happened over the last three months. I think the message that Pete Hegseth gave, in a moment of drunkard-ness, has opened a can of worms.

The Europeans are also thinking of setting up their own defense architecture instead of being held hostage by the USA, harping all the time to increase their defense spending. All that spending by Europe is just to promote and upkeep the interest of the USA in Europe. Russia is the only target and all the fearmongering fabricated by the USA in Europe is all centered on Russia, while in East Asia, the propaganda of fear is centered all on China. The Warsaw Pact countries have already been disbanded long ago, but NATO is still existing to carry on the USA war mongering show.

ASEAN must also wake up, look around, and find out whether the threat comes from China or the USA.

Out of 193 countries around the world, I would have expected more than 47 countries to attend the Shamgrila Die-lock. I think, just like China, they have already seen the woods for the trees. That tells me it is a dying platform of no consequence to them.

  1. At the end of the dialogue, what has been achieved? It is all taxpayer's money down the drain. The came, they enjoyed the pandering and feeding, talk cock and sing song, shit after consuming the food, go to sleep and everything is forgotten the next day. All that talk about security issues never made the world more secure and safer. It is all gibberish and useless posturing.

  2. I wonder how much money is spent to hold that dialogue. I know we spent twenty million to host Trump and Kim meeting. Did that achieve anything constructive?

  4. A host country with a diverse Heritage of 13% Malays, 9% Indians and 75% Mongrels, it is the perfect location for all Westoids to mingle yearly and get a pet by their Masters and align their target.

    1. Sorry didnt mean to belittle the major race, but because i heard that Sim Ann lady who spoke in Mandarin and said "我们不是华人,我们是新加坡人...我们也不是华侨" So I conclude it is a Mongrel Race!

    2. Are you also a Mongrel yourself by the way?

    3. It takes a mongrel to know a mongrel. So, I conclude you are a mongrel too.

    4. I am Chinese and proud to be, "mongrel" is the term which was insinuated by that Sim Lady since she seems to preached that with "we are NOT even overseas Chinese"! Notice there are no issues with Malays and Indians here!

    5. Original words by Minister Sim Ann :

Using Singaporeans of Chinese ethnic descent as an example, she said in Mandarin: “We are both Singaporeans and Singaporean Chinese (huaren), but not overseas Chinese (huaqiao).” --https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/politics/understand-s-pore-s-core-interests-when-engaging-foreign-organisations-sim-ann

      Quote again :
"We are both Singaporeans and Singaporean Chinese (huaren), but not overseas Chinese (huaqiao).” -- in Chinese translation: “我们同时是新加坡人也是新加坡华人,但不是华桥.”

    6. 'We' does not necessarily mean to refer to all 75% Chinese. It is just referring to herself and her cohort, who are mostly educated in the West. Do not conclude that all Chinese Singaporeans are therefore 'mongrels'. It is a misguided conclusion.

Moreover, why need to say that this term didn't mean to belittle the major races when it is clearly intended to do so, and in bad taste and mean to insult all Singaporean Chinese?

  7. Let's not over react by what Sim Ann said. It is just different ways of describing Chinese, huaren means ethnic Chinese, huaqiao means overseas Chinese. I think there is another term for returning Chinese to China. As long as a Chinese accepts that he/she is a Chinese or huaren, 'yan huang zi sun',
    炎黄子孙, that is good enough.
Don't become like some Taiwanese that don't even want to accept that they are huaren, wanting to be Japanese or a new tribe that has no ancestor, speak Chinese, write Chinese, look like Chinese, steep in Chinese culture and mythologies but say they are not Chinese.

    1. The over-reacting is regarding the using the word 'mongrel' by someone, not the comment by Sim Ann. I do not think this guy who used the term 'mongrel' is a Chinese, more like a stray dog himself.

  8. When Hsien Loong said that Singapore's good relations with China is not because we are Singaporean Chinese but because we share similar interests, this was interpreted differently by different groups, some hostile, some more understanding.

Hsien Loong was trying to explain Singapore's delicate position that though Singapore is a Chinese majority city state, this is not the main reason why our relations with China is good. He did not want our neighbours to think that we are close to China because we are Chinese.

    1. Living and surrounded by two big Muslim States, Singapore has no alternative but to play geopolitics in the best way possible and not to antagonize neighbors by being close to China. It is not in Singapore's interest to go to extreme. The experience dealing with Mahathir was already telling.

  9. Sori just without offence to Singaporean Chinese -- some of them r not pure naturalized Singaporean Chinese, some crossed bleed with Pinoy or.. Indian, Myanmar, Vietnam, Eurasians, Russians, Indonesians, Malaysians etc... but they might be called Singaporean Chinese ( because one of them might be paternal or maternal foreigners origin) as well. So it's a complex issue, but definitely better than some of the Taiwanese Chinese whom wanto discard their Chinese identity might be due to their forefathers ancestry r Japs (sori no offence to the Taiwanese Chinese).

    1. Cross breeding is also prevalent among Indians and Malays marrying other races. It is not unique among the Chinese alone.

    2. Well u r right...but he/she doesn't mention it's unique in SG Chinese to cross breed others also done it, he/she just highlighted that nowadays SG Chinese ( or SG Malays / SG Indians / Others) r not so straightforward as it seems compared to older generations ( sorry no offence to all ethnic groups).

    3. Still, shouldn't have use the word 'mongrel'. It is a derogatory remark, an insult, at least to me even if some do not mind. Say that to the Muslims and all hell will break lose. You get the picture?
