23 min explaining how much progress Malaysia has advanced into the semiconductor industries, becoming a big player in the world. Not only Chinese semicon companies are setting up factories in Malaysia, big American names like Nvidia and Intel are also in Malaysia. This is the big leap that Malaysia is taking to move out from teh tarik and nasi lemak kampong business.
The alliance between UMNO and PAS will be a threat to Anwar's high tech initiatives. They may bring Malaysia back to the future, to rely more on teh tarik and nasi lemak business and even undermine the semicon industries. Kampong mentality politicians have little knowledge what semicon industries will do to Malaysia's plan to move up the ladder into the advanced industrialised world.
Will the Malaysians support Anwar's strategies in high tech industries or choose to go along with UMNO and PAS and be happy with selling teh tarik and nasi lemak?
My bet is they will go along with UMNO and PAS if they continue to play up the Bumiputra policy. Let me call it hyping up Muslim Fanaticism, just like in India.
ReplyDeleteWhen you give crutches to people, they will never want to give up those crutches. They will not be able to stand up properly. Do not laugh, as Red Dot is not far behind with CDC Fanaticism almost an ideology difficult to wean away from.
By the way, Singapore's GDP growth of 4.6% or so is largely centered on construction and retail. Hardly surprising, looking at all the digging everywhere, just like war zones left and right. CDC spending is of course one reason for the retail euphoria.
Anwar is walking a tightrope, but he has no choice partnering UMNO. He cannot crack down too harshly on some elements in UMNO, all the same DNA as Najib and you know who.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I look at the kampong politicians and the level of their intellect, if there is any, their mentality, I can only shake my head. They seek political power not to uplift the lives of the bumis, not for progress of their country, but for you know what. The political power they are seeking is for self aggrandizement, $1 for the rakyat, $1m for themselves. And the rakyat falls for it.
ReplyDeleteA progressive leader like Anwar that is trying to move Malaysia up to become a developed nation state through science and technology, is now facing threats from empty heads kampong politicians.
When the kampong politicians take over, Malaysia will be plunged back to the 1960s and 70s. Foreign investors would flee Malaysia.
