Tariff collections are crashing too as countries just ignored his extortion letter, even having the audacity to thank them hypocritically for what Trump is doing to them. This is adding insult to injury. How many countries realistically have gone to Washington to kiss his arsehole? Just a handful of sycophants and cronies hoping to get the crumbs and getting insulted.
Yesterday, it was reported that consumer spending was 'robust', yet today the report says unemployment rate has risen to 4.6%. Knowing that most USA citizens have been reported to not have just US$400 in their savings to meet emergency needs, how realistic is the report than they are still spending 'robustly'. I suspect all the figures reported and statistics trotted out are all massaged to give a rosy picture.
Trump is one kind of person who will remove any personnel in his administration that tells the truth about unemployment and jobs and putting another that can lie, cheat and steal. I just do not know what is going to happen with the one replacing Jerone Powell. As Richard Wolff said - 'I was scared earlier, but now I am terrified'

Trump will soon get rid of job reporting bodies and unemployment statistic gathering, so that no one will know what is happening. However, Trump will also get the same satisfaction by just removing those that tell the truth and putting in people who will lie for him. That is his 'Art of the Deal' which he is boasting about.
ReplyDeleteJust look at the people that were lying about the whole world rushing to kiss Trump's arsehole when he first trotted out his tariffs. That lunatic and psychotic Commerce Secretary had been spinning lies, in an echo-chamber, about the boast by Trump that 200 countries were lining up to kiss his boss' arsehole. Did that happen? Not by a long shot.
Then we have that supposedly great successful former hedge fund operator, who lost almost all his US$5 billion hedge fund startup money, Scott Bessent, lying about how China will be forced to go to Washington to kiss Trump's arsehole just because China sells more to the USA instead of the other way round.
Now, let us replay the tape and find out who is asking to kiss whose arsehole when Xi does not even relish meeting Trump and only met him on the sidelines of the G20 in Busan, nothing even intentional by Xi to see his face. Was there even an attempt to kiss Trump's arsehole? Was there even a fictitious deal conjured up by Trump? Nothing, just speculation and showboating.
The USA is not called the 'Empire of Lies' for nothing. USA leaders do not understand the meaning of fantasy versus reality. They only live in a fantasy world, thinking that other countries must obey its demands to do what it wants them to do. Big guns do not make countries bend over backwards today, after they saw how the USA met failures in Vietnam and Afghanistan. Big guns no longer dictate to the Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah, entities which are not even representing countries but just representing ideologies. Even those ideologies are a handful for the USA to deal with and are no pushover using top end fighter jets and bombs.
When one is used to living with lies, it does not matter how many lies is trending. Just keep repeating it, hoping it will become the truth eventually.
