Already the Houthis are a handful, and they have a wild card in their arsenal - the control of the Bab al-Mandab Straits, the entrance to the Red Sea and a passport for every ship transiting the Suez Canal. It is ironic that the Suez Canal was supposed to be used as a choke point controlled by the USA, but totally ineffective without the other end also under its control. The Houthis have been known to attack any enemy ship, even aircraft carriers passing by, so imagine what they can do in the event of a total war in the Middle East.
Taking out the Houthis needs boots on the ground, which the USA is afraid of doing. The USA military is now wary of fighting another guerilla war, having tasted guerilla warfare in Vietnam and Afghanistan and losing its pants.
So, not so fast for the USA and Israel trying to control the Middle East. Now, we have seen what Iran can do and what Israel should not have done to attack Iran's nuclear sites. Israel is having a taste of Gaza in its own front yard from the Iranians. Nothing more needs to be proven.

Iran should now be extremely wary about the truce with Israel coming into force and mapped out by prolific liar Trump. What is the truce about between Israel and Iran when Trump is now already boasting about striking Iran at any moment. Trump is famous for touting about making agreements that he can just insert conditions into those agreements at his whims and fancies.
ReplyDeleteLet us visit the so- called 'agreement' in Switzerland over those tariffs against China. There was apparently no agreement to speak of, just a framework for further negotiation being put in place and Trump had already used that framework to accuse China of breaking 'an agreement'. What did China do to break the agreement has never been revealed, just something Trump woke up from a nightmare at 3 am and gloated about it. It was the same in London, a framework for further negotiation, which had been interpreted as China going to release its rare earth elements in abundance for the USA.
Trump is now saying the USA will again attack Iran if it continues with its enrichment program. All intelligence gathering has been taken care of by the Iranians, including refusing the IAEA to do the spying for the USA. Where is Iran now doing its enrichment program is just going to be guesswork, with Israeli spies now being rooted out. Iran is draining the swamp, so to speak.
The blessing in disguise for Iran is that the USA and Israel are scrapping the bottom of the barrel to make more weapons to target Iran, all thanks to China's enhanced clamp down on export of rare earth elements. Trump is boasting about supplying more Patriot Missiles to Ukraine, a war he boasted about ending within 24 hours. How laughable that he is now having to supply weapons to both Ukraine and Israel. Let him live out his delusion that the USA can supply enough weapons to take on two wars at the same time.
In parting, Trump is gloating that he has opened up China and that China is going to supply the USA with abundant rare earths elements, more than what China is prepared to give, in his warped mind.
China had already opened up to USA investments decades ago and Trump is trying to gain false credit and unethical political mileage by taking away the part played by Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger, by boasting about opening up China. In fact, it is the USA, now under Trump, that is restricting USA investments into China as well as keeping out Chinese investments from the USA. Trump is closing the USA to China, not about China doing the other way round.
Trump wants to bomb Iran's already destroyed nuclear sites again. Yes Donald, keep on bombing what the Israelis have already bombed, and the USA already bombed. Just bombed them into as flat as a pancake. Increasing the USA military budget is not a problem. Now about a trillion US$. Make it US$2 trillion.
ReplyDeleteIran's defense minister Aziz Nasir Zadeh is now in China attending the Shanghai Co-operation Organization (SCO) and is probably also looking at Chinese weapons to beef up Iran's military. China can supply Iran with fighter jets like the J10C, missiles like the PL15 and other weapons for air defense plus all the rare earth elements needed by Iran to make its own weapons like drones. In fact, China can supply these weapons at a moment's notice, no need to wait for months or years by Iran.
ReplyDeleteIran must look at the truce as a ploy by the USA to help Israel regroup and rearm for another clash. This is inevitable, taking into consideration Trump's behavior at the moment. A truce is a strategy often used by the West to regroup and rearm when they are losing. That truce was to help Israel more than helping Iran to survive. They tried that in Ukraine, calling for a truce with Russia. Putin is too smart for that. John Mearsheimer calls Putin and Xi master strategists.
Iran was on the upper hand during the 12-day war, with Chinese help in hypersonic missile technology, satellite navigation intelligence giving Iran the capability to target important Israeli infrastructures with pinpoint accuracy. With no truce called, Tel Aviv would have been destroyed just like Gaza.
Iran's strategy right now must be to buy those Chinese weapons immediately and not using the time to wait for another pre-emptive attack by Israel. It is going to come sooner than later.
Having said that, this will be a good time for China's military to battle tests its weapons to prove that what the Pakistani military did with Chinese weapons was no fluke.
China can do a barter with Iran. Chinese weapons for Iranian oil. A win-win situation.
DeleteThat US$400 billion barter done years ago was for Iranian oil for Chinese technology, investment and development. This war probably already shows the advantage reaped by Iran leveraging on Chinese military assistance in hypersonic missile technology.
DeleteOh, by the way, Iran is now using Chinese BeiDou Satellite Navigation system for its military and has dumped GPS, which could be switched off by the USA. USA now has no control over BeiDou. I believe many other countries are migrating from GPS to BeiDou. It is claimed to be more accurate than GPS.
