'Earlier on Tuesday, Loke told
the Malaysian parliament that his country intends to reclaim its
airspace over southern Johor from Singapore....
Asked if he was concerned that
the airspace and maritime issues might escalate, Khaw said, “I certainly
hope not. As I said, it’s certainly not conducive to bilateral
relations. We have so many things that we want to work together. The
potential for doing much more is huge.
“We hope that good sense will prevail…let’s sit down and
let’s understand each other…find some common solution, common space
which can be a win-win.”' Yahoo News
Less than a month after Mahathir was honoured profusely by Singapore and even awarded a doctorate for fostering good relations between the two states, Malaysia and Singapore is staring at each other over cross border intrusions by Malaysian govt boats and reclaiming airspace delegated to Singapore air traffic control. The buttering of Mahathir did not seem to help in improving relations between the two states that was supposed to be damn bloody good with Mahathir in charge. If not they would be no need to give him the honorary doctorate. Perhaps Mahathir did not know what is happening and like Khaw said, someone from Singapore side must talk to Mahathir and hopefully Mahathir would tell his officials to stop messing up the good relations between the two states. If this does not happen then it is right to withdraw the honorary doctorate from him.
When Najib was in charge, relations was good but not damn bloody good. Otherwise we would have given Najib the same honorary doctorate for good relations. Come to think of it, Najib deserves a higher award for building a fantastic relationship between the two states. I am quite puzzled why relationship has taken a turn for the worse. Maybe we did not angkat Mahathir enough. How about inviting Mahathir for a durian party at the Istana and then give him Singapore's highest award, some pingkat tak boleh tahan (PTBT) for Mahathir to wear home? President Halimah could to the honour to hang the medal on Mahathir. Relations between the two states would surely improve and the current row could be quickly forgotten if Mahathir say so.
Is this a "enemies-at-the-gate" ploy to garner support for politicians, new leaders ??
ReplyDeleteAll these BS you scratch my back and I scratched yours Boymen Tactics.
ReplyDeleteWhy all the past so many elections both the PAP and BN or Alliance won the majority seats.
When Elections of both sides draw near, there will some issues being bring up striking fears in the Sinkies that National Security is at stake.Only the Incumbent Government can protect you.
So do not vote for Opposition as they will be in disaray.
Sinkies are easily intimiated since LKY's times as been drumed by him.
As for the Mats, it stirred Malay Chiviauism and Superiorty Complex and Natationism.
Unis got degrees for Good Realtions, Mirage Billionaire Dollars Diamond Table Insurance Agents and also Millionaire Hair Dressers meh?
What's a farce and No Value to the Rest of other Disclipines of Degrees.
Spore and Malaysia relationship has taken a sudden turn for the worse. A spat over intrusions of Malaysian vessels and use of ILS at Seletar Airport are at the centre of the quarrel. KBW has accused Malaysia of violating the sovereignty of Spore and breaking international laws. Spore has deployed warships. A Russian-ukraine bustup version between the 2 countries may occur should Spore arrest or confiscate Malaysian vessels. Malaysia may also resort to shooting down Spore planes violating its airspace. Unless cool minds prevail, a hot war may break out.
ReplyDelete@ any publicity is good publicity for public figures:
ReplyDeleteThis is a "nothing burger" lah. Occasionally members of parliament (in every cuntry) need to draw attention to themselves to boost their "social status" so they say really controversial things...because parliament is one place where any member can just "let go tok cock" and be certain their words will get media coverage.
Malaysia's political machine are still damn sore that after Singapore was SACKED from The Federation, we have overtaken Malaysia in every field of human development, and they are still considered a developing cuntry.
However I don't define relationships purely on the basis of the politicians in respective cuntries having a go at one another. Singaporeans and Malaysians (just the regular folks) enjoy each other's cuntries in the tens of thousands EVERY DAY, despite the cuntiness of our respective politicians.
Malaysians take the piss out of their political elites, as we do ours. Even the Chinese take the mickey out of Xi by posting memes of him and Winnie The Pooh; to the point where if you are caught doing such "insulting things", The Chinese authority will be paying you a visit. In the USA, Trump is ridiculed on minute to minute basis by Americans themselves.
In the words of HL Mencken:
Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under.
Shiok!! I hope things will get a lot worse and some Sinkies & Mats end up killing each other. Will be a very good time to buy some stocks!! Never let a crisis go to waste.

Dr M came a visiting. His mission was to negotiate for an increase in water price and to waive compensation for scraping the HSR. Mission not accomplished and Dr M started beating war drums when he returned home empty-handed. The scene is set for an acrimonious future. Malaysia is holding the trump card. It has the right to withhold the sale of water to its enemy. The PAP 4G leaders will be going through a baptism of fire. It is an acid test that may make or break HSK-CCS as successors to PM Lee.
ReplyDeleteI think Mahathir knows the PTBT or Pingat Tak Boleh Tahan is a useless Christmas decoration to smooth his peacock feathers. Like Aung San Suu Kyi, they give her an award and now took it back because of the Rohingya issue.
ReplyDeleteLike someone said, whenever an election is coming, the other side will always be asked to stir the barrel of shit to provide a bogeyman to strike fear among the voters. I wonder whether they have this brotherly close door arrangement to help each other. Just like the banks, oil companies, insurance bodies, goldsmiths, coffeeshop owners, etc, they all move in tandem with the tempo of the music. Outside the door, they are competitors, but behind closed doors they are brothers in arms.
As long as PAS and UMNO exists in Malaysia, even some Chinese will try to play hero and try to 'angkat ketuaan' to gain favour among the majority Malays. The Chinese must understand that Malays in Malaysia will never allow a Chinese to rise and become the top dog. The most and furthest they can go is to be the 'temple gate pusher' or political 'henchmen' whenever sensitive issues need to be addressed. And risked becoming the punching bag for PAS and UMNO, not to talk about the majority Malay population that has been fed the feel so good 'ketuaan melayu' ideology for the last sixty years.
MCA was bullied by the ultras in UMNO until it became a non entity. It finally got dumped by the Malaysian Chinese as a useless party, unable to defend the rights of the Chinese. Everytime they made their war cry to kill Chinese by using the term 'runnng amok' MCA just kept quiet, cannot do anything. Running amok is their code for killing non bumis. Another phrase is to do a 'May 13'
ReplyDeleteMahathir also lan lan. Only the 'very nice nature and peaceful creatures' called bumiputras can call for the killings of non Malays and get away with it like saying something so innocent. No one is arrested for such calls.
Just imagine what would happen if the 'not very nice nature and not peaceful' non bumis were to say such things.
Rb, u think the old fox does not know what the transport guy is doing? He just stay in the background in case it gets to a stage when he can come out and said he was not briefed to diffuse the situation.
ReplyDelete'Just imagine what would happen if the 'not so nice nature and not peaceful' non bumis were to say such things' unquote.
ReplyDeleteThe peaceful creatures will run amok lor! Running amok is their favourite stunt besides sodomy. One of the leaders even drew his keris in Parliament and howl for 'blood if the keris is drawn' to demonstate the point. What else can the peaceful creatures not do? It is their rallying war cry to remain in power.
I think most Singaporeans know and have seen this wayang many many times already.
ReplyDeleteThe usual plot in relationship between them is: down, humid, then cold war, then hot and sweaty confrontation, then cool, then up, then good, then so good they go to bed together. The cycle keeps repeating itself. It is like an old broken video record played over and over.
Hi Anon 11:49,
ReplyDeleteTo understand what I wrote you need to know two things, one, who is Mahathir and his intent, and two, to read between the lines.
This whole wayang is happening and I am quite sure with 100% consent from Mahathir. The devil started this. He is not going to let Singapore live in peace. He is not going to be bribed by a few pingkats or doctorates.
The only hope for Singapore is to wait for him to disappear from the scene and another Najib to come along.
Just to add, Mahathir has many unfinished businesses with Singapore and he is going to skin Singapore if he has the time to do it. He is in a hurry to get it done while he is still kicking.
ReplyDeleteThe only way to deal with Mahathir is the LKY way. Throw the book at him, if necessary go to court. The moment one appears weak and allowed him to use his mama ways he will eat you for breakfast.
ReplyDeleteThe LKY way will force him to twist and turn to try to undo it, just like the crooked bridge. He would not take no for an answer. He would want his way, to do it his way, right or wrong, legal or illegal.
Malaysia is pushing S'pore into a corner. It requires more than astute statesmanship to come up with a win-win solution. The present imbroglio over sea and air issues will test the limits of diplomacy. Dr M is spoiling for a fight and the PAP leaders will have their hands full dealing with him. Malaysia demands that S'pore concedes. That's a Tall Order from Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteWhen both Leaders of either sides created some disagreements, it's usually the Singaporeans on our side who had no quarrels with them
ReplyDeletesuffered the most.
The Malaysian Chinese though indifferent to us are quite neutral in behaviours but been immersed more with the Bumis will lean more to their side.
It's their Silly Evil Serpents Bumis who helped most of the Evil Service that will give HELL to us ordinary Sinkies.
When their Ruling Bumis Leaders are in contention with us, even their Top Evil Serpents Leaders gave sort of signals to their subordinates that they supported their deeds.
Then Singaporeans travelling thru them are been purposely unfairly treated with discrimination.
The CS of their Customs & Immigration and Police were with their biased support of their Top Managment gave much inconvencies to us when we go there.
They will give us unwelcome signals that they are unhappy with us.
So braised yourselves for these unnecessarily inconvencies when you wish to go there for your simone getaways.
Yesterday at JB Causweway already took two hours for buses passengers just to clear their ICA.
Standing and queuing for two solid hours. Expect more to come with MAT in command.

The economy of Johore will suffer the most.
ReplyDeleteThe Sultan of Johor is Ok with us Sinkies. He wanted to build Johor the blueprint of Singapore but it is the Federal Government who is overriding him.
ReplyDeletePreviously under Najib's tenure He insisted Full Immigration Counters opened for all passengers at Tuas Checkpoint and even wanted to rebuild their CIQ for passengers comfort against rain downpours.
Compared to KLIA in KL where they gave you HELL with their ICA.
But now even JB ICA also start the HELL service.
Slow made to rule work and tearing of Sinkies passports.
'They gave us unwelcome signals that they are unhappy with us' said Virgo 1.57
ReplyDeleteAnd yet some Sinkies go up North frequently. Many Malaysians, especially Chinese, work in Singapore, earning good salaries, compared to Malaysians working at home. Their customs personnel are one example, so that is probably their grudge and also envy. Of course business and shops have a different take on Singaporeans crossing over, and I think they like to have more of them crossing over for shopping and food.
There are also family connections between the two countries with relatives living on both sides of the divide, so unhappy or not, we have to live with it. The spat will probably not spill over into more serious confrontations, or both sides will suffer.
Many Malaysian working ordinary jobs earning around 4000 which is m$12000 a month. They can live like a king in Malaysia though in Singapore they will be struggling. So it's very attractive to many Malaysians.😀
ReplyDeleteThis time will be a lot tougher:
ReplyDelete1. Old Man not around.
2. Najeep not in charge.
3. Real test of the untested.
After M, is AnnWar; may even be more difficult. Old wify fox plus battle hardened AnnWar. Chailuck.
In the end sillyzens will suffer.
ReplyDeleteDr M has joined in the fray and ratchet up the dispute. He claimed that Malaysia is well within its rights to extend the Johor Baru port as it has not trespassed onto Singapore’s territorial waters off Tuas and verification of the distance from the border can be determined. The ball is now in Singapore court. Expect lawyers from both countries to work overtime to iron things out. A lull before a storm.
ReplyDeleteSingapore spends so much of its budget on defense instead of healthcare.
ReplyDeleteIt's time to use our expensive weapons !
SHAH ALAM, Dec 5 — Malaysia is well within its rights to extend the Johor Baru port as it has not trespassed onto Singapore’s territorial waters off Tuas, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today.
ReplyDeleteHe said the distance from the border can be measured to determine the claims made by the Singaporean government.
“We can measure to see if it is true or not but we had not touched their border.
Above is from Yahoo News. Can both be wrong or both be right? Or one is right and one is wrong? If the latter, someone is not telling the truth or did not know what he is talking about.

This bogeyman thingie has been around since the days of L*Y vs D*M when both were PMs, to divert attention or to unite their peoples.
ReplyDeleteBut now, beside being vindictive for not getting what he wants on the water issue, he is showing his younger ministers, "watch me now, learn from it, you will need it when the time comes..."

ReplyDeletePak Lah,Tun Mahathir and Najib got arrested for a severe offense in Malaysia, so for the terrible crime they are all sentenced 20 lashes each of the whip. As they were preparing for their punishment, the Judge announced "It's s my wife's birthday today, and she has asked me to allow each of you one wish before your whipping.
Pak Lah was first in line, he thought for a while and then said: Please tie a pillow to my back..This was done, but the pillow only lasted 10 lashes & Pak Lah had to be carried away bleeding and crying with pain.
Najib was next up. After watching Pak Lah in horror he said smugly: Please fix two pillows to my back. But even two pillows could only take 15 lashes & Najib was also led away whimpering loudly.
Tun M was the last one up, but before he could say anything, the Judge turned to him and said: You are the most intelligent and smartest man. For this, you may have two wishes! Thank you, your My Lord and Merciful Judge,
Tun M replied. In recognition of your kindness, my first wish is that you give me not 20, but 100 lashes. Not only are you an Honorable, handsome and powerful man, you are also very brave. The Judge said to Tun M with an admiring look on his face. If 100 lashes is what you desire, then so be it.
And what is your second wish? The Judge asked
Tun M smiled and said : "Tie Najib to my back"
Cheers
