TOC Editorial: Government’s lack of accountability bad for the PAP, worse for Singapore
Posted by theonlinecitizen on April 23, 2008
The above TOC article is something that the msm cannot match. It has so much bite and so much common sense. If cyberspace is going to keep churning out articles like that, who would still bother to read the msm?
The S'pore Govt needs a good tight bitch slap. Individual heads need to roll--but that's another matter.
ReplyDeleteThe govt won't be changing anytime soon until the people change. Neither are heads going to roll. That's simply the nature of the relationship between singaporeans and their government.
But, that aside, the govt deserves all the scorn, ridicule, mockery and demands for action from the public-- the people to whom the govt is accountable.
And it is good to bear in mind the truism: The People Get The Government They Deserve, which means that the govt is only as good as the people who choose them.
Hey, don't put words into our mouths.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't elect them, they walked over.
The People Get The Government They Deserve. There are no exceptions to this phenomenon.
ReplyDeleteI am afraid you are wrong. The PAP get VOTED in all the time. The term 'walkover" means "winning by default". If they aren't resisted, they win by default.
It is the job of the people to keep bad governments OUT. Obviously, the majority of S'poreans still support the PAP, and who can blame them? The PAP will upgrade their HDB if the PAP gets voted in.
winning by default is a great strategy. it is adapted from sun tsu's military strategy, win without having to fight.
