Driverless cars - The fools will never learn

Why did I say this kind of things? What do you think is the problem with SMRT collision? Ok, what was the basic principle underlying decision making by the first generation of leaders? Before they purchase a system, an equipment, a plane, a ship or a train system, they asked a very basic question. How long has the system or equipment been in operation? Has it been proven to work, free from faults and bugs? If it is new, untested, why should we buy and pay to be the guinea pig?

This driverless car thing is a new thing, a new technology. In the Jurong Test Centre we are just setting an area for testing and earn some money from it. This is a business. It would be a different story if we are volunteering to be the guinea pig to test run driverless cars on our road while knowing that it is an untested technology and many things can go wrong? This would happen if we volunteer to be the first country to experiment on driverless cars. This is a first that we should not be clamouring for. This is not something to ‘pray pray’ about. This technology can kill, innocent lives are involved. There are harmless things that we want to be first for bragging rights. This untested driverless technology is not really in operation and going to present a lot of problems, troubles and accidents waiting to happen?

Are we the owner of this technology, the software or the hardware developer? Do we own the copyright? Who is the owner of this concept/equipment and how are we going to benefit from it if it is tested successfully? If we are not of the above, do we want to put our people’s lives as the price for testing other people’s product?

If we are the developer and owner of the software it is all well and good but still must approach this cautiously. We even erected another barrier in MRT stations costing millions to prevent people from jumping on the tracks. Test running driverless cars are definitely more risky than people voluntarily jumping on the tracks. If we are just a user, we should not be putting our people and reputation at risk. If we are part owner of this concept and system, and we are going to gain and benefit from it financially, that could be a different proposition. If we are just a teeny weeny minority shareholder, or not at all, we need to weigh the benefits and returns versus the cost of such an experiment when it is going to be conducted on our roads. During the experimental stage many things can go wrong and lives could be lost. Is it worth it?

What is in it for us?

Just hope that we are not being made a sucker to test other people’s product and system and if things go awry, our people got killed or injured.

Get my point? Remember the investment in an untested American aircraft called F35 that turned out to be an American scam and making the investing countries into suckers, pouring money into a bottomless pit? Still believing that the Americans would share their cutting edge technologies with outsiders?

I have no confidence in driverless cars. Of course I do see these being tested overseas but most of the time at highways. Singapore is such a cramp place with traffic lights every few hundred feet. With jay walkers and zombies looking at their cell phones all the time, accidents bound to happen.

Driverless cars system if uses china software, better go for it fast. If uses US or usa software, better stop now.
US scanning systems bought china software in public place. Now they worry china might hack into that system. But sinkieland driverless cars is not security sensitive. It will work. Shanghai port now has a newly openned manless system. From taking cargo to transporting by manless trucks, all manless. Shenzheng is using driverless buses with driver sitting inside for emergency helping passengers only.

In robots technology, china software works and not usa or US. little usa uses pinoys and indians to write software here. Better give up and throw into dustbin instantly. Bt if bought from china test system, there is live testing in china every where in future. In other words, the system will be perfect to use in civil activities.

Driverless cars are safe because: 1. no driver who drive with overloaded beer inside body. 2. no driver given with license but was a foreigner who can be a risk to local woman looking good. 3. The exact location of driverless car is tracked by gps and can be zoomed into the exact environment for recuse by police.

Driverless car will reduce PM2.5 that causes lung and other parts cancer. This is a very important improvement on living people. It is not a pap achievement if it miss the chance. WP and other opposition parties should go faster if taking over the pap power to implement driverless cars driverless buses, and driverless port to make sinkieland a pure oxygen country in this world.

However in view of pap s cronies overwhelm the industries as contractors. The concerns of driverless cars lose control is real. These contractors similar to those foreigners agents will get the tenders with high chances. They will hire cheapest foreigners from sunny lands to modify software, repair the parts or never do but on records did to mess up the entire system similar to mrt. Watch who will be appointed as ceo for driverless vehicles system: will be another paper general comes with answers deep seated culture sinkies when a driverless car stops but suddenly speed up and "in contact" with a fuel run car and smash into a metal rubber.

The technology is good. But the contractor who runs it is no guarantee technology competent. The ceo running it will be foreign talent the elites think ultra competent. It will end as a mess if runs under the current elites watch. Agree it is dangerous to touch driverless when the ones running it are brainless and illogical. Vote for WP in 2020 will help to control the new technology better.

Trains run on a fixed track going in one direction.
So driver-less train technology is a lot simpler than driver-less car technology.

Did we recently have an accident (or was it "contact") between two MRT trains?
- do you think driver-less cars are safer?

Do you think the technology for a driver-less car is more demanding in Singapore than in USA?

What is the population density of Singapore now ... before Ah Loong's 6.9 million is even achieved? .... ANSWER: 7,987 people per square kilometer

What is the population of USA?

It is safer, better and cheaper for Singapore to have a Driverless Government than to have a driverless transportation system. The problems of the MRT System already cannot solve after more than ten years. This state of affairs is probably due to too many Millionaire "Drivers" putting their hands into it but refusing to take ownership of their responsibilities. It is as good as having no responsible "Drivers".

Therefore, it will be better, cheaper and safer, and less problematic, to have a Driverless Government. Do you agree?

Three groups of people will be very happy if the Driverless Car System is implemented:

The fisrt group comprises those makers of driverless cars and the con men who supported them.

The second group will be the terrorists, who need not make use of suicide-bombers any more. They can remotely the vehicles to cause havoc and death anywhere, anytime and any how they like.

The third group will be those who want to commit suicide. They will have a new easy way of killing themselves and make their dependents richer by claiming insurance - on the basis of "death caused by accident" instead of "death by suicide".

Reported Accidents:

Tesla:

When the magic wears off Joshua Brown, 40, was killed driving a Tesla Model S on June 30, 2016 when the self-driving car rammed into a 18-wheel truck in Florida.

The car, which used a computer vision-based vehicle detection, crashed into the truck trying to drive full speed under the trailer.

Brown was reportedly watching a Harry Potter movie at the time of the collision.

Reported Accidents 2:

Google Lexus:

On February 14, 2016 an autonomously driven Google Lexus pulled to the right preparing for a turn and collided with the side of a bus in Mountain View, California.

The crash tore off the car’s radar and flattened its tyre.

While the Google employee sitting inside the car emerged unharmed, the vehicle had to be towed away by the police.

Google has admitted that its self-driving cars had been involved in 11 "minor" traffic accidents since it began experimenting with the technology.

What about major accidents which were probably not reported in order to avoid bad publicity? Who is to know?

Reported Serious Traffic Offence:

Uber Computer-Controlled Car:

In December 2016, Uber's computer-controlled car was caught on video running a red light, four seconds after the light turned red.

Uber said that the violation was a human error since a person was required to sit behind the wheel.

The company suspended the driver after California regulators ordered a rollback of Uber’s self-driving cars citing pedestrian safety as paramount.

First and foremost, the leaders must be the first to use it. Do you think they will do so?

Why are the leaders of red dot so fearful of not keeping up with technology that they must make red dot a smart city to stay on top after learning that China is moving ahead?

Driverless trains are different, because it follows a fixed route and the tracks are always cleared of people and other obstacles, unless some people wants to commit suicide.

When the canal up north and the new trade routes up there are operational, red dot will really be driverless if the leaders cannot come up with new ideas to compete.

By then, if they cannot find their way around, any amount of amart technology or becoming a smart city will not bring any competitive advantage.

Reported Accidents 3:

Volvo:

Last May, while trying to demonstrate Volvo's pedestrian detection and auto-braking feature, the car automatically accelerated towards a group of people knocking them off their feet.

Volvo's management side-step the seriousness of the accident by blaming the owner of the driverless car.

Volvo's management said that accident occurred because of the owner’s neglect to pay for the pedestrian detection functionality that costs extra money.

Does that mean pedestrians will have to pay with their lives, if owner refused to install the pedestrian-detection device which costs extra money? Should this safety important measure be optional?

AeroMobil:

Slovakian startup AeroMobil created a 'flying car', which operates both as a sports car and an airplane.

On May 11, 2015, the self-flying car crashed during its test flight with the investor onboard.

Stefan Klein, co-founder and pilot, sustained minor injuries.

Since then AeroMobil has conducted several successful test flights and the company plans to take pre-orders for the car from 2017.

If the accident had caused the death of the investor, this money-making at expense-of-others' lives would probably be cancelled?

Reported Accidents 5 (Last but not least):

NuTonomy:

Singapore-based startup NuTonomy beat the likes of Google and Uber to launch the world’s first self-driving taxi service. But the taxi company had suspended trials for little over a month last October, after one of its self-driving cars hit a lorry at the One-North Business Park in Ayer Rajah.

The right bumper of the car was damaged, and it left a dent on the side of the lorry.

The two engineers on board were unharmed but shocked.

NuTonomy claimed that the accident occurred due to 'software anomalies', and resumed service after fixing the software problems.

Would further software problems cause more serious accidents?

Who is willing to put his life at the mercy of a software, which is likely to have bugs and glitches?

Will the insurance companies be willing to insure you at low premiums?

What role is a voter to play in voting system? Play the ruler role or play the to be ruled role? You are illogical. U vote for WP and u command WP cannot form a government. U should vote for pap.

For those voting for WP, they vote for being ruled by WP government. The benefits are different from pap. First the population will be curbed. Second the citizens will have jobs. Third the rich and poor ie salary difference will be adjusted.

U vote for pap, the population is to expand to 7 millions in 12 years time (2 more terms). Expand population will stop salary increase. Dirty tricks contracting with hired from sunny land to pay back cash to boss while receiving employment pass above salary is well known. These population increase is the weapons to create rich and poor gap. The top levels will take higher bonus. This kind of level can increase bonus at million dollars count. At the same time, the ministar such as toothpick box will curb $100pm increase for the poorest working level.

U vote pap to get mrt overloaded and to get sub quality maintenance hiring those sunnyland technicians to save cost for the paper generals to draw out extra millions as bonus.

In another 20 years, sinkieland will have highest taxes, low quality mrt and smelly seat cabins. Citizens will run short of cash to pay flat bills, higher electricity bills, and overcrowded public places at weekends, no where to go. There will be days when prostitutes at gelang will not serve those overwhelming cheap labor. These labor will go look for your daughters and wives at night. Indirectly the security in sinkieland will deteriorate badly when cheap labor and cheap foreigners are expanding beyond control. The little india incidence told sinkies clearly, the uniform group cannot handle a localized riot. U vote for pap for very serious consequences for your own children.
