Ooi Jin Teck as CEO of Singapore Sports Hub?

Lee Bee Wah is rooting for Jin Teck, the current COO and now acting CEO with the resignation of Sawhney to be the next CEO. Jin Teck has all the credentials to helm this position, a Singaporean, an Olympian, represented Singapore in swimming and won many medals for the country. Why not?

When you read the names of the who’s who in the Sports Hub and those who have left, resigned after Sawhney became the CEO, one would be wondering why all the top management posts were held by foreigners and Jin Teck is probably the odd Singaporean man out? Don’t we have any Singaporeans good enough to be CEOs, or are we waiting to groom the next generation of CEOs in sports so that they would be ready to become CEOs in 50 years time?

I think Jin Teik’s weakest point is that he is a Singaporean, Singaporean is read as stupid, no talent and not good enough. If Jin Teik is a foreigner, his chances of being the next CEO would be much higher.

Would the Sports Hub be asking a foreign recruitment agency to go around the world to hunt for another foreign trash to be the CEO of the Sports Hub and Jin Teik, being a daft no talent Singaporean, is only a seat warmer, waiting to be replaced?

I know where they should be looking for another talented foreigner to be the CEO of the Sports Hub. Go to the little villages in the third world countries. They have all the talents that Singapore needs to run sports hubs and sophisticated modern businesses with skills honed from their little villages. Singaporeans like Jin Teik are just not good enough to be CEOs though they lived in a modern first world city. They just did not have the exposure needed to run modern facilities compare to the villagers.

What do you think?

Annon 8:32, he used to go China for traditional Chinese Physician treatments, guess now he will engage the services of Indian doctors.

Aryuverdic treatment and martial art originated in lndia.
They could have been practiced long before others became civilized.
ln fact, much civilizations were results of enlightenmemt from the lndian Subcontinent. Religion, Science, Culture and What not, lndia was at the forefront.
As for managing all endeavours, few in the modern world could match the lndians, especially when it comes to managing a remote village with little resources like water and with vast expanse of arid lands that are thousands of sq kilometres with many different ethnic population.
lndia is up and coming.
Many expect lndia to race ahead economically and in other areas and may eclipse China in the coming years.
ln any case, no one should compare any sinkies with the lndia lndians, for running an lndian village could be many times more challenging than running a tiny speck located at a most endowed location.
The tiny speck in currently poorly run by locals, it badly needs some good and clever lndian chief to keep it agloat, oops, afloat.

Sinkies are backward country bumkins. How to run the Sports Hub or even banks? Only remote villagers have the sophistication to do the job.

Now you know why Indians are so advanced and sophisticated in managing their country.

Do you think our Generals should inter-marry with villagers in India so as to improve their family's blood line & intelligence?
If not, then how to manage NOL (oops. too late), SMRT, SPH and etc. ?

India has been First in MANY THINGS, for example:

1. First to use military troops to storm the Sacred Sikh Golden Temple.
2. First to invade East Pakistan and renamed it as Bangladesh.
3. First to invade Kashmir and occupied it, until Pakistan intervened.
4. First for its Prime Minister to be assassinated by her own body guards.
5. First to popularize gangraping defenceless young girls.
6. First to dishonourably and brutally murder their own daughters in order to protect their family's honour.
7. First to be slaves of the British Empire.
8. First to worship LKY as their God and Saviour.
9. First to churn out low-grade easily obtainable degrees.
10. First to produce cheap fake degrees sold through the Internet.

If PAP government signed the CECA with India;
Does this mean that PAP knows that India has the necessary skill sets that the PAP government needs?

In all spheres of business and government linked companies ( GLC ) they claim there are no local talents to run them and so they have to recruit villagers from third world countries especially from the country south of the Himalayas. Yet all these companies were built up by local Singaporeans with local capital. Just take for example DBS the Development Bank of Singapore was initiated by Dr. Goh Keng Swee in early 1960s and with the help of a large pool of Singapore talents and Singapore capital he built and developed DBS to what it is today. All the well oiled systems, departments and connections both local and overseas were perfectly built up and run by local Singaporeans. Then out of the blue they recruited a stranger from nowhere to run DBS as the CEO claiming there was no local talent. With everything well in place and with all sections and various departments well run by highly qualified Singaporeans even if the CEO goes on a one year extended leave or absence the
bank can and will still be able to run efficiently and profitably. This foreigner is just
an opportunist who supplanted Singaporeans and yet he is paid an exorbitant high salary every year cum ten to twelve million dollars in perks and bonus thrown in annually. It is indeed a waste of tax payers' money. What benefit has this foreigner brought to Singapore or is he being made use of to cover up some hidden agenda under the guise of foreign talent.

A cynical observer and flabbergasted citizen

cleaners that sucked up all the dust and dirt and then disposed together with the Rubbish.
There will be no trace of them all after they, the Vacuun Cleaners with All the Rubbish in them are incinerated.

Not really lah. Maybe for his own good reasons and being also a smart Sinkie , Jin Teik didn't want, or was reluctant, to be Sports Hub CEO in the first place? Possible, tio bo? That's why Sawhney could get the job lor.

Just as smart Sinkies didn't want, or are reluctant, to join the Sinkie opposition to fight and replace PAP as govt. That's why PAP could win the election lor.

Anyone thinks a population of about six millions has more talents than nations with much higher populations and longer history ?

Tiny lsland States should feel lucky that others do not eant them and leave them alone. Yet, one tiny speck wants to show off as if it is invincible.
lt is very vulnerable to it's own stupidity and ignorance.
Arrogance shall be very costly if not fatal.

Now I fully understand why daft, money no enough and jobless Sinkies really LPPL and pathetic due to PAP always win elections.

You always have a high regard that these MPs, Ministers and what PM can earn more than been in the House.

You won't be surprised that they are worth ZERO in the commercial sectors.

You thinj Liu earned more as a Director in Chip Seng than been a Minister??

Some more got to don't said until so low pull strings or use past influence or Quan see to go in.

NOL CEO why straight away cannot be headhunt by the private sector and had to be spoon fed to SPH? ?

Anonymous said...

Singapore got talent meh? Government thinks they are all hidden in the military. That may explain why all top guns are rope in to serve at top government jobs. Recently more were appointed as Perm Sec.

Virgo49 11:07 am

Virgo49, I think u are confused lah.

Because Liu and the ex NOL CEO are not really smart mah. And that's precisely the reason why Sinkies suffer because real smart ones who can help Sinkies didn't want to be minister or NOL CEO.

Hope u are clear now.

It's true, it's true. Singaporeans don't want to be CEO of DBS and Sports Hub and all the CEO positions. So got no choice lah, must go all over the whole wide world to hunt for the best talents that want these jobs.

Singaporeans also don't want to be PM and President.

Wanna bet, the next Sports Hub CEO would be an angmoh or an Indian. Definitely not a general. They cannot afford that.

If the majority of the people in the Singapore government are from the military ... Does this mean Singapore is becoming a military junta?
..........

A military dictatorship (also known as a military junta) is a form of government different from civilian dictatorship for a number of reasons:
their motivations for seizing power, the institutions through which they organize their rule, and the ways in which they leave power.

Often viewing itself as saving the nation from the corrupt or myopic civilian politicians, a military dictatorship justifies its position as “neutral” arbiters on the basis of their membership within the armed forces.

For example, many juntas adopt titles, such as “National Redemption Council", “Committee of National Restoration", or “National Liberation Committee".
Military leaders often rule as a junta, selecting one of them as the head.

Not Singaporeans, but real smart Singaporeans don't want to be PM and President.

TCB wants to be President shows that he is not smart because he cannot help Singaporeans even if he becomes President. How to, when PAP is the govt and he is not the choice of PAP to be President?

Does anyone also think that Sin has talents to run manage it ?

The best in Sin is probably average elsewhere. The Leaders in Sin even imagine that
Singaporeans can go abroad to compete. Maybe there is a handful of them but definitely not from the Ruling Fraternity in Sin which is made up of many foreign borns.

Sin shall be takened by
aliens soon or occupied by majority aliens

Real Insulting that Liu and Ng not smart ENOUGH.

Anyone selected by the PAP Echelon are cream of the crops.

You want to be in private sectors as doctors, for example and have to earn extra incentives from Pharmaceutical and Milk Powder companies just to have an Atas Standard of living.

Whereas just as a Minister, you have the pomp and pageantry everywhere you go like a celebrity.

All kowtow just to get into your good books.

Everyone got to welcome and talk until no salvia.

So sad.
So many Sinkies have been brain-washed by the old fart into believing that it is very difficult to manage the Singaporean economy.

Seriously.
It just takes 45 minutes to drive from Changi Aiport in the East to Tuas in the west.
How difficult do you think it is to run such a small country?

Just like Air Asia's logo: "Anyone can fly"
Just like Tony Fernandez; no airline experience also can build such a famous & profitable airline like Air Asia.

When it come to the job of Singapore's Prime Minister.
"Anybody can be a good Prime Minister".

Don't be fooled or scared out of politics by the old fart.
You can do it.
Singaporeans boleh.
Tan Cheng Bock boleh.
Low Thia Khiang boleh.
Chee Soo Juan boleh.
Kenneth Jeyaretnam boleh.

Ascendas-Singbridge and Sembcorp Development this month have jointly received the letter of award for the master development rights to the Amaravati City Start-up Area in Andhra Pradesh, India.

The award was issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, witnessed by Shri Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and Mr S Iswaran, Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry), who said Singapore is looking forward to conclude the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (Ceca) with India.

The Singapore-India Ceca is a bilateral free-trade agreement covering areas such as tariff concessions and the facilitation of movement of professionals.

The CECA agreement - investment opportunities in India in exchange for letting India nationals into Singapore for jobs, benefit who? at expense of who ???

Skilled Immigrants - H-1B Visas Under Fire

https://www.bloomberg.com/quicktake/skilled-immigrants
----------------
When some Americans talk about immigration, they picture people they want to keep out: the undocumented ones sneaking across the southern border.

But when some U.S. businesses talk about immigration, they picture people they’d like to bring in, especially those with science, math or computer skills.

President Donald Trump has called for an increase in the legal immigration of high-skilled workers even as he’s looking to overhaul the temporary visa program used by technology companies to hire tens of thousands each year.
The result could roil businesses from Silicon Valley to New Delhi.
-------------------------

Is there any similarity between USA's H-1B visa and Singapore's S-Pass?

Anonymous said...

9.52pm, no lar the USA visa mainly aimed for technology people whereas sg s pass can go to cashier, hair dresser, massage ladies, karaoke ladies and prostitutes disguised in some other jobs.
