Civil Servants no direct access to internet

‘The Govt’s move to delink computers used by civil servants from direct access to the Internet is “absolutely necessary” to keep govt data and public services secure.’ Hsien Loong. When this policy takes effect in May next year, civil servants can only access the Internet through dedicated computers or through their personal computers. Hsien Loong has disclosed that there have been very determined attacks on the Govt’s IT systems and the threats are getting more severe and sophisticated. Just relying on the system’s defensive measures is looking like a losing proposition and it is best to cut the connections to the minimum. Hsien Loong quoted the possibility of personal data like NRIC numbers, addresses and income tax returns being hacked and put up for sale in the Internet. It is all about being safe and secure and the safety of citizens. Tiok, absolutely.

Given the same kind of logic and thinking, would the govt clamp down on immigration if more Singaporeans are being beaten by foreigners here or if the threats of terrorism increase, or if actual terrorist acts occurred? Or would it be too late by then? Data security cannot be more serious that personal security and safety and the threats of terrorism on our soil or in the heartland?

The preventive and proactive policies and measures taken to safeguard the data and information safety and security of our citizens should be extended to make sure citizens personal safety is protected and not compromised by the hoards of foreigners with unknown backgrounds living next door to our heartlanders or working in the same factory or office.  Why expose our heartlanders to such risks? Tiok boh? Important or not? No attack does mean we are safe. Terrorists planning to hit their home country from here do not mean we will be safe and they will not turn to hit us.

What are the govt going to do about these threats living with and among us?

RB

Safeguard the data and information safety and security, can do by just simply removing Internet from computers of civil servants.

Make sure citizens personal safety is protected and not compromised by the hoards of foreigners with unknown backgrounds living next door, how to do? Remove the hoards of foreigners with unknown backgrounds from coming to Singapore? Can or not?

Do you think Hsien Loong is hiring the wrong people at IDA?
Do you think Hsien Loong should hire hackers as IDA consultants instead?
You know.
Like TV Drama CSI Cyber.

Or is it Singaporeans voted the wrong people and political party into government?

/// Hsien Loong quoted the possibility of personal data like NRIC numbers, addresses and income tax returns being hacked and put up for sale in the Internet. ///

What about the full details of our super secret Singapore reserves?
What about the full details of GIC and Temasek investments and losses?
What happens if hackers find out the details and tell the whole world?
If Singaporeans find out then how?

Do you think the answer is NO?
Why?
Because even if Singaporeans get beaten up or raped by foreigners - we will still vote PAP?
Is this why the government will not clamp down on immigration?

All roads lead to Rome.
All the questions lead to the same answer.
If you want change in Singapore, you have to vote Opposition.

True or not?
You tell me lah.

Why not?
Which is more serious?
The physical safety of Singaporeans or the leak of data relating to the assets and income tax returns of Ministers?

Anon 11:49 am

Not the wrong people, but rather the best people available to IDA.

If the right or good ones are not available, how to hire? Can don't hire? If don't hire, how to do work? Which one is less evil, no work or lousy work?

Anon 11:55am.

You are absolutely spot-on. Foreigners rape voters wives because they look pretty. Botak screwed a supporter s wife was because she looked absolutely pretty. Voters must continue to support the ruling party to get in more foreigners to eye at pretty wives while their husbands support the party to do work for it at night. And vote for them again in GE for 80% support next round. Opposition are not able to beat the ruling party because they do not take in 2 over millions of immigrants: many are criminals who wrecked someone s head and got hanged, and got many lawyers hoping he survived.

Immigrants consist of terrorists who do not want to hurt citizens except blangadeshi. Uncurrable TB only spread among citizens had nothing to do with immigrants.
Foreigners wack citizens because they wanted to do so. Nothing to do with the ruling party bring in more millions of foreigners. Blame citizens not foreigners please. They want to be treated this way and will vote in 80% support for sure in 2020.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-06-17/rio-declares-state-public-calamity-warns-total-collapse-security-health-and-transpor

"......... the Rio state government declared a state of "public calamity" (yes, that's the technical term) warning of a risk of total collapse in public security, health, transport and virtually everything else, because as the local government explained, the financial crisis is preventing it from fulfilling its requirements for the Games. Dear Singapore Olympic athletes.
Please insure yourself properly.
Of course, you can also just trust the PAP government to look after you.
Hundreds of thousands of MRT passengers do that everyday.

This is not the first time I have raised the alarm at redbean's website.
