Khaw Boon Wan – Like it or not, this man works

Boon Wan only took over the Transport Ministry a month ago after the GE. It is amazing at the things he is doing and at the rate he is doing them. It would take a new person some time to understand the new job and the problems and work on the solutions. Here it seems that he already has a full grasp of not only the problems facing the train system but also have solutions in his hand. And he is not only looking at the problems of the trains but also implementing contingency plans for both the aviation and rail sectors.  On top of these he appointed PUB Chairman Tan Gee Paw as his adviser on rail transformation.

Boon Wan has in a way taken over the running of the train operation and looking at all the angles he could look at and all the problems the system may face.  He is not just the Minister of Transport but also the executive officer of the train operations. Things are changing very fast and today he has decided on the decoupling of the power system between the NS and EW lines. And the transport experts agreed that this is the right thing to do and should have been done long ago. KNN why no one thought of it before.

So lucky to have Boon Wan taking over. In his hands every problem becomes so simple.  He is indeed a miracle worker.

Like that how to be PAP Prime Minister?

If Khaw become PAP Prime Minister, then things will become so simple that Singapore will no longer need;
- 5 mayors,
- 89 MPs,
- three Coordinating Ministers,
- dunno how many Ministers in the Prime Minister's Office and
- dunno how many Ministers of State.

If like that, then there will be many PAP Ministers, PAP mayors and MPs who will have no job to do.

Who is paying Tan Gee Paw's salary?
SMRT or Singaporean citizen-taxpayers?

Dear Redbean,

Thank you for this write-up on Khaw. Enough of praising PAP. Can help Singaporeans to know Yaacob Ibrahim?

Anonymous said...

If Khaw is now the CEO of SMRT, then what is SMRT's $2.2 million dollar salary man Desmond Kuek doing?
- And who is running the Transport Ministry?

Suggest we split the Transport Ministry into two Ministries.
- Ministry of Railways
- Ministry of other Forms of Transport

This will allow for PAP PM Lee to promote yet another PAP MP into a full Minister.

Thank god he got the $8 heart operation. It's God will to let this man carry on

This fucker M'sian Cow is just being parachuted into ministry after damage is done already.
i.e. Health ministry after SARS started; MND after HDB flats became 10X Sinkie's annual salaries (HDB flats still more expensive than ever, just got more of them); and now in MOT after MRT keep breaking down & affecting 1,000,000 passengers and decreasing GDP.

People think that this fucker cow is a miracle worker. The fucking hard truth is that after massive shortcomings that make PAP govt look like fools, PAP is very liberal with spending taxpayer money to save their own face. Every ordinary Sinkie knows what needs to be done, but it takes a slap in the face for PAP to take proper action.

The fucker cow just happens to be in the right place at the right time, and doesn't deserve his "miracle worker" reputation.

What is so fucking miraculous or hard about doing things right?!?!
E.g.
1. SARS --- just follow the infection control procedures of WHO or even better the CDC of the US (which the fucker cow did).
2. Overpriced & too little new HDB flats --- just fucking build more lah, and as icing on the cake implement property cooling measures every 6 months until it works.
3. MRT breakdowns & unreliability --- cheebye lah, get proper engineers in charge instead of PAPpy balls-lickers like Saw & Quek who only know how to suck PAP cock & make Temasek and other shareholders happy at the expense of commuters.

See??? What's so fucking hard about solving these so-called "tough issues"?!?!
All it takes is for PAP govt to support the people doing the job, and to open up taxpayer money to buy & implement solutions --- which PAP only do after major cockups that cannot be covered up anymore.

Fixing up Khaw's heart only cost Khaw $8.
But fixing up our broken down MRT train system will cost millions if not billions.

Hi 9:24, apologies to get you so angry.

And Tracy, it is better to say all the good stuff and hear the good stuff: )

Redbean is spot on.

Khaw Boon Wan is many
times better than the Prime
Minister.
High time for Khaw to take
over the premiership.

KBW! KBW! KBW!

KBW is the man!

KBW is the BEST BEST of PAP.

KBW is PM material. What a waste! What a waste!

KBW.....no problem is too big for KBW.

KBW.....this tiny city state is nothing to him.

KBW can "one-leg-kick" or "一脚踢"!

Yes! KBW is the man! KBW! KBW! KBW!

Btw, the new car registration series SKW 0001 A should be awarded to KBW.

Cheers.

POLITICAL JOKE
----------------
Socialism: You have two cows. Give one to your neighbor.
Communism: You have two cows. The government takes both and gives you some milk.
Fascism: You have two cows. The government takes both and shoots you.

So what is PAPyism?
- You have a good train system
- your friend breaks your train because she refuses to follow the operations manual
- you give your friend a bonus to go away quietly
- you get another friend to repair the broken train
- your second friend decides to follow the operations manual and talks sense
- you call your second friend a miracle worker for following good engineering practices

So what is the daft 70%?
- the daft 70% remembers only the miracles but forgets who broke the train in the first place.

/// Khaw Boon Wan – Like it or not, this man works ///

That is as it should be - after all, he's paid millions and he's just doing his job - and whether he can deliver is still a question.

OTOH, what has his predecessors been doing all these years? Dozing on the job while collecting millions.

Anonymous said...

Khaw is a miracle worker because he is the only PAP person who is willing to listen to engineers tell him how to operate a train system.

It's a miracle that Khaw did not call his army (or navy or air force or NTUC) buddies to help him run the Transport Ministry.

Anonymous said...

Why Khaw Boon Wan straight away ask a Singaporean Tan Gee Paw to help him?
Why not appoint an Alien Talent to help him?
(Railroad Engineer from India should have plenty of breakdown experience).

Why no Commission of Inquiry?
Why was SMRT CEO Desmond Kuek not asked to help?

Anonymous said...

It's a miracle.
A PAP Minister asking an Engineer to solve an Engineering problem at SMRT.

I thought Khaw would have followed PM Lee's example and would have asked a doctor, lawyer or admiral to help with the train problem.

Anonymous said...

" ... and today he has decided on the decoupling of the power system between the NS and EW lines. "

So Khaw thinks decoupling the power system is good.
Good to have two separate power system.
Otherwise if the power fails, BOTH NS and EW lines will be affected.

But 70% of Singaporeans think that Singapore can still depend on only ONE power system ... the PAP.
Why they don't think that if PAP fails, there is no backup?
They should think like Khaw.
Build up TWO separate power system instead of just depending on PAP alone.
So if PAP break down, at least WP can still function and run the country.

Anonymous said...

He forgot to go to the world to hunt for the best foreign talent to take over the SMRT. Or is he doing it oredy?

The best talent should from countries where train breakdown is most common, then got good experience.

@ the superstitious fool, RB:

>> He is indeed a miracle worker. <<

Kepala butoh lah! He's paid to do a job, and he's so far doing a good job. In his previous roles, he also did a good job.

For other people, they don't do their job, they get sacked. And they earn less than Boon Wan. But then again, if you don't do your job---at least as well as the cheaper foreigner who is going after it---you deserve to lose it.

Meritocracy lah. Can you make it?

TracyTan said...

Dear Redbean,

I disagree that we should just hear only the good stuff. I think it's our duty to let Singaporeans hear both the good and bad stuff.

I like to hear what Khaw did. I also like to hear what Yaacob, Lawrence, Vivian did too.

Let the truths prevail

Ⓜatilah $ingapura⚠️ said...

The People get the govt they deserve, and the govt get the people they deserve. This is the "balance" you will find in most relationships.

"Everyone is a little weird" says Nate Silver.

The govt also need to know the good and bad:

"good"-- people who voted PAP
"bad" --- people who voted against PAP

Nearly 70% of Singapore voters are "good". Numbers lah, hard numbers.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Everyone is a bit weird. Some are bipolar, some suffer from Tourrette Syndrome, some are mentality sick but did not know.

Well...just don't get annoyed by the sick bugger in this blog.

Yes, Tracy, you are right. I was just trying to be polite.

TracyTan said...

Dear Redbean,

It's good to be polite.

But when we deal with the pap, it's wise to state the truth because, due to its control of the media, many Singaporeans will not know the true pap.

So we owe it to Singapore and Singaporeans to paint pap the way it is. We need to expose the true calibre of Yaacob, Lawrence and Vivian without mincing words

Fr the records in My Singapore News,
Redbeans appraisal for PAP Cabinet Members had been quite positive.
He is a great admirer of the horrible man, Tan Chuan Jin was his blue eye boy. Lim Swee Say gets his adoration too. Now, it is Khaw Boon Wan though the man had hardly solved much of the problems when he was Minister of Health and National Development. Quite the contrary, costs of both healthcare and housing remain high or escalated. Must say Minister Khaw is no simple man, he is pretty good at offering ideas, excuses and even nonsense such as Hara- Kiri to his opponents. He claspe his hands like a monk to show others his holiness. Believe the man at yr own risk.

The others in the cabinet are by and large straightforward except for one who tends to sell himself too hard to sinkies though he was a general in the army. Aunties seem to like his boyish demeanours.

70% have confidence and faith in the PAP Members, they must have proven to be better than any opposition candidates. So, they deserve to stay in power and be liked by the people.

Dear Anonymous@3:44,

I am new to Singapore News and cant comment on Redbean's past posting. But I hope that he will be objective and state the truth in his write-ups of PAP MPs.

Khaw is a shame to his religion for being so vindictive and untruthfulness.

The Buddhists show denounce Khaw.

Regarding the 69.9% who voted for the pap at the last GE, were they swayed by what they read in MSM rather than the truth? If, so we can make a difference at the next GE. And we must!

How will you make a difference?
70% of your friends and family voted PAP in GE 2015.
Can you persuade them to vote Opposition?

Anonymous said...

"Regarding the 69.9% who voted for the pap at the last GE,..."
Tracy Tan

The 69.9% voted for the pap simply because pap is seen as the lesser of 2 evils.

They believe, and rightly so, that a disunited and not ready to be govt opposition voted in as govt will be worse than pap!

TracyTan said...

Dear Anonymous at 4:35,

My friends and I know our strengths and pap's weaknesses. So we know how and what to strategise to help Singaporeans vote against the pap.

TracyTan said...

Dear Anonymous@4:50,

When we vote at the next GE we vote for Singapore's future.

Some of the factors that helped the pap at GE 2015 will be nullified at the next GE. So take heart and be confident that pap wont get 69.9% at the next GE

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

I am glad that there is now another prolific writers with a view in Tracy Tan here.
Yes Tracy, you get them talking and thinking.

TracyTan said...

Dear Redbean,

Thank you for your compliments. I am not anti-pap. I love Singapore and am just on the side which is for Singapore and Singaporeans.

I am speaking up against the pap now because I believe PAP's present policies are causing much miseries to Singaporeans and leading Singapore down a slippery slope. We have no future under the present pap leadership.

Either we vote out the present pap or we are doomed

Anonymous said...

Would really appreciate that Ms Tracy Tan could tell us how She would be able to nullify the PAP in the next election ?
And
did She not feel that PAP deserves to have been nullified in the 2015 GE ?

PAP Fairy Tale #1

There is no Singapore without PAP.

PAP is finished without Singaporeans' blind and dumb support.
(The PAP Ministers cannot find better employment elsewhere).
There is no Singapore without Singaporeans.

PAP Fairy tale #2

Singaporeans own our HDB flats.
90% of Singaporeans own our own homes. One of the highest home ownership rates in the world.

The Real Truth

HDB owns our HDB flats.
Only 10% of Singaporeans (private property owners) are homeowners.
We have the lowest rate of home ownership in the world.

Dear Anonymous@6:05,

There were some factors that favoured the pap at GE 2015 which will not be replicated at the next GE. These are the LKY effect and the Pioneer Generation Package effect.

Another factor which may not be replicated is the new citizens effect. In fact I think some of the new citizens who voted for the pap at GE 2015 would vote against the pap at the next GE because they would have equally suffered from the evil pap policies.

TracyTan said...

Dear Anonymous @6:36,

/// So lucky to have Boon Wan taking over. In his hands every problem becomes so simple. He is indeed a miracle worker. ///

Let's have a reality check. Khaw looks good only because the others have been idle. Not because he's any miracle worker.

For example, just look at the decoupling issue. The engineering professionals must have been saying so for years but the previous Ministers did not listen. It takes a stupid person to ignore the advice of engineering experts. Any normal person would do what the experts recommend. So that does not make Khaw any miracle worker. It simply makes the earlier ones dummy.

TracyTan said...

Dear Anonymous@11:39,

Well said!

A Mass Rapid transit System needs regular preventive maintenance and constant upgrades. We don't need rocket science scientists to tall SMRT that it need to spend on preventive and scheduled maintenance. Was that done under SPH's watch? If not should she be charged for professional negligence?

Shouldn't something be done to the SMRT Management Board too for dereliction of duty?
