Are we printing fake degrees?

We are recruiting so called foreign talents en masse from the capital cities infamous for degree mills and selling fake degrees. And there are more than a million of these things here. And how many fake degrees have been uncovered? 10, 20, or 30? Incredible is the word. Either these fakers are damn street smart or we are damn stupid that barely a handful could be found among the millions that have entered our system over the years. Is it something of an accolade that we should shower over our heads or should we bow in shame? The cavalier attitude towards the presence of fakes in out system is frightening and simply irresponsible!

Never mind, never mind, it doesn’t matter. Only a few losers got fired and replaced and they are not complaining. So where is the problem? No complains means no problems right? Let’s just ignore their abundant presence. Since no one bothers so let it be. Let’s move on. Employers are happy, the fakers are happy, the govt is happy, except for the few that turned taxi drivers. Maybe they are also happy as they are now their own bosses managing their own time and trying to better their services by being more courteous and gracious to their customers.

Fake degrees are simply fake degrees, obtained without the need to attend classes or lectures. Some may attend a few fake classes by fly by night operators calling themselves Universities of Oxbridge or Camford, or New Harvard or Old Yale, something like that. We also have quite a lot here in our streets. Some have been caught and closed.

What if an university is very reputable but the professors or lecturers are fakes? Would their degrees be considered fake degrees as well?

How do you know there are a million fake degrees in Singapore? Have you any data to prove this? Do not simply come out with figures you cannot substantiate OK? If you must quote figures, first get your proof. The problem here is you talk without any real evidence.

When did I say that there are a million fake degrees in Singapore? Do you know how to read? If you don't don't anyhow bark!

Get your facts right.

Hahaha, RB, no need to get angry with this low level IB. They can't read but only know how to jump to conclusion.

If I am a NUS graduate.
And Anoop Shankar was my professor.
Can I get a refund or discount for my university fees?

Years ago.
When MRT trains got problem.
We tell Yew, but Yew don't believe us.
Now we tell Yew that fake degrees are a problem.
And still Yew don't believe us.
The only proven feedback mechanism is to vote Opposition.
Better yet.
We might accidentally vote in a more competent government than Yew.

" And there are more than a million of these things here. "

I interpret that as 'a million foreign degrees"
- have you been taking your English lessons from Anoop Shankar?

9.58 million of these things here mean million of FT and not million of fake degrees. U passed your psle English or not knn. I primary 4 dropout can also understand mah

Actually hor, I think when RB said a million of these things, it is not in a literal but more a figurative sense lah.

Just like the phrase a 101 things to do, doesn't mean literally a 101 things to do lah. It is just a figurative way to say many things to do lah.

So Anon 8:56 am and 9:58 am, u must sometimes learn how to read better lah.

Tiok.

Just like some people greet u "Hey uncle, Hey auntie, hey brother" doesn't mean u are their uncle, brother or aunt, tio bo?

So must know how to take it in the right way lah.

That little CB IB, go and repeat your kindergarten and ask your kindergarten teacher what it means lah. Don't come here and waste people's time with your idiocy can?

Go, go. shoo.

RB's English is still better than PAP English lah!
"Betterer, Cheaperer and Fasterer"
knn
I pay million dollar salary for this type of shit.

Also how about PAP logic.
One elderly Singaporean guy spend all his money in Batam.
So all Singaporeans cannot get their cpf money at age 55 years.

Or better still.
Since NEA, LTA and NParks cannot decide who should pick up the fishball stick.
So the solution is to set up yet another government agency to pick up the fishball stick.

More "correct" English lessons for redbean

"Plainly, a person inside a polling station cannot be said to be within a radius of 200 metres of a polling station."

http://www.singapore-window.org/ag0721.htm

Clearly redbean has not been learning his English from the 'correct" textbook.

You mean the above means a million fake degrees? Why you so daft? Is that what your kindergarten teacher taught you how to read?

What refund do You want?

The Lecturer(s) maybe fake
but
the University is not fake
and
the Degree You got is issued by the University NOT THE LECTURER LEH.

NUS and NTU are NATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, You know.

The Fucker came in to kacheow Rb and got many to give him free English Lessons.
Damn lucky fucker.

Wat says MS?

Tell that silly boy that when he read something, he must read it in the correct context. The sentence before and after, sometimes the whole paragraph, would give the full meaning of a word or a sentence.

Someone quoted the bible, 'Fear not, for I know you by your name, your are mind. For I am your God.'

Without reading the next line you have one impression. Now read the next line that is part of the same para. 'I am the God of Israel. I am the God of Abraham.'

Does the meaning changed?

Fake degree is still tolerable. I am afraid there is a lot of fake doctors in local hospitals giving false advices and misdiagnosis.

Pity those patients.

Singaporeans are becoming a damn pitiful lot.

New Singlish word "Shankared"
EXAMPLE
---------
NUS just got shankared by Anoop Shankar.
Similar in meaning and use as "NatCon":
I just found out I can only touch my CPF money when I am 65. Not 55 as I was earlier promised. I've been NatConned.

We also got a fake fibreglass merlioness, some fake trees and even faking action in the name of the people.

Fake degrees are easier to establish. What is less obvious is the world-wide trend towards `dumbing down` of degrees including especially PhDs in a variety of fields; sacrificed on the alter of expediency and reputation. There are PhDs and there are PhDs.
