Rb, base on Chinese astrology, Sat morning should be quite warm but subjected to 7th month weather, the "folks" need start go back as next day is the last day of their 2014 "holidays" .

Afternoon maybe cloudy and may bring some light rain before and after lunch. Weather could be quite cooling in the late afternoon between 5 to 7 pm. Still subjected to 7th weather as they may have to make it conducive for the "folks" to make it back avoid the "massive jam " the next day which is the last day of 7th month for 2014.

Overall, weather should be breezy and more cooling than the 9th Aug afternoon. So likely a conducive afternoon to attend the gathering unless the 7th month weather takes precedence. A good lazy afternoon to sip coffee and chit chat before the gathering at 4pm at level 2 Hawker Centre opposite HLP across Upp Pickering Street ( Between Chinatown Pt and Fook Hai Bldg) .

For oldies who prefer a light lunch, the porridge at level 1 is quite reasonably priced and one of the better ones in SINKIELAND.

The Bak Kut Teh store next door also not too bad.

Could we see a record turnout?

There could be 2 extremes.

Less than 2,000 or more than 6,000.

With recent development, it could be the later.

This may be the last chance for the older sinkies to make themselves heard before the "cosmetic proposed tweak " announced is cast in stone.

Even if it rains knives, so be it.

Otherwise CPF really stands for "Collect Post Funeral " for many, many oldies, retirees and older sinkies?

Everyone will be affected.

With changing goal posts, the worst may be YET TO COME?

Pek Kim or gambling chips for experts?

Have your say and make your stand

Even a cornered forest rabbit would put up a fight for its life with the hunters.

How can human be worst than a small forest rabbit?

For those without a job after 55, in poor health, how to survive till 65 under current and recent proposed tweak?

Would the recent announced tweak makes any difference if retirees are too ill health or out of work between 55 to 65?

Heard about a Chinese saying?

"远水救不了近活"

Water 10 miles or 10 years away CANNOT SAVE the fire burning RIGHT IN FRONT RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT.

By then, many will end up " kena burned until chow tar liao "

No?

When water ($$$ Cpf - collect post funeral ) finally arrives, the house already burned down lo!

Too late!

Too little anyway!

Would not have put out the fire.

Imagine putting out a big burning fire with water gun?

OMG!

Ya, don't waste time with the pak chiu cheng king. That's what he does best.

The hawker stall you mentioned is where I headed with my kakis for kopi or 'Yu kai mei fun' ie fish chicken rice noodle. Actually it is fish noodle but the fish slices are thick like chicken pieces.

Hope to see some of you on Sat and Speed. And our resident geomancy forecasted weather is cool, maybe some rain. Not bad. And it is good to do something than do nothing and be led to the slaughter house.

Cheers.

That's right RB.

All "under one roof".

Good kopi, good and reasonably priced food, good pals, good camaraderie, good discussion to safeguard sinkieland's future ( hopefully but no high hope, either it will sink or it can be rescued but in the circumstances it sinks, the new sinkieland to be rebuilt is not likely to have present leegime involved. So, technically, the leedeship should thank the oldies and all for rendering a helping hand in the event it is rescued.)

Rb // And it is good to do something than do nothing and be led to the slaughter house.//

Tiok.

Somehow, things on the ground SUCKS BIG TIME.

山高皇帝远! High mountains, faraway emperor!

But Sinkieland so small ( 715 sq km ) and the highest point is the miserable Bt Timah Hill which a fit athlete would need less than 10 mins to reach from foot to hill top.......

The IVORY TOWERS must be 800 STOREYS high otherwise why things and situations are deteriorating unabated on the ground?

To "wake up the asleep keeper", the Chinese call it:

"敲山震虎"!

远水救不了近火. Indeed, it is so.
The Livelihood and survival of many Sinkies are adversely affected and threaten by Policies formulated and implemented by the RULERS over the Last 3 Decades. The Frogs(People) are placed in slow boiling water and they were enjoying the hot bath without realising that they will be cooked. Some, however are not conned and maintain their senses and are prescient to the Dangers and Consequences.

The Propaganda portraying progress under the care of our great elite leaders are ubiquitous in Sin. The Onslaught of Propaganda in the State Media is relentless in prints, telecasts and broadcasts. It is not wrong to say that they ALL MOUTH PIECES OF THE REGIME. The People chosen to work the Official Media are invariably Bootlickers of the Rulers.

Living is to face REALITY, we cant depend on Fengshui to ward off adversity or to bring us luck. Life is short, even if Fengshui allows for some period of sustainability for some; many others facing challenges will not benefit much from Fengshui Arrangement.

As rightly said by many, Sin will be around even if Sinkies are decimated by whatever reason. IF SINKIES ARE FACING SURVIVAL PROBLEMS, WHAT USE IS THE LAND? CAN PATRIOTISM AND NATIONHOOD FILL OUR STOMACHS?
AND WE KNOW THE RICH ARE GETTING RICHER AND THE POOR BECOMING POORER DUE TO POLICIES THAT CAUSE IT TO BE SO.

There is no denying that the Road ahead for MOST SINKIES will lead to more challenges and sufferings. As we are NOT ALLOWED AND UNABLE TO BECOME PART OF THE ELITES, THE MOST PRACTICAL MEASURE IS TO LOOK FOR ALTERNATIVES AND OPTIONS. LEAVING SIN TO LIVE A SIMPLE LIFE IN CHEAPER LANDS IS ONE WAY TO A MORE MEANINGFUL EXISTENCE.

THERE IS NO POINT TO STAY RELYING ON FRUITLESS HOPE AND FENGSHUI. THIS WILL ONLY MEAN LONGER STRUGGLES THAT WILL NOT BEAR FRUITS.

Our resident fengshui master's prediction of today's weather is 100% right. Hope to see you there. But you must call me as I have no clue what you look like.

Hope Speed will be there as well and a few others.

Cheers.

So many geh angmo around? How you want me to attend and listening to these who dun have proper name.
I will definitely not allow my younger brother and sister to attend as I dun feel comfortable seeing them having angmo name but complaining about angmo. They may worship the wrong so call hero and start to name themself Peter or Jenny Goh.
I rather let them have their CPF save and secure with Garmen than to see them changing their name.
