Notion of aggression not defined – Shinzo Abe

When Abe was asked the question of Japan’s aggression in Korea, China and the rest of South East Asia in the Second World War, his reply was that ‘the notion of aggression was not defined’. What he meant must be that while the countries invaded was screaming aggression, just like a sexually violated victim shouting rape, the Japanese do not see it that way. To him, it was not aggression, but probably liberation. They were liberating the colonized countries to free them so that Japan can rule over them under the East Asia Co Prosperity Sphere. So where got aggression? It is for the mutual benefit and prosperity of Japan and all the countries they invaded.

How many Asian countries would believe this man? Can this man and Japan be trusted to revive its military and aggressive past as a military power? Abe is now visiting some of the countries that were victims of Japanese aggression which he did not agree and offering another version of the East Asian Co Prosperity formula. Japan is going to be the same old Imperial power to lead these countries under Japan. Japan is going tear away its pacifist constitution, rearmed like it used to be, a military power, and to be the leader of Asian countries once again.

It is increasing its military budget, acquiring more arms, involved in military adventures, offering to help the Philippines fight against China. It is behaving aggressively and provoking China and Korea and still making devious moves to continue to stake claims to the territories of Korea and China.

Would Asian countries be stupid enough to buy this Japanese lie that the remilitarization of Japan is for peace and for the good of Asia? Have these countries forgotten what a beast Japan was and could be again when it becomes an aggressive military power once again? Can Abe and Japan be trusted?

Actually hor, Japan also got the same problem as Sinkieland in one area, which is the TFR (total fertility rate). And their TFR is also very low and will come to a point where their old folks are a majority and so total population may start decreasing.

So like that where got enough young soldiers? How to fight, you say lah.

Hi agongkia, there can be many levels of relationship, national, individual, commerce, social etc.

The dispute between China and Japan is national involving territorial claims an a history of aggression. The Chinese can and will continue to build trade, economic and social ties with the Japanese as long as national and territorial issues did not over turn the apple cart.

Then get the Pinoys or whichever country with high TFR to fight for them lah, tio bo?

Don't fight. Make peace and do work.

Get others to do work for you, not fight for you, like what Sinkieland do.

Fighting is not productive but destructive. Work is productive.

I tell you that Abe character has been sniffing the dirty crotches of too many Japanese schoolgirl panties lah. His brain has turned into miso -- old, fermented and demented, and so it is reasonable to expect tis fella to talk absolute shit.

We know, that you know, that we know, that you know...yet the Asians give the panty-sniffing Nips too much leeway when it comes to history -- RECENT history. The Nips still DON'T ALLOW THE TRUTH in their children's history books at school.

Germany has apologised for, and remains deeply embarrassed by its Nazi past. Japan is PROUD of its military heritage and has NEVER apologised for its atrocities -- not to the Chinese, nor to the Koreans, nor to anyone else.

British colony called Singapore was renamed as the 昭南島 syonan-to (why the Jap translation must sound like local dialect?)

What ! it meant 'light of the south' ?

More like darkness of the south to us here whose grand parents went the most difficult and witness the savage behaviour of the Japs soldiers and those who aided them

During those dark years 1942-1945
wiki

To remove Western influence, the Japanese set up schools to teach the people the Japanese language. Textbooks were printed in Japanese. Every morning, the children had to stand facing the direction of Japan and sing the Japanese national anthem.

In the cinemas, only Japanese movies and propaganda films were shown. These films showed the virtues of the Japanese and made fun of the British. Going to the cinemas had its dangers too since the Japanese might suddenly appear and take away young men to work on the Death Railway. Sometimes, the Japanese would plant themselves in the cinemas and would listen secretly to conversations, hoping to overhear anti-Japanese remarks.

The local Chinese and English newspapers had very little local news. Most of what was reported was the Japanese version of the war and pro-Japanese speeches. Radio stations were controlled by the Japanese and radio owners could listen only to local broadcasts. Tuning in to foreign broadcasting stations was done at great risk. Those caught doing so were severely punished or even killed.

The Japanese military secret police committed numerous atrocities against the common people. They introduced the system of "Sook Ching", which means "purge through purification" (in Chinese), to get rid of those deemed as anti-Japanese.

Besides, the Kempeitai established a network of informers around the island to help them identify those who were anti-Japanese.

These informers were well-paid by the Kempeitai and had no fear of being arrested. ===wiki

those informers list if still in the heritage archive should be made public afterall part of the war heritage of Nippon

earlier news 5/2013

Major South Korean newspapers yesterday splashed a photo of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in a military trainer jet on their front pages, saying it was a reminder of Japan’s colonial-era atrocities.
The picture in question showed a smiling Abe giving a thumbs-up while sitting in the cockpit of an air force T-4 training jet emblazoned with the number 731.

The number evoked memories of Unit 731 - a covert Japanese biological and chemical warfare research facility that carried out lethal human experiments during the 1937-45 Sino-Japanese War and World War II.
The unit was based in the northeastern Chinese city of Harbin, and held prisoners from China, South Korea and the Soviet Union.
The press in Seoul suggested the Abe picture was an intended affront to countries like China and South Korea which suffered under Japanese occupation and colonisation.

the Wokou (Chinese: 倭寇; pinyin: Wōkòu Korean: 왜구 Waegu) japanese pirates started to attack China and Korea Korea since long long ago

Korea launched attacks on pirate bases on Tsushima in 1419 with the Gihae Eastern Expedition. General Yi Jongmu's fleet of 227 ships and 17,285 soldiers set off from Geoje Island toward Tsushima on June 19, 1419. The routes of the Korean attack were guided by captured Japanese pirates. After landing, General Yi Jongmu first sent captured Japanese pirates as emissaries to ask for surrender. When he received no reply, he sent out his forces and the soldiers proceeded to raid the pirates and destroy their settlements. The Korean army destroyed 129 boats, 1939 houses and killed or enslaved 135 coastal residents as well as rescueing 131 Chinese and Korean captives of the pirates and 21 slaves on the island.[11][12] The number of Wokou raids dropped dramatically since the Korean expedition.

Immediately after the Japanese Surrender and the return of the British forces in 1945, the Shinto Shrine, the Bukit Batok War Memorial (Syonan Chureito) and the British War Memorial behind it, both located at Upper Bukit Timah Road were demolished by the British forces. The remains of the Japanese were moved to the Japanese cemetery wiki

Plans to rebuild the memorials to remember both the Japanese and Allied fallen were discussed in the 1990s but were shelved in 1991 because of sensitivities toward those who had suffered under the Japanese. Today, a transmitting tower stands at the site of the original monuments. On 9 July 1995, a plaque was unveiled by MP Ong Chit Chung at the Bukit Batok Nature Park as a memorial instead. wiki

there were such ridiculous plans to remember to war enemy? who ideas?

The shrine's design was based on the famed Yasukuni Shrine in Japan. The Yasukuni Shrine dates back to 1869 and has been the resting place for more than 2.466 million Japanese soldiers who died for their country, serving as a national symbol to remember those who died in both World Wars. wiki

Abe was born into a political family of significance. His grandfather, Kan Abe, and father, Shintaro Abe, were both politicians. Abe's mother, Yoko Kishi,[14] is the daughter of Nobusuke Kishi, prime minister of Japan from 1957 to 1960. Kishi had been a member of the Tōjō Cabinet during the Second World War. Since GHQ's policy changed and became more anti-communist, Kishi was released from Sugamo Prison, and later established the Japan Democratic Party. In 1950 Shigeru Yoshida's Liberal Party and Kishi's Democratic Party merged as an anti-leftist coalition and became the Liberal Democratic Party of today.

Mr Abe Foreign policy --- wiki

India
Shinzō Abe's three-day visit to India in August 2007 was said to be the start of a new Asian alliance, building on the long history of strong, friendly bilateral relations enjoyed by India and Japan. Abe proposed a "Broader Asia" alliance of democracies as a counterweight to China's growing influence in the realm of economics and military power.[citation needed] Abe's initiative was seen to be the "fifth" bilateral link in this emerging scenario whereas the U.S.-Australia, U.S.-Japan, Japan-Australia, and U.S.-India links are already established. A sixth link of the India-Australia is said to be the logical corollary in an attempt to create a new quadrilateral of military cooperation which China has labeled the "Asian NATO".

Mr Abe Foreign policy --- wiki

Abe's India foreign policy was pragmatic, as it was based on boosting Japan's resurgent economic indicators, while gaining a crucial partner in Asia.

India, alone amongst all major Asian countries, does not have a history of serious military dispute with Japan.

During World War II, Japan became involved in the Indian freedom struggle through supporting Subhas Chandra Bose ("Netaji") in order to mould large numbers of Indian British army deserters into the Indian National Army.

This, coupled with the lone dissenting judgement by the Indian judge Radhabinod Pal during the War Crime tribunal of Japanese Class A war criminals and the cultural impact of Buddhism, which originated in India, has endeared India to the Japanese.[

The government of India strongly supported Britain in its war against Japan, 1941-45. Over 2 million Indians volunteered; many served in combat against the Japanese who conquered Burma and reached the Indian border.

Some 67,000 Indian soldiers were captured by the Japanese when Singapore surrendered in 1942. In 1944-45, the British and Indian forces defeated the Japanese in a series of battles in Burma.

At the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, Indian Justice Radhabinod Pal became famous for his dissenting judgement in favour of Japan. The judgement of Justice Radhabinod Pal is remembered even today in Japan. This became a symbol of the close ties between India and Japan.

A relatively well-known result of the two nations' was in 1949, when India sent the Tokyo Zoo two elephants to cheer the spirits of the defeated Japanese empire. wiki

why shitty times never report this ??

Diplomatic, trade, economic, and technical relations between India and Japan were well established. India's iron ore helped Japan's recovery from World War II devastation, and following Japanese Prime Minister Nobusuke Kishi's visit to India in 1957, Japan started providing yen loans to India in 1958, as the first yen loan aid extended by Japanese government.[4] Relations between the two nations were constrained, however, by Cold War politics. Japan, as a result of World War II reconstruction, was a U.S. ally, whereas India pursued a non-aligned foreign policy, often leaning towards the Soviet Union. Since the 1980s, however, efforts were made to strengthen bilateral ties. India’s ‘Look East’ policy posited Japan as a key partner.[12] Since 1986, Japan has become India's largest aid donor, and remains so.[4]

Relations between the two nations reached a brief low in 1998 as a result of Pokhran-II, an Indian nuclear weapons test that year. Japan imposed sanctions on India following the test, which included the suspension of all political exchanges and the cutting off of economic assistance. These sanctions were lifted three years later. Relations improved exponentially following this period, as bilateral ties between the two nations improved once again.wiki
