The ridiculous nature of things

Recently we are hearing more and more Third World people coming here to set up businesses and claiming that we don’t have talents to work for them. And the only talents good enough are their own natives. Why would these Third World people want to set up businesses here when the cost of operating their businesses back in their Third World countries would be so much cheaper, cost of living cheaper, and plenty of talents that they are bragging about?

And the funny thing, why, with their talents, that they could not turn their Third World countries into First World countries?

And why would a First World country like ours go on its knees to beg for Third World businesses and Third World talents to come here and treating them as better talents than our local talents? Or the truth is that our talents are really worst off than Third World talents? Then why are we paying our talents ‘out of this world’ salaries, and Third World talents who could not find any good jobs in their home countries coming here to be paid First World salaries and to look down on our local talents.

My view is that businesses operating here, employing more than 70% of their own kind at management level should be encouraged to leave as they are not contributing much to our economy but taking advantage of our system and infrastructure and our efficiency and location. We are so good in so many aspects as a country, as a business centre, but behaving like a cheap prostitute with no bargaining power and have to accept any customer that comes along.

Isn’t that pathetic? Even Third World so called talents are despising us as unworthy of employment. Where is our dignity?

You are right. Something is seriously wrong with the current employment system and policy. Yes, we need workers and some talents to help us progress but there must be a limit. Having 100% staff from one country is definately a no no. Its only the ministry is closing both eyes that leads to this problem. If only the government has hearts for the people, it would not allow foreign companies to take us as prostitutes.

Aiyoh, just to the government or GLC sector lah, how many are foreigners....Clean our own house first lah..

Not enough Sinkies to do the job and to grow the GDP lah.

That's why need 3rd world talents.

Not say we want them but because they are the best available. So no choice lah because 1st world talents don't want to come what.

Just like PAP is still the best available party to be government although 54% Sinkies don't like them.

So now you understand?

Singapore and Singaporeans should only welcome companies who are signatories to the United Nations Global Compact.

What is the UN Global Compact?

“ The Global Compact asks companies to embrace universal principles and to partner with the United Nations. It has grown to become a critical platform for the UN to engage effectively with enlightened global business.”
– UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

Those who have no job have no dignity and those who paid themselves multimillion dignities do not listen to those with no dignity. This is the Hard Truth of Meritocracy or do you need spurs stuck to your hides to understand this?

Who benefit from the GDP growth when the 3rd world talents take away your job? Singapore Inc.?

The first rule of business is to avoid making decisions based on emotions because that's when your heart rules over your logical mind.

You clearly have much emotional baggage, not to mention a pitiable inferior sense of self worth, to overcome before you can even think about engaging the business world.

Melancholy is clouding your thought.

@ Raymond

The first rule of patriotism is to rid the country of traitors.

Are we selling ourself short or this country is really so shitty that it is good only for cheap workers, third world talents and their world businesses?

Quote from V:
....Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot."

My suggestion is just do what is required to change things in 2016. No use talking and talking when they just treat our views as noises while they continue to do what they want.

Those companies that employed more than 80% of foreigners as management staff have no reason to be here.

To some people, so long as there is money to be made, so long as the

GDP grows, nothing else matters, ha ha haiii !

RB, can you recommend any good Indian university as I have decided to send my kids there to study to improve their job prospect and I think also cheaper too

@anon 12:33 pm,

So you are crapping on RB's blog now since Lucky Tan has not written for awhile. Well, good thing there are still bloggers like RB, otherwise you'll have to look for another job. More importantly...

As proven in the several past GEs, PAP's votes continue to go down and you can bet both your ma's and grandma's underwears fewer than 60% will vote PAP in 2016, tio bo?

2001: 75%-25%

2006: 67%-33%

2011: 60%-40%

2016: ???

Hi Anon 7:42,

Unfortunately I can't help you on this. I am not familiar with Indian Universities. But based on what I read in the papers when recruitment agencies are claiming that they can find all the talents from India and not Singapore, and our Govt's willingness to sign the CECA for Indian graduates to work here readily, ie recognised, I think everyone of them is good if not better than our local unversities.

Just close your eyes and pick one and you won't be wrong.

Singapore is a company based entirely on maximising profits and market share. Singapore is not a country under papaya rule. Vote wiser next round else everyone may end up with no money to see doctor or visit hospital.
