Sex slavery was necessary, says Osaka mayor

This is the heading of an article in mypaper from AFP. The obnoxious lying Japanese mayor, Toru Hashimoto, described the 200 thousand Chinese, Koreans, the Filipinos and from other countries to provide sex for the Japanese Imperial Army as necessary. These ‘comfort women’ or forced prostitutes, were snatched from their homes against their wills but the Japanese claimed that only some were against their will, meaning many did it willingly. How to trust the Japanese for moral righteousness and for telling lies with their eyes wide open?

And ‘he said there was no evidence that the system had been officially sanctioned by the state, and the use of prostitutes was not unique to Japan’. So this is an acceptable practice in the eyes of the Japanese. And the Emperor did not know that there was a war going on.

So, should there be a war and foreign forces invaded Japan, it is ok to make Japanese women become comfort women for the foreign soldiers. And bet you, the Japanese, like this Hashimoto, will agree that it is ok.

The Japanese are revealing their attachment to their past atrocities and that they are all for it and will do it again. Basically they are saying that they are the same people then and now, and are itching to return to militarism and Japanese Imperialism. They are gearing up to be another military power like their father and grandfather generations.

Just listen to how aggressive they have become in their speeches, threatening to use force, to spend more money on military forces and weapons, to rewrite the pacifist constitution, to beef up their military, to engage in military adventures overseas.

Should the world welcome the remilitarization of Japan? They are the same Japanese that invaded East and South East Asia in their ambitious plan to colonise these countries. Their barbaric acts and killings of women and children are still being remembered by all the victim countries? They have taken down their mask of decency and respectability and as civilized modern people. They want to go to war again, to be the beasts they used to be.

Military prostitute is prevalent in many modern armies, during war time, including USA, Germany and Japan, in one form or another.

But somehow, the powerful western media hush up their own dirty secret.

Hi All,

Watch out for the Japanese House of Councillors ( Upper House ) mid-term election on 11 July 2013.

Total seats 242 but only half - 121 up for elections.

The Japanese House of Representatives ( Lower House ) general election was held on 16 Dec 2012.

The LDP under current PM Shinzo Abe won 294 seats out of 480. Its ally won 31.

They just need a two-third majority in the Upper House in July to amend Article 96 of their Constitution given their current more than two-third majority in the Lower house.

Once done, next would be to call a referendum to amend Article 9 of their "Pacifist" Constitution which basically puts absolute power back to the state and military, not dissimilar to what they were Pre-WWII.

Technically, by this time next year, if all these hurdles are cleared, China would be facing a Japan which is constitutionally similar to what the former Qing Dynasty and the former ruling KMT-led Republic of China ( 1911 - 1945 ) faced between 1868 to 1945.

Without military prostitute, there will be rampant rape, in most army.

Even ancient China have military prostitute.

The only few exceptions are the chairman Mao's PLA. PLA is the few army in the world indoctrinated with ideology to emanicipate people. They do not need military prostitute and they are not afraid of dying.

The Great East Asia coprosperity sphere was only possible in that era when China existed only in name and the rest of East and SE Asian countries were colonies.

Today the Koreans alone could punish the Japanese if they dare to invade them again. Samsung is running Panasonic to bankruptcy. Soon Sony and the rest will follow suit. No need war, just like China conquering the world without firing a bullet, without force of war.

Hi RB,

Just out of curiosity, do you think what Sun Tze said below still valid today?

“故曰:知己知彼,百战不贻;不知彼而知己,一胜一负;不知彼不知己,每战必败。”

Veritas said...

Actually Japan is quite sincere in East Asia coprosperity circle. It did invest a lot of effort in building up Taiwan.

It put a lot of effort in developing Manchuria also.

Today, one main reason for Japan demise and her developmental ceiling is because she is too small.

Imagine if Japan conquer China and SE Asia, she will be No 1 power in the whole world.

Also Singaporeans are mis-inform about atrocities in Japan era.

During Japanese occupation, Yamashita killed many people in the begining. This is needed to ensure the rule to be peaceful by allowing Japan to deploy small Gendarme and free its elite soldiers to fight elsewhere.

Indeed, Malaya did not fight Japan. The imperial Guards and elites division are long gone in 1945.

Shonan period is one of the most peaceful period in entire Malaya history. The atrocities are overblown. Even during the worst war years, Japan never starve Malaya. There is no famine here. Just that everything is short of supply.

Veritas said...

Also after the Nanjing Masscre, Japan did not commit any other big scale atrocities.

In fact, Japanese administration tried to save a lot of Chinese in Henan famine.

Japan did conduct certain amount scourge earth policy in Northern China. That is in response to communist guerilla warfare.

I haven research too much about Japanese anti insurgence compaign but evidence seems that Japan and Map communist make a certain deal.

They is not much skirmish between them.

Next it Japan engagement to KMT soldiers. There is ample evidence to show that after Nanjing incidence, Japan engage KMT government in a internationally accepted manner in conducting warfare.

In Japan occupied territory, there are peace and certain amount prosperity. Zhang Ailing as well as many continue to produce large amount of work during this period.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Hi Edmund, that quote of Sun Tsu is only a small part of warfare. Knowing your enemy and yourself do not ensure victory. You need a lot, plenty more to win a war.

And Veritas, if China were to make Japan a colony, it would equally invest a lot like Japan investing in Manchuria and Taiwan.

The atrocities in Singapore overblown? How many more heads must the Japs chopped off before it is accepted as serious? Those who were victims or relatives that were victims still hate the Japs to the core. I kena scolded once, furiously, by an old man who thought I was a Jap, just a few years back.

You are right to say that Japan was and is small. They cannot dream of repeating the same act anymore.

Veritas said...

I mean text book should have put clearly.

1) Japanese come kill alot of people initially.

2) After that Japanese do not kill people indiscriminately.

3) Malaya is peaceful throughout most part of occupation.

4) Malayan do not fight, unlike China Chinese

5) Most Communist infested zone in China is also quite peaceful. I have found no evidence of Chinese communist party engaging Japanese in massive military compaign other than on one occasion. No fighting = peaceful.

Right now, we got the impression that Japanese is killing people everyday. The way textbook present things make lots of difference.

I am just curious that how come you mentioned previously many times that you are quite sure China would prevail if there is a military conflict with Japan?

I am not a Jap supporter. Just that if we are discussing some issues such as in this particular instance, shouldn't we look at the facts in detail before we jump to any conclusion.

Given the nature of how a military confrontation of this nature would play out in China's southern coast, East and South China Sea, many Chinese military experts often are more worried than even cautiously optimistic about such a face off.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Hi Edmund,

Just some deductions from past and present. When China was at its weakest, Japan could not colonise China except in the cities. They did not have the manpower to do so. And the undying spirit of the Chinese will keep on fighting with whatever primitive equipment they had.

And the Chinese still managed to achieve some victories though at great cost of lives by using terrain, land and strategies against a much superior Japanese force.

Today is a different China with enough strength and numbers to dwarf Japan. Japan may think they have superior technology but the China are not much inferior in this aspect. The PLA has proven to be a mean fighting force, willing to die for their country. The Americans did not want to admit it, they were defeated by the PLA in Korea in conventional warfare. Pushed back from Yalu River to the 38th parallel. That is a big piece of land to win back for the North Koreans.

And the new Chinese have a lot of thinkers and strategists and talents in charge. The pace they turned China into a modern nation and the number two in military and economic power say that they are not stupid peasants.

The complexities of the Chinese thinkers and planners in all fields are matching those of the Americans and they are actually planning to take on the Americans if forced to. What is Japan?

Their strategy is to be able to take on another Allied forces led by the Americans, including Japan and the Europeans. And they are prepared for it. They are also experts in Sun Tsu.

A well equipped armed forces with a central and unified command new China is most feared by the West, awakening the sleeping dragon.

my mother was living in upper serangoon during the japanese occupation. it was during the first week of the occupation and people were still not aware of the ways of the japanese soldiers. my mother's neighbour next door had a small coconut plantation about an acre in size. a japanese soldier arrived and instructed the neighbour's dozen or so workers who were lying about to chop off all the coconut trees. the owner had disappeared a few days ago. the workers (all newly arrived loin-clothed wearing tamils) wanted money for their labour and they started gesticulating, wobbling their heads and complaining in tamil. the japanese soldier looked puzzled for awhile, stood back a bit then in a matter of seconds unsheathed his sword and chopped off the nearest tamil's head. immediately all the labourers grabbed machetes and axes and began chopping down the coconut trees with great enthusiasm. all trees down, fruit, trunk, leaves all neatly stacked at the roadside by sundown.

I hope I am wrong.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Hi Edmund, a war with uncle Sam is unlikely. Both parties knew that both would be so badly bashed that victory is meaningless.

China is likely to suffer more casualties and destruction for sure. But the unacceptable damage the Americans are going to get makes this fight near impossible. It still can happen.

Thank you for “dragging” this out. It was one of the points but I left it out.

If a customer is willing to pay an “arm and leg” for a Lexus-quality car, can the Chinese deliver?

Which sensible military in the world would even consider a “Geely” type of military hardware in their arsenal if they can afford to buy the best?

Frankly, no intention to insult but even if it is given out free, I believe no sound minded military chief would want to put their soldiers in such a piece of hardware to “face the enemy”. Certainly, you would not want that for your sons and daughters.

Logically, a country that cannot manufacture high quality automobile would unlikely out of the blue be technologically two generations ahead and produce state of the art military equipments.

//”In case you haven't the noticed, the Chinese high-speed trains are more sleek and faster than the Japanese bullet trains.”//

Dear THE,

If I were you, I would not even bring this up.

The Chinese High Speed Rail since late 2011 has been under intense scrutiny from their own media and every trip on it “might be anyone's last” as described by some Chinese media.

Arguably, the late 2011 Wen Zhou crash accident was historically the worst “transport disaster” to “showcase” China's High Speed Rail system to the rest of the world?

Furthermore, it was the first in history of high speed rail crash!

Singapore-Malaysia High Speed Train project between Sing and KL is scheduled to be completed by 2020.

Do you think any purchaser would want to be anywhere near to any Chinese High Speed Rail manufacturer even with a “10-foot” pole?

Incidentally, the Chinese High Speed Rail costs their tax payers more than 700 billion rmb.

Hi Edmund, I must agree with you that Chinese consumer goods suck. They are only in the game for a couple of decades. They are doing reverse engineering trying to catch up and catch up they will, just like the Korean's samsung crashing into the mobile phone and TV market and taking a big share from the Japanese. They started like the Chinese, with low quality and poor QC. Hyundai cars too had the same problem. But when they put their will to learn and to improve, there is nothing to stop them.

What is the most fear Chinese weapon to the Americans? The Dongfang 21 anti ship missiles. With this technology, any American aircraft carrier or big battleships within a 3000 km radius is a sitting duck. This is a game changer. As a defensive weapon, China could sit there and wait for the Americans to come with their battleships and aircraft carriers, if they dare to come within the firing range of DF21.

The entire game of geopolitics and balance of power is changing.

THE,

To me, one train crash is one train crash too many.

My heart goes to those who died in the accident and those who are severely injured.

Some may never recover for the rest of their lives.

I hope they and their families are properly compensated and cared for. That is the very least they should receive.

The initial attempt to “cover” up the incident is extremely abhorrent of those in charge.

Anyway, in my “vocab”, every train crash anywhere in the world is a “winter”, never never a “summer”.

Those who think “train crash” is “summer” should “apologise” to all and their families who ever suffered in one.

Even 1,000 train crashes ( touch wood ) will never make any summer!

Much less one train crash!!!

Only sex psychopath maniacs as mentioned in RB article are capable of blatant lies and alleging that "comfort women" willingly become "sex slaves" of "barbaric invaders" who killed their fathers, husbands, brothers, uncles, sons, friends etc. Only “twisted and confused minds” researching in history welcome "barbaric" invaders into their countries and their homes to do “x%#$@!x&##@x!” to their wives, daughters, sisters, aunties, mothers etc and “beheaded" any fellow countryman who are not submissive.
